Dark Sides of Living in Manchester

  • What are the downsides of living in Manchester, UK? Thinking about going to school, taking a vacation, or relocating to the great city of Manchester? That being the case, you should give the city of Manchester significant consideration. The city is fantastic, and it offers citizens a wide variety of opportunities, so it's no surprise that they've made it their home. Although the benefits of living in Manchester exceed the negative sides of living in Manchester by a wide margin, anybody considering a move to this ancient city should give it another look. OK, let us discuss the negative sides of living in Manchester, United Kingdom!
    1. Homelessness
There was a time when Manchester was more reasonably priced, but that time has passed. The construction of luxurious housing has taken precedence over the construction of dwellings that can be afforded by average people, which has contributed to an increase in the number of citizens who are homeless as rents have skyrocketed and the waiting list for social housing has grown. The issue of homelessness is complicated, and each person who is now without a place to call home should be considered an individual rather than a member of a generic "homeless" group. Many individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds find themselves in a variety of precarious housing circumstances due to a wide range of underlying causes. The rising homelessness is a cause of concern for many and is one of the biggest dark sides of living in Manchester.
Those have a tendency to think of people who are sleeping rough or who are homeless on the streets, however this represents just a tiny portion of the overall population of people who are homeless in Manchester (between 2 and 5 percent). Persons who are couch surfing, staying in temporary housing, living in dangerous or poor housing, and people who are already residing in emergency shelters are also considered to be in other categories of homelessness.
"Relationship breakdown" is the most common cause given for why someone becomes homeless in the United Kingdom; in Manchester, "eviction from private-tenancy" is the most common reason. In point of fact, one's predicament of being homeless is often the result of a confluence of a number of distinct circumstances that led up to it. For instance, they could have to deal with abuse, debt, or being cut off from their social support networks.
    2. Long waiting list in hospitals
There are now over 500,000 individuals on waiting lists for the NHS in Greater Manchester, with tens of thousands of them waiting for more than one year. The number of individuals waiting for elective treatment is presently at 521,000, which is over twice the amount that was waiting before the epidemic, when it was at 283,000. And the number of people added to the waiting list continues to average roughly 3,300 every week. It comes at a time when demand in emergency rooms is still "substantially high," which affects the amount of beds that are available in hospitals, and staff members are becoming more "fatigued." The backlog of work that was produced by COVID is being cleared up by hospitals cooperating with one another and contracting out certain elective operations and treatments to the private sector. However, a significant number of patients will always be required to suffer unacceptably lengthy wait times.

Homelessness is not a complicated issue. Its the result of greed, corruption and government neglect. Each homeless person is a testament to government failure!

When they pulled down all the terraced houses around Salford they didn't replace them with low cost housing like the council should have. They built flash flats to make the place look trendy, but the original community was displaced. Not fair and probably the very reason there is more homelessness because only high earners can afford the rent.

No, it's due to them prioritizing their next bag of drugs rather than their accommodation, iv yet to meet a homeless person who wasn't a baghead in Mcr city center and iv worked nights here for the past 8 years,
That's why they are in the city center it's where the money and drugs are.
      Fuck the lot of them.

Overall a fair assessment. However, the airport has improved immensely and the new/refurbished Terminal 2 is really nice. More and more airlines will move to this terminal by 2025 as work progresses. As for weather, it is true that Manchester has a damp climate but the unstable weather trends (due to global effects) are giving the city heatwaves as well as downpours. Temperature of 30+C is no longer rare in summer.

Learning canteen: you use far too much generic library footage in your videos. Such footage may have some superficial appeal. But it quickly becomes boring to watch, as it is clear there is no real connection with your narrative. Why not get out there on the streets and shoot some of your own b-roll for a change.

Let me help you here. All the issues you refer to are a major problem in most major cities in the UK.
Regarding salaries, pay may be less than London but cost if living in far higher in London.
NHS issues are the same or worse in other major cities.
Life expectancy is always lower in cities rather than higher income or rural areas.
To say you are talking bullshit in this video is accurate & I as a Mancunian who has worked all around the UK suggest you alter your video making style.
