- With just over a year living in Manchester I’m in a good position to share my thoughts on it.
In this video I share the Pros and Cons of living in Manchester and sentiments on my experience so far.

I am an international student, never been to UK before. But I am struggling to choose between Sheffield and Manchester. I really do care much about public transportation because i will be using it on daily basis for the uni and everytning else
Having lived in both, i can tell you they both have really good tram & bus networks
You can get to london by train easily in 2 hours as well (although sheffield trains tend to be more frequent).

The pros definitely resonate with me. I lived in London for 4 years, then overseas, and now planning to move back to the UK. I was between Birmingham and Manchester as I wanted a smaller city than London but with lots of job opportunities. I'm now more inclined to Manchester. Which area would you recommend in close proximity to the centre but cheaper and also nice?
@nm267, its a really good balance here, especially with easy access to city centre.
On Affordability I'd recommend Ancoats if you don't mind busy life, its about 10 mins outside of city centre, For a calmer, slower feel, Prestwich, Salford and Altrincham are your go to, and less than 30 mins outside of the city. Hope that helps.

Im born and bred in Manchester, it isnt the greatest city on Earth but the city centre is the best city centre outside of London.

Manchester is a great city, it definitely has its pros and cons, I think it depends on what you're looking for and what kind of life you like to live, once you get through the difficulty of moving countries it can be very nice. All the best:)

Im west of Manchester Near the coast in Lancashire and i can tell you it is drier here more than Manchester.

@@rinkydinkmcruk More near Merseyside. We have the welsh hills, I'm guessing adjusting the slip stream in away from us and the salt air that helps with lessoning the snow. Sounds theoretical, But lived here all my life and we never get it has bad here.

I have shortlisted 2 Universities
1) University of Salford, Manchester
2) Leeds Beckett University, Leeds
Can you suggest to me which city will be the best option for me?
in terms of cost of living, daily expenses and part-time jobs availibility
@araubkhan, both Cities are great. If we’re looking at cost of living, Leeds would probably be preferable mainly due to accommodation being a bit more affordable.
Regarding part time jobs, I’m not in the best position to advise on that.
Definitely weigh out the options based on the lifestyle you’d like, and more importantly the university rating. All the best!
Great honest overview Sibu, you are very outgoing you will do well living here. I used to live in Manchester and was born there, would go back in a heartbeat, but my family not keen.

London is a capital city. Compare London with Paris. it rains more in Plymouth, Southampton, Cardiff, Glasgow , Huddersfield, and Brighton.

You can cannot with strangers in London but you have to go out of your comfort zone, however the more affluent and exclusive districts of London can and do have an air of snobbishness to them.
The only thing to say is that Salford isn't Manchester, it's the City of Salford.

Hi! The best place to look for accommodation is www.rightmove.co.uk/ or www.spareroom.co.uk/ if you're looking to share or find a house mate. Also check the Salford Uni website for any university accommodation. Most places have options to view online so you can potentially secure accommodation before moving over. All the best:)

Hi! Its a pleasure. From what I can tell, I think Manchester is small pet friendly😅 (but I stand to be corrected as I don't own a pet)
I see lots of people taking their dogs for a stroll in the city (apartment blocks) and outside of the city (where there are more houses)
Oh... and the area is Salford, its quite big but you will find what you like.

Yeh, you get that a lot….Manchester has loads of parks all over the place, it’s just in the city centre that parks are lacking.

Thanks for watching. I'm probably the worst person to ask about the dating scene😅 But I would think you have a better chance of meeting someone good in the North in general because of peoples openness, but you still need to make the effort though, which is the hard part!

Hi sibu. I arrived manchester exactly a week ago. I will be moving to Leeds this week. I am Nigerian, and this one week in manchester feels like i am still in Nigeria because of the population of Nigerians i have cone accross when i step out. I hope Leeds will be this lively to me. Weldone

The only thing I like about Manchester is that the people are very friendly and open to helping if I need help. I hate the weather, crime rate as I’ve been a victim of knife crime and I feel really lonely here because neighbours don’t interact with each other and it’s so hard to make friends. I’m going back to live in Spain and I won’t be coming back.
The friendly people really make it feel homely. And yip, the rain the rain😅takes some adjusting. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience, that sounds terrible. As for the loneliness, I get you, and you have to be intentional with making new friends which is not always easy.

As a Spaniard myself, I have to say that the weather in Manchester was awful to me... but under Spanish standards, I have to say that London wasn't much better... Now I live in Berlin, where the weather is not the best either, but with all honesty and modesty, I think that in general Germany is a much better country than UK and Berlin is a very cool city to live in.
But Germans can be racist to non-white people. I don't think Germany is good for poc, plus my friend went there and experienced racism.
So that must mean Spain is not a good place to live because you moved away?
Spain is great in some aspects under my point of view. But finding a good job might be a challenge. Not only the salary but the conditions and the perks are massively better in Germany in my opinion, a big chunk of the country is hot in springtime and... incredibly hot in summer. Even though it's not my case, I know many Spaniards that complain about the pressure that they have coming from their families and social old-fashioned traditions and the noise. With this being said, obviusly they're all subjective matters and other people might disagree and Spain has, in my opinion, other great things too. The food for example... but yeah, for me it's more suitable the north of Europe :)@@daviddeath6029
