I like the increased frequency of system bricks in technic sets, 99% of their existence is sitting on a shelf looking pretty so the tiny amount of visual polish is nice
You're correct, and it's not like the system pieces are making this set less functional.
I will never grow tired of your building reviews. While some of the complaints might be justified, it looks close enough as to identify it easily, and it is definitely a cool build
That new part seems shockingly useful, I think it might be the solution to problems I'm having designing the tail rotor of my CH-146
Indeed. At minimum it's a stronger version of the classic 3L perpendicular axle/pin connector (pin holes being stronger than those thin-walled axle holes) and I'm all for that.
The reason for the shorter spout is because this is a forage harvester and not a combine harvester so it shoots the forage out the back rather than drop it so the length is accurate as with its extra momentum it will travel far enough
1x1 round sticker is crazy
agreed. I really hope that this is a oopsie lego did and not a new trend.
I think my brother positioned the mudguards half a stud off, and the wheels are bumping into them.
Thanks for the video!
I think it pairs really well with the previous John Deere model.
The scale is not the same.
@@jacekpietrzak445 i like them
yes it is@@jacekpietrzak445
I built this when it came out. I thought the build was cool, but it’s drastically different than the real life version. Great review!
Great review and I agree on your opinions about the set!
My opinion about the pieces of the set:
- The new c-shaped connector is going to be very useful because it will simplify the small connections to reinforce small structures.
- I would like to have more of these road tires for my Lego Technic creations and to be honest I'm somewhat happy that they appeared in the set.
- I'm glad that the recoloured green curved panels are not printed, otherwise they won't be useful for Lego Technic creations.
- Finally, the 28-teeth gears in an affordable set.
I had a feeling the choice of larger tyres had a reason as I noticed the clearance between the tyres and the arches is very small. I tried, out of curiosity, to swap the tyres on the smaller Batmobile Tumbler for the chevron ones but they're far chunkier than I realised and also couldn't fit. And it'd involve so much modification for such a smallish adjustment that I can understand why the tyres for the harvester was chosen.
Doesn't bother me too much and neither did the inaccuracies as this is a nice set. Very functional, good size for the price, a LOT of gears, and actually looks nicely built; the back end engine area is so well sealed up which is rare in a Technic set.
I don’t care about the lack of accuracy. It looks nice and I plan to get it and review it as well. About the stickers, won’t touch any of them. Hope this model gets some awesome alternate builds
I love when i hop on my pc and i just see a RacingBrick review of a new Lego set. Keep it up man!
It’s unfortunate that the head can’t be removed and replaced with a forager one, or folded up for road travel. Also, the hatch in the back is slightly accurate, it has one on each side, then one in the rear as well.
It is a good set, but the 2024 Mack Electric Garbage Truck is far more better for me. Thank you for the detailed and unbiased review!
Welcome back after your break. Love your videos
The new liftarm style pin connector will be useful
WOW! Definitely a GREAT set! Gonna buy it for myself! Thanks for this great reviews! They really help me decide which set to buy!!
Hope you'll have a great newyear Balazs!! Can't wait for your videos..!
This looks awesome and cool, but not a set I’m worth going for. The functions are okayish and I wish there was some introduction page since this is licensed by John Deere.
I absolutely love this set, completes my John Deere collection. :)
Love your videos and agree with what you said!
One of the reasons the spout is shorter could that that this is a forage harvester which shoot out their content into a trailer rather than dropping it like a regular harvester!
I don't know much about these machines, but the spout seems to be visibly longer on the official photos, and also on this video (after the first few seconds you have an aerial shot): ruclips.net/video/pc8NAKoXoRg/видео.html
Great video showing how it works! I would have liked to see the spout/auger long enough to reach the trailer. I also would have liked to see the gears not turn in the same direction. Are they deal breakers? I'm not sure 🤔
I own the tractor so I might be tempted on the next 2x VIP (now "Insiders") points
My granddad will love this. Just hope Lego keeps up with the John Deere branding so christmas shopping is way easier for him lol
i am happy tha lego is startig to make sets that are not 100 or 10 in price but not small
Awesome video, I love your lego set reviews! I think the reason the stickers cannot match the brick colour is that John Deere has a trademark colour called John Deere Green, and the stickers can be that specific colour because they are labelled with the John Deere brand name but the lego bricks are not :(
With what Lego can do at this size/price range I think they did a good job at making this harvester. Some details are not 100% accurate but what do you expect from a set like this? As for the gears, set 42102 (the small Claas) has the same problem with both the main and B models. But that's an even smaller set at around €10 when it was available so I think for what Lego can do, it's a great set. Same here with the John Deere: well done at this scale.
I think the reason the green of the stickers doesn't match the green of the plastic bricks is that the green on the stickers is the official, trademarked John Deere green, while the green of the bricks is regulal Lego green. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Great review as usual! The thing I'd most like to change about this model would be to get rid of the driving wheels and connect the harvester module directly to the front wheels in a way that lifting the module also disengages the connection to the wheels. I have no idea how to actually make it happen, and will probably end up waiting for someone to figure it out and put it on rebrickable. Do you think there is room in there to make such a change?
I actually really like the system technic build. I mostly am interested in city (im building a giant city) so having it minifig scale is really nice.
With the spout, I think it is okay, farmers can choose how big they want to spout to be, depending on the header they use, so this might be the shortest version you can get, and anyways its not to hard to extend it. I think it lokes pretty good, obviously this isn't a main display model, system would be better for that. But I think it is good. And I hope that we see more john deere stuff.
I would also like to see more John Deere stuff.
Happy new year! 🎉
The minifigure seat is pretty cool
I don't mind some system pieces to make some specific or small details, but when like half of model's appearance is created using system elements i don't really like it. Honestly, i would even prefer some bulky technic exterior of the model or barebone chassis look like the 2000s technic used to be. If i want sleek looking model i'll just buy some system set, e.g. speed champions, technic should stay technic
It's funny how lego assumes that people below 18 are not interested in reading things
I do miss when there wasn't such a distinction between technic and system parts. My first technic set was the original big red car chassis.
I like the functionality
Love Lego John Deere models, but price needs to be lower for this model in particular...🙂🍀👍
Picked up this one in mid December at my local Walmart. The next day they realized their mistake and the shelf was empty along with the rest of the Jan 1 sets they stocked early. That’s twice for me with that same store.
Not in anyway defending this poor pipe on this harvester, but this is a forage harvester and not a combine harvester. It shoots the chaff out from the spout and into trailers, so you are not supposed to drive next to it like your example and the chaff isn't falling down like regular grain would do from a combine harvester.
Its still a pretty bad pipe on it tho
Mayby the new frame/ beam can be used in i dubble wishbone suspension
With all these green from the John Deere models, should be able to build a thunderbird 4....?
I love this set but does anyone know if I can swap the corn header for a silage one I prefer it
Thanks in advance
I think the new piece is going to be used as a small axle housing.
Is this the first Lego Technic set in which there's a System chair for a minifig?
Please review the off road buggy
I wonder if John Deere be dictates the green used on stickers. It is their trademark color.
Great review, cool combination of technic and system, but not set for me. I much more enjoyed the mini CLAAS tractor. I don't think I have space for harvester in my city :)
GEARS! GEARS! GEARS! GEARS! GEARS! GEARS!
Have you had any further news on the new F1 MERCEDES CAR and Mclaren for March????
Can you please make a review for
the new off road buggy set I really want your opinion because I am thinking about buying that set for my birthday
That will also come next week
Thank you racing brick
It’s odd to me they advertise it as a combine harvester in the front of the biz but in reality it is a free rage harvester which are completely different machine’s.
I think they missed the mark with this set. I work for John Deere and have worked on the real mahine but i am on the fence with buying this set.
Yes, I'm stopping kids from writing first. Get rekt nerds.
I think it would have been better for lego to make the harvester a slightly bigger model (think 60-80 dollars) and make it more accurate to the real life machine, i think far too many details had to be compromised at this small scale.
I like the smaller sets to keep the price down, but I agree that especially when it's licensed, detail becomes more important.
Adults complaining about lack of accuracy in a
Can you send me one
The set looks completely fine and has nice features, people complain way too much these days.
I don’t really like this one tbh, it doesn’t look anything like the real thing. I find it great for kids but not for realism
i think this is one of the worst in terms of looking like the actual vehicle
Looks very sloppily designed, like they made it in a day
I’d rather buy a HARRYPOTTER set
I got mine with a missing piece (friction pin with pinhole)
So the spout is connected on its side until i get my replacement🥲
I just bought it
It toke me 3hours to build
