Well the more compact something is the more expensive it is. They want PS5 to be affordable not something that cost like an Iphone 12. They could probably put an nvme/m.2 storage instead of a solid stare, but a terabyte will cost tou an arm and a leg. It sure as hell would help making it smaller. The graphics card being powerful will emit more heat hence the large heatsink. That is why pc's will never be portable/smaller because people don't want to sacrifice power. They would rather put more fans in there lol. Besides another 20 years maybe it will go back to being portable again.

Definitely should open up your ps4 pro, replace the thermal paste and clean the heat sink/radiator of dust. I did it a few months ago as mine was unbearably loud during Dreams and Warzone but after less than half an hour of tinkering and cleaning I've had it silent ever since. So simple to do and so effective.

60 FPS mode being standard this generation was my biggest concern and since Spiderman had it added I'm almost certain it will be standard for most games, so I'm convinced.

Definitely should open up your ps4 pro, replace the thermal paste and clean the heat sink/radiator of dust. I did it a few months ago as mine was unbearably loud during Dreams and Warzone but after less than half an hour of tinkering and cleaning I've had it silent ever since. So simple to do and so effective.
Did you use compressed air? I didn't have any so I just used some paper towels and blew in it lol. But Mines still loud.

But I love the look of the PS5 so I want to get one before the original style is replaced with a "slim."

60 FPS mode being standard this generation was my biggest concern and since Spiderman had it added I'm almost certain it will be standard for most games, so I'm convinced.
