He died before I was born but he is my favorite bassist of all time. When it comes to oldschool Metallica despite it being older than me, I get a feeling of nostalgia just because it takes me to a time of badass, raw, and pure metal the way metal should sound. RIP to the greatest bassist to ever live, you will live in forever through the undying legacy of the almighty METALLICA!! 🤘🤘
First stuff I learned how to play on guitar. Me and a buddy would learn from each other, and we would always have something that the other didn't know how to do. We would listen to orion and when the middle section came on with just the bass, we'd light up a bowl and get absolutely torched.
This stuff is nostalgic even though I wasn't alive when it came out. It becomes nostalgic from when you start listening to it.

I was born 13 years after your death. You were the reason for me to start to play bass. Without you, I could not have found the meaning and the passion of my life, the bass. Without you, I could not have lived the strongest emotions in my life; your death and memory still brings me tears. Thank you Cliff, my teacher and my hero.
Cliff Burton is probably the only reason why I didn't commit suicide 4 years ago, his impact on my life is unexplainable! So sad I can't see him... 👊🏻💀👊🏻

My girlfriend dated Cliff when he was still in Castro Valley, before his Metallica days. They were such a perfectly odd couple and totally stood out from the CV population, especially since Cliff was still wearing bell bottom pants which were a long time out of fashion and they both had this wild and crazy hair. I remember going to his house and hearing Bach and him riff a bit. I definitely felt that he would be going somewhere in life. Though his life was short, I am glad he made a name for himself. RIP Cliff.

Tonight my mind is filled with sadness and anguish. I have bad thoughts and see no future. I happened to find this video, I adore Cliff Burton and despite still feeling a great void for his death, looking at all these beautiful photos of Cliff playing with his band and joking with friends, it gave me some relief making me smile. Cliff has the power to comfort me. It might seem stupid, but looking at Cliff lifts my spirits, he was an extraordinary creature and I would have loved to meet him. Thank you for this moving video

When I was a young kid listening to them on the early records I'd see these pics of Cliff...and i always thought he looked 40 years old....and mean looking now I look back he kind of looks like teenager with mustache. ....lol.. .crazy
Man, so many pics I haven’t seen before and I’ve looked at some pictures of Cliff over the years. The one of him on the bmx was rad, never seen that side of him before. Awesome clip. Cliff is the reason I began playing bass over 16 years ago. Still loving it.
Cliff personified Rock N' Roller. The only one that could've taken Lemmy's place. Not in Motorhead, but in filling his boots as a legend on Earth.
Now that I think of it, I guess this comment could go either way.

Cliff is the only true bassist for Matallica. He is not just a bandmate, but a real friend, and a brother to each of them. His playing style, slapping on those strings, standing side by side and banging his head in tune with James' were unforgetable. I was fortunate to watch him while he was still alive. He never a show off bassist, he was just that good, a natural. I have been a Metallica fan through his life, his death, til Jason, now Rob, but I can tell you, they are not even close to what Cliff had. One of a kind young man, a person James looked up to. Cliff still lives on in my heart.

Cliff always been my favorite person and my friend started to play bass because of him. Even though he was taken way to soon he will still be remembered as a person and by his music. I remember listening to Orion for the first time and then looking to the night sky and seeing the Orion in the sky. One day I was looking though my old jackets and found my old jacket that looks exactly like Cliff’s but newer and I been waiting for a day to wear it with my black shirt and denim bell bottom jeans. Long live Cliff Lee Burton memories!🖤
