Honestly thing the swap between your initial reactions and the actual character breakdown is really interesting and seeing Rui in action has really gotten me hyped for the rest of the demons in the pass
I’m not interested in Enmu. He’s gonna be the Deidara. I believe his neutral or normal combo is gonna be the one from the boss fight. Remember his grey blasts? That’s the combo I’m thinking they’ll add

My first impressions were confirmed. The moment I saw his skill set I said that he will be the better demon, while everyone else was hyped for Akaza. Rui is the sole reason I climbed in ranked so yeah. Really strong character.

Yep. The first video of Globku was like AKAZA is busted. I was like "What are talking about ? Have you seen this rui buttons. No range character should have that range upfront XD." Funny thing some people need youtubers to make a video to understand that. Like "Do you guys actually play this game XD ?"

When facing a Rui main, if your on the ground when they activate regular demon ability (the cage without tilting) you can use your ult to get out while he’s activating, it’s just a combo cancel plus free damage

Will you do Murata? Like, I know he's the worst character by far, but I think it could still leads to an interesting video and a good challenge!
Fun fact: Winning games with Murata has the side effect of increasing the number of disconnects of your opponent, if you get what I mean ;)
@@hermaeusmora424 Oh yeah I've seen the different "Making people rage with Murata" if I had the money to spare to buy the game at full price, I'd definitely take him as my main! These are glorious!
(At least until Susamaru and Yahaba come out! They are my fav demons, alongside Older Sister Spider, and Mukago, but that's mostly due to their design/fanfiction potential! XD)
Ab man! Murata is the moat op character in the game! He even makes himself clumsy as a handy cap😏
i dont find him the worst tbh, his water wheel has insane tracking and can be used twice in a row
Personally I prefer akasa over Rui in most cases

You can reset a lot of your combos with Cutting Thread Cage: Prison. If you’re quick enough, you can follow up with Web Toss, Thread Dash, or even with Murderous Eye Basket after into a new combo.

Actually I just had an idea for Rui skins! What if, we gave him Older Sister Spider, and some of the background members that died off-screen, as skins for him? 5Kinda like Injustice 2 premium skins! That'd be dope!)

Yeah that was my first thought when they showed the breakdown. They are literally meant to counter and kill each other. That's why they have low health too. If one had like giyu health or damage It could have been annoying
Its interesting how everyone has less trouble with akaza then rui but akaza manhandles rui (well ive actually seen a few times where he got manhandled). Like what is this powerscaling? Lol

Rui has the craziest neutral I haven’t played against a super good rui’s yet but I’m kinda waiting for that to see new tech
7:30 Rui actually deals way more damage if you just cancel his three web tosses into ultimate on its own. The most damage he can get from a normal combo
I main akaza as he fits 2 of my 3 favourite fighting archetypes fast character and a character that just throws hands, and lots of them, but when I entered training mode I can see how terrifying a good rui could potentially be

I played akaza at first for obvious reasons. Then I played rui…and now I actually enjoy playing this game now 😂 before that I played zenitsu but I still didn’t think I really understood the game but I think rui is my main.
You didn't mention that when you use the guard(block) triangle(skill), it leaves you open for attack for LONG. your opponent can punish you for free if you miss it.
i usually use that movie after i do the up tilt combo, i send them to the air and before dashing in to the air combo i do that move since it usually hits
if you start the combo too far it won’t hit though
I like Akaza for his flashy animations but out of the two I've definitely had a harder time wity Rui players for sure
A simple combo that I see no one doing
Up combo➡️ block skill➡️ standing assist➡️ ultimate
That was a rui combo
I’ve actually been using that combo until this video came out. You can do the second combo globku does, but instead of ending with a grab, end wit your ultimate. It’s way more damage

Yeah I was fighting a rui player for the first time and I was like, w h a t. He is quite hard to open up I found and I honestly thought he wasn’t gonna be that great but to seem to that’s not the case.

I love this charecter
I have seen all of s1 so I was familiar with Rui, Akaza I am not because I haven't seen Mugen train (kind of disappointed that from what I see on Hulu it's just 3 episodes and it's being called a s2.) So when released, even before I had my hands on them, Rui had my eye. I like spider themed things and he felt pretty fun to play around with. Don't play competitively right now, but from a first timer with him's perspective, he's definitely gonna be strong. His melee range is gonna make him really hard to approach, giving him added self defense.
My account that was rank 2, had over 100 matches played with 70+ wins just got reset. I was playing a custom game with a friend last night and their was a disconnect. When the game loaded me back to the menu suddenly i was reverted to rank 1 with my entire match history erased. I dont know what to do in terms of support and im extremely frustrated

Best way to get damage with rui is boost or surge only really annoying part would be fighting rengoku, giyu and shinonbu (sorry autocorrect) . Good character just really patience is needed

I wish rui was a little more like enmu in the attack department (only the normal's)
I think it would have been quite interesting if he utilised his family in his moveset, I think if that was the case then they would only be his red bar attacks
Ideas for each member
Father: jumps down from where the enemy is standing and slams the ground as he lands and maybe does a swipe
Mother: appears and uses the headless puppet to do some swinging blade attacks
Sister: uses her hair at the oponent, if hits it would trap the opponent in the cocoon for a second and they would take a chunk of damage from the acid inside
Brother: hangs from the sky and spits poison at the enemy which deals damage on impact and also gives the poison effect
Of course only 2 members would be able to be in the game as there are only 2 types of red bar attacks but its still interesting to think about

Rui is! Honestly so so so soo fun for me, peoppe say he doesnt take skill cause everyone assumes a rui main is just gonna be a projectile spammer...lol!! If anything he takes the most amount of skill
keep in mind that rui can not use his web trap to counter special dashing attacks as they can just break through
Honestly I think it's awesome that your opinions of the characters of who would be stronger completely changed after we found out more about them when they were released.
I kind of wish they would give Demons more health or increase their Defense when in boost or surge mode. What's your opinion?
I think maybe keeping boost/surge go for two bars instead of 1 could be a good fix

Rui was ruined against me immediately. I played as Akaza and all he did was run and spam web toss. I mean he’s a pretty annoying character to play against. I find it hard to have fun against him.

Fun fact: Rui's no tilt demon move absolutely destroys guards. It literally brings them straight to yellow
Yeah very fun fact for the rui player. And it still activates fully even if he guess hit. It's literally an assist XD
You can actually dash after 1 ground web toss if they are airborne for free also not too useful though
