I’m genuinely curious on your thoughts about cross contamination. It seams like you contaminated your table and seasoning jars with raw chicken juice. What’s your general thoughts on raw chicken and keeping work and prep surfaces clean?
Used your recipe tonight on my Recteq. My first time ever smoking wings. Baking powder, salt and pepper. No sauce needed for me. Lovin’ these crispy wings. Subscribed !
Have watched a lot of barbecue shows and very high quality people I can tell you this right now you are the only one that does it right and talks about it and goes through it beautifully thank you thank you thank you for your presentation and maybe one day when I get above my paygrade I'll be able to buy them rectec LOL
I’m just steady trying to catch up with your content, MAAAAAAAAAN i would eat every single one of those!!! Mouth watering like crazy on this one! Well done chef
Do you count that first 30 minutes of time during it heating up to 400 or did you not start the “timer” until it REACHED 400? Just curious. I’m trying these out tonight.
RAZC You know someone is going to try it. And be like "I did exactly what you said. My wings look like charcoal!!" lol I'm going to give these a try this weekend. This is a good video. Good info.
My man! Not only are they quality. But, much faster and easier to do. I cook a look of wings for other people. I'll be taking these to work for folks to try. Appreciate the video, brother!
Hasn't been an issue with the Recteq for me. I know it's happened to some, but even Recteq says you don't need to leave the lid open with their grills.
I can confirm with certainty. I have the Rec-Tec Bull. It has no startup issues or any risk of explosion... unless you don't clean it. Pellet dust and drippings build up on the botttom. Just clean it properly, you will never have an issue. Can't speak about other brands. Most box store brands are expensive cheap junk (I.e. Traeger) that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. I have had mine outside, uncovered, for over seven years. No sign of damage or issues. My brother bought Traegers. Two rusted through to worthlessness during the same time period. He wised up and bought a Rec-Tec.
Interesting, and looks fantastic. Odd, however, that you said you go "by temperature, not time" but pulled the wings based on the clock, without checking the temp. Still, that should be fine for wings. Nice job!
Just looking out for the people who may just be starting out with cooking. I knew they'd be past temp, but maybe the newcomer does something wrong and they could be under temp. Thanks for watching.
Once again nice video. I have a recipe close to this i do on my Traeger. But didnt know about the Baking powder trick. Cant wait to try that. FYI, made you Candied Jalapeno BBQ sauce last night. Real good. Thanks!
Great show only thing is need to point out using gloves or washing hands after handling raw food from video it appears you go straight to grabbing you grill handles.
Aluminum will hurt u mentally… even in the deodorant I use the aluminum free stuff because the chemicals in the deodorant absorb through ur skin and into ur blood stream…. Also when I smoke wings I use stainless steel baking racks ole hickory have large ones ($30) and then I had seen som large 1s on Amazon for like $10 with the racks the wings are easy to move around quickly also I like to cook the sauce on the wings it’s just my preference
Please, Please use gloves or tongs to touch chicken. I find it funny that you start to use tongs when you go to put the winds on the smoker when it was cold. One clean hand, on dirty hand. Please remember food safety at all times.
Followed your recipe to a "T" and when my grill ignited it blew the lid open and wings were all over my deck. I contacted Rectec and they said this demonstration does not follow start up procedures and invalidates my warranty for a bent hood, and broken light. They totally exempt themselves from any liability since you were the one who encouraged people to bypass lighting instructions. Hope you have good insurance or deep pockets
I have a char griller pellet grill and mine did the same thing but didn’t destroy nothing but yea I have to do the start first or it blows the door open
@@joenewman6494 Was it a result of this video and following the instructions given that caused it. My understanding is that this will happen on any brand pellet grill. I would be curious as to how many other viewers experienced the same thing following the instructions given. Let me know.
Please, explain how your grill exploded? I have the Rec-Tec Bull. The pellets gradually work into the ceramic burner. There is no gas or anything like it that can explode. ' What you are describing sounds like a failure to clean the grill. Pellet dust and leftovers from cooking build up on on the bottom. Its absolutely critical that you pull the grills off, then the burner cover and clean it regulary (every couple of weeks for me). I use a portable shop vac with a filter that captures all dust. Takes ten minutes. If you let the dust and drippings build up, yes, it can explode, and/or catch the whole grill on fire and if the pellet feeder is full or you have too many drippings it can really create a massive blaze. So, yeah, they don't warranty the grill for failure to maintain it. Had mine for over 7 years and all I had to replace is the burner. Its shows no sign of damage like Tregers and all those cheap grills where they rust through. I leave it outside uncovered year round. No issues. Please don't make people think the grill has "startup issues". It absolutely does not.
30 minutes lol that's way too much and then you're cooking it for 30 minutes and another 30 minutes that's way too long.. it's like 5 to 8 minutes per side done
Of course you're gonna need some over the top BBQ sauce for these. Check out my Candied Jalapeno BBQ Sauce video ➔ ruclips.net/video/0giFxPP94K0/видео.html
Just ordered my first pellet grill yesterday. Never did any smoking. Cant wait to try this method out!
So at what point did you test them for temperature?
I’m genuinely curious on your thoughts about cross contamination. It seams like you contaminated your table and seasoning jars with raw chicken juice. What’s your general thoughts on raw chicken and keeping work and prep surfaces clean?
I was just thinking the same thing!

Awesome! Glad they turned out good for you! Thanks for letting me know. Love hearing when someone likes my videos!
Looks like a great quick and fast chicken wing smoke, think I’ll try it, thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent! Never saw this method now have to try it! Thanks! Appreciate you, man!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice. Going after that BBQ recipe!
That’s a huge back yard. Great looking wings too
Wanna come cut the grass? 😂 Thanks!

Thanks so much for that comment! Appreciate it!
Awesome video you just gained another subscriber
Thanks man! Welcome!
I live in Phoenix. I can't get my grill down to 0. Lol
So more like 120-400 wings?! 🤪

Best video on 0-400.

Did you use frozen wings or were they thawed in the fridge? If thawing, how long do you recommend?
They were thawed
Do you count that first 30 minutes of time during it heating up to 400 or did you not start the “timer” until it REACHED 400? Just curious. I’m trying these out tonight.
Start the time the moment you turn on the grill.
Can this same process be used for chicken leg quarters?
Yep. They'll just take longer obviously.
New subscriber here. Great wings! I’m doing that today!
Welcome and thanks! Hope you enjoy them!
Great👍👍
Thank you 👍
Gonna try the baking powder trick tonight. Try putting your wings on a baking rack, much easier and you don't have to flip them.
Yeah I've since bought some jerky racks that slide in that I use. Thanks!
Damn that looks delicious, ive gotta try that on my next batch of wings. Maybe with a bit spicier if a sauce
Can you do this with chicken legs
I don't see why not. I would expect it to take longer though so check your internal temps.
Lol I guess I should do these on my 700 or 1250. Probably ot a good method for my Bullseye.
Yeah the bullseye tends to run hotter. Never tried this myself on it. Just the 700

0-400 works great but you don't leave the lid up till it gets going? Risking an explosion on a pellet smoker.

Thanks Gene! I love hearing when someone makes something from the videos!
I was told if you prime your grill with the top down you could risk a explosion
Never happened to me and Rectec says you can start up with the lid closed.
Are you concerned about a pellet grille explosion?
Not at all.
Great show only thing is need to point out using gloves or washing hands after handling raw food from video it appears you go straight to grabbing you grill handles.
Cook at 220 for 2 hours
Like how you raw dog the wings the whole time until you put them on the smoker....
Have seen different people use this method. Is no one concerned about putting food on dirty surface? I typically preheat grill to kill bacteria
I clean mine and let it run a bit after each cook. Never been a problem but I see your point

No
