One Mumsnet user has caused outrage online by asking stay at home mums what they do all day after the chores are done. Mum of two Rebecca Jane has asked herself the same question, and believes housewives are setting a bad example to daughters. But another mum of two, Kerry Whelpdale, says she's never worked and being at home is best for her family.

"what do you do all day?" why is it your business?
Fragile egos need to compare themselves to others...
Mother's are never given the respect they truly deserve!!! I support stay home mums, mine worked 2 jobs and it was heartbreaking seeing her come home tired then do it again with 6 hours sleep.
What are you talking about mothers always get respect regardless. It's the fathers who get no respect. Just look at how they treated on every freaking show.
@@SomethingSomethingg My mum had 8 kids all under 16years old, this is common in Maori families to have an average of 8 to 12 kids. She did that so, "what are you talking about"!!! The mans job is to protect the mother and take the flack because we have the shoulders to take it. That was taught by guess who??? MUM and enforced by DAD!!!
As a single mother is struggle for child care during school holidays so it makes it difficult to work ,then with losing jobs due to the kids being sent home unwell or an emergency, wjat does this lady expect !!
It's obvious that housewives who are dutiful aren't lazy and, actually, may be working harder than those who bring home a paycheck. This is a low IQ question. This about soothing egos.
That’s an idiotic thing to say. Women who work come back home in the evenings and do all the work a housewife does during the day so they actually work a job and a half.
Stay at home mums are amazing, working mums are amazing 👏 let's stop judging others life is hard enough
Being a housewife isn’t necessarily wrong but lets not pretend that they have anything other than a very easy life
No
School holidays cause an issue for every working parent, whether single or both parents working. There needs to be more support in holidays. If you have 3 school age children it is impossible to pay for childcare (if you are able to find it)
If I was a housewife I'd just secretly hire maids & doordash deliver all my meals.
Most housewives are at home making the home nice and cooking fur there hard working husbands and kids
I respect those who contribute to society and look after there kids.
House wife don't usually maximise their time productivity for other potential earning business that they can do even at home ,now there are internet you can create business or free lancing job out of it while at home. You don't have to clean the entire house all day isn't it ,and your children will grow not that long and have a mind in their own just guide them and check if they are ok and doing what they suppose to do
some kids have special needs that need extra time and care
