The Krak-on roller fits my niche of play style, what I refer to as the aggressive support, or the “Harmacist”. I support my team, but will throw hands at all times. Plus, I’ve had one amazing moment where, in Rainmaker, I managed to push deep into the enemy base, plopped down a beacon, and died. They didn’t take down the beacon, so in short, we came from behind and just moved the dropped rainmaker to the goal for the KO.
I believe that’s officially called slayer-support, which is also my play style as well. I absolutely love the name harmacist though, that’s way more fun than saying slayer-support.

Out of all of the rollers, I main the Krak On and Dynamo rollers, those 2 are my favorites. And also I've noticed that the Krak On roller name itself is called "Krak On" because of the "Kraken" special, very clever of them to put that special with this weapon. Lol

@@Maritime_Memories not really. It's near impossible to counterplay well and you can't look away from it or else it'll kill you + contrary to popular belief, it ending isn't a free kill, a good Kraken will rush out of enemy like before special is over
neo splat/ttek and krak-on roller on tri-color is the secret bread and butter. Booyah bomb (or tristrike) the ultra signal, and use the kraken to protect your teammate and kinda make them invisible. (They’ll need a special to cancel it.) Do that 2 times, then have the krak-on focus on kills, while the other weapon focuses on painting. it works every time. One thing to mention is that I recommend waiting for the other attacking team to try to get the ultra signal so the timer goes down. Depending how long it takes you to get your specials this could make the process easier or harder
Krak-On is my favourite weapon, I've been playing it since S1 when kraken could superjump to beakons. The strat is harder now that you can't be a kraken when you jump and now that there's less cover in general, but when it works boy does it ever destroy the enemy team.
As a krak-on user my aim sucks, like it really sucks, BUT the kraken special usually causes the enemy team to get out the way so it’s fun terrorizing them
I played a scrim just yesterday with my team and we got 10-0d. We're kind of shit but their krakon had a field day. I watched back the replays and their use of beakons to be anywhere and everywhere was just amazing. I hope they push the weapon as far as it can go
i agree krak-ons such a fun weapon! but i prefer the big shit roller. (big swig but you know why im calling it that) i like the buffs it got. recently has been helping me do wayyyy better in splatfests. (the game in general hahaha) i like its playstyle. although my friend says its still bad and that the kits atrocious. any tips for the big swig roller?😅
im thinking about making a video about it because yeah i agree, it's another weapon that has serious potential, but its kit is terrible. Run object shredder and maybe some run speed up with QR. I use it as another skirmish weapon, because of how similar it is to splatana wiper, so watch Chase247's video on how QR works and that'll give you some insight to how to play skirmish
Would love to see you compare playing base roller to the others cause as a flingza main from splat 2 i can actually say that i am envious of having a more consistent kill option since mpu got axed. The vflick was fine for killing in 2 because mpu broke some weapon range thresholds. Now i have to vflick a lot less for kills and more for missiles because yeah, flingza is best roller in the game rn (well carbon git a points for special buff so we have to see if that’s actually good enough) but the play style did go down because your kill options got worse overall.
It's very funny observing how this script was done before the patch lol, we don't know how the long term meta will be effected by this patch but I definitely think Krak On is insanely underrated, and is one of the most fun playstyles in the entire game. If the main weapon gets a few buffs, which I can see from the latest patch really targeting the underused ones for once, Krak On will DEFINITELY be up there, along with base Roller.

The problem with krakon roller is that for qr skirmishers to WORK, they need a solid base weapon so they don't have to rely on anything else. Roller right now is NOT a good weapon, and the paint ESPECIALLY holds it back. Splatana wiper wasn't top tier until its paint buff, and for a good reason. Krakon roller is still a mediocre weapon, where it can do what wiper and tetra can do, just worse.
Does your Build really need stealth jump? I think it would probably be more valuable to just do a main of something else as stealth jump slows down the super jump from your beakons and beakons don't show when you're gonna show up to them anyway. I don't really think beacon weapons benefit from stealth jump tbh.

Krak on roller is the same as it was in Splatoon 1 a weapon stuck in the "could be good" hell. Slow, noisy and can't run away from enemies and depends way too much on your teamates. despite it's playstyle being portrayed as an infiltrator it sucks at doing just that because it requires way too much map control in order to get behind the enemy line it can play support, but the nature of the roller playstyle means that it has to be out there doing something at all times which means setting down your beakons in your own ink at the start of the match and pushing them further up as the match progresses, or close line support for your friends grabbing a few kills here and there with it's kraken everything this roller does, the Vanilla Inkbrush of splatoon 1 could do WAY better with the exact same kit if it had any other sub aside from beakon this roller would be better, that's the reason it was completely irrelevant after the summer patch of splatoon 1
Your video highlights great points, and I agree with all of them as a roller main! But the key fact is here is that unless your team is committed to running dive and squakons, there’s genuinely no point to play krak on when 96 is in the game. Better main that can actually be remedied with intensify while roller dosent have mpu, sub it can play for itself with, etc. roller is flawed and it’s sad 😭 That being said, once a short range shooter or god forbid wiper gets kraken it’s over

In all honesty I still think Squid Beacon on a roller is just mid. It's a supportive sub on a slayer in the same way that vDapples is, and it just doesn't work as well as something like Trislosher Nouveau as a support-slayer hybrid. I feel like a kit that is *more* supportive than the current would be fair, something like Fizzy Kraken. Beacon would have been better on a hard support like Swig.
My problem with KrakOn isnt actually the roller itself, but for SOME REASON I have YET to see someone succeed with it. Granted I mainly play Turf and Open, but you would still think at least SOMEONE would excel with it.
Doesn't Quick Respawn not work if you get a splat...? Why would you run QR with a Roller that has Kraken...? This just feels like it eats up several slots-
I feel like this is one of the few weapons that should use tenacity, considering it won't be painting for special much anyway since it's a roller, this could be better to automatically fill it up

This weapon is grossly underrated. everyone just jumped on 96 and forgot a weapon that uses this special better and is way more fun to use.

Nah, tenacity works better on back lines since backlines wouldn’t be dying all the time. If anything krakon should just use special charge/saver
