Excellent review! Calm narration (no obnoxious yelling or fake excitement), perfectly clear speech with no garbage words. Great camera work and overall presentation. Thank you!
Very nice review. Very calm and a true personal ownership of your F-150. I'm about to pull the plug on a used 50k mile 2016 XLT 5.0. Your review is helping me make my decision much smoother :) Looking forward to watching more of your future reviews!
I have a 2005 F-150 Lariat and I can attest to Ford build quality. My truck has 162,000 miles on it and the interior is still absolutely as good as new. That's saying something for a guy who has 4 kids too. The leather doesn't even have any cracks in it and the dash is fully in tact. It has impressed me time and time again with quality and reliability. I've got the 5.4 but it has never given me a lick of trouble. I just take care of it and it takes care of me.
Got a new 2019 Lariat V8 Crew Cab this January. My last truck was a supercab and that's what I was set on for my new truck this year. But when I saw the crewcab had the fold up seats and flat floor I felt better about buying it. Sometimes I have to get stuff that's too small for the bed but too big to put on the small seats of the supercab. This new design has been very useful.
Got a 16’5.0 at 87k now I’m at 103k no problems so far 🙏 always in a pinch so oil changes at like 6500miles😭 i only run it hard when i raced ppl on the highway otw to work n back. I pray it last a while🙏🙏🙏🙏
I suggest getting those oil changes down to about every 5000 miles if not sooner, especially if you sometimes run it hard. The 5.0 coyotes are great but they rely on maintenance a lot.
I did have a JLT intake in it but later removed it because I had higher IATs than I did with the stock air box. I haven't looked into the Roush intakes but if I invest in another cold air intake I want it to be a closed box type system.
@@GearTubeTV If you mean a lid, I have an 18 with the Roush and it has a lid. I went with Roush because they are very good brand obviously plus they partner Ford already.
Yep the lid. My JLT was supposed to form a tight seal with the hood when it closed; however, I still had really high intake air temps. With the stock air box I am running maybe 10-20 degrees above ambient temp while moving. At a stop it obviously creeped higher because of heat soaking. With the JLT I was getting intake air temps about 50 over ambient air while moving and even higher while stopped. I just wasn't happy with that. So, I guess I'll look into the Roush and see what it's like! Plus, like you said Roush is hand in hand with Ford already.
I love the color, I have two tone black and silver on the bottom, the sparkle is intense. I have the center console with the column shifter, love the look of it.
I turn 204.000 km on my F150 XLT 2016 extend Cab 5.0 liters the only problem was the Radio and the rear axle put New Bering pinion and Crown at 195.000 km. I hope to bring that F150 to 400.000 km.
If you plan keeping you're truck for 5 years then the EcoBoost for sure but if you really want longevity and keep it for let's say 20 years then I would go with the 5.0L Coyote V8 for sure.
Awesome brother hope you enjoy it man. I have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 140,000 miles on it and still going strong and it's a beast and it sounds like a beast with the Borla ATAK Catback exhaust on it.
Yeah those oil consumption issues have been really bad! It's a shame really because you have some that are rock solid and some that are using quart upon quart until Ford says ok yeah there's a problem.
@@ti10can no I had to check the dipstick. I do once a week now. When it hit 4000 miles my oil pressure gauge was fine but my dip stick didn't have any oil on it. So like I said I check every once a week and add a quart of oil every 2-3 weeks.

Truck looks just like my own except I have the cheaper but meaner looking grill that comes standard on the FX4. My truck is the Fx4 2.7L model. It has the most torque in the class and still more towing than all of the competitors. I have the line-x premium and a rollnlock bedcover. I don’t have the bed lights nor do I have the sliding rear window. But other than that it’s the same truck. The FX4 is lifted from the factory and has the cover plates underneath the truck to protect when off-roading. Had it since Feb 2015 brand new and I’ve only changed the oil in that time. I still haven’t changed the brakes although I tried many times just because of the years but they keep saying no they’re not worn enough. Likely due to the weight. Interior of the Fx4 is same as the Lariat so big screen and all the perks.
@@jonathanhaney5673 Correct and still haven’t changed them. It’s insane. I wonder if others are getting the same. I did change the tires once but I use the high quality all terrain tires so they last long. I’ll be getting my second set of tires next year and gonna need to service the AC soon I noticed this summer it wasn’t as cold but other than that absolutely no issue just oil changes. Crew cabs are nice but the bed's so small they're not really good for doing any real work but you know what you start to have kids and you start a family and your cab gets bigger and your bed gets smaller

The notion that turbo engines are not durable is an outdated fallacy which has been held over since the 1980s when some manufacturers just slapped turbos on regular engines, and the engines couldn't take it. They made no/few modifications to the engines to account for the extra pressure from the turbos, and the engines were not *designed* with turbos in mind. For that reason, those engines didn't last. I have a 2016 Ford F-150 crew cab with 75,000 miles with the Coyote 5.0 liter. I get 19 miles on the highway. What type of gas do you use and i would check both engine and believe it or not the cabin filter. If your HVAC is working harder, this will lower your MPG. Also, make sure tires pressures are at the right PSI.
I was down to 18 and lower. Then a VCT solenoid went bad on drivers side. Replaced it, and brought mpg back up - currently around 21 highway at 96000 miles. I also changed oil weight to 5w-30 full synthetic helped a ton. Next thing I will be probably installing is an oil separator.

Good narration but you didn't crank the truck....
40k in 3 years?! You can't give a real review if you don't actually drive it
You didn't "review" the truck, you just told us what options and stuff that you had. Also, are you trying to say that just because the body is aluminum, that the paint is thinner? Can you back this up? I don't think so!
I like the truck acept the price all of them so over price
44k? Don't drive much do ya
he didnt start it
very disappointing that ford makes so many of these trucks with the garbage eco boost motors.
Not trying to hate but he literally donated a entire Chanel to a completely stock f150 with aftermarket lights and a bull bar
This is an actual owner’s review (real trucks, real owners’ experiences and opinions). Check out the “Featured” playlist on our channel for modified trucks... tons of great builds in that playlist!
Not my entire channel. Most of my personal channel is between rebuilding a Jeep Wrangler and a little about the truck. Truck Central had all kinds of videos about trucks. This was my actual owner review for the Truck Central channel.
Might want to hide your address a little bit better, it’s showing at some points
Eh I have no worries about that. I can be found in the phone book and a Google search anyway. But thanks for the heads up!
