While this set is no laughing matter, your review had me chuckling throughout! The sheer variety of different methods you used to review and rate this set is worthy of a standing ovation! Well done, and thank you!
I was hoping to see it together with the tractor as well as to see if the trailer from the tractor set works with it well. Anyway it's cool that Lego started to add new types of connectors like the new one here and the one used for steering.
It is a pretty good set, looks fine and has a fair price. The one thing that bugs me is that just a few years ago they had the mini-Claas.....and for just €10 and at probably less then half the size it basically had the exact same functionality....
Another great John Deere to add to my collection! Will definitely get this set when it comes out and display it on my shelf next to the Icons Red Pickup Truck! Love the functions, as it looks so cute in that size. It’s pretty wide, but looks great with the classic green and yellow color scheme! Another great review as always!
You've got to be kidding me!! That new part would have been huge for one of my current projects. Over the past 1.5 years I had thought about how I could reinforce my independent suspension and it was just last month that I had found a solution for it. For those curious: It's an independent suspension based around the planetary hubs using the 5L suspension arms with just one stud gap between the arms. I used a single universal joint and a bracket with two small gears in the center. The problem with that suspension however was, that you pretty much have to have a beam between the bottom two suspension arms for structural support. But then I couldn't find a way to prevent the arms from beeing pushed outwards and this caused mild damage to the system over time. This new piece would allow for exactly that. The solution I had found wasn't bad either: I used those 1x1 beams with axles attached. One with one axle and one with two axles in 90° angle to each other. Two of the pinholes point upwards and are reinforced with a normal 3x1 brick and the extra pinhole meshes with the structural beam in the center. Reinforcing the upper part of the suspenion was trivial, as there was much more space. No shock absorbers or steering links in the way. Using the classis 7.8 studs large wheels, the whole system is just under 16 studs wide. Quite the powerful chassis, I gotta say
Immerhin bekommt es gute Noten als Teilespender. Das macht es überhaupt erst interessant darüber nachzudenken ob man es nicht doch mit Prozenten holen sollte.
I suspect what’s going on with the greens is that John Deere insisted the stickers be in their trademarked color, and since there isn’t a Lego green that matches, we get stickers in a different color. Because that mismatch looks more significant than usual, so I think it’s intentional this time.
The stickers aren’t going to match since John Deere green is trade marked and they want to use the green pieces in other sets. I agree the tires are wrong but the tractor tires look really close to rubbing.
I spent all my summers in a similar combine harvester when I was between 10 and 20 so for me this is a must buy. Just have to swap those front tires that don't make any sense ! Any chance we can modify the rotation of the wheels pushing towards the exterior ?
No, I think major changes are required to drive the harvesting unit via two gears rather than one - or you could try to use a vertical bevel central gear instead of a horizontal spur one.
I think it's better that you don't have to stick to embargo dates anymore. I used to prefer racingbrick reviews over yours when they dropped at the same time but now I don't think I'll watch them or anyone else's for that matter.
The review videos always give me mixed feelings: I'm spoiling the set and its functions to myself, yet Lego is too darn expensive to just go out and buy "a cat in a bag". Anyway, a great review as always, and a nice looking set!
Only 44 votes to go before you reach 10,000 votes for your flip calendar, guessing that will get 10,000 in the next day or 2. I think it's a really strong candidate to get approved, who wouldnt want a lego calendar. Good luck
Probably because they're pretty terrible at those too. Some of the Speed Champions sets used them in the past, and the issue is they're too thick to ever take a round shape and require an absolutely perfect prepped surface to apply. One small piece of dust, a skin flake, an eye-lash or anything that humans inevitably end up shedding, not to mention any grease form a finger, will result in a permanent mark or bulge on the sticker. And unlike the opaque ones, where you can kind of get away with doing them once again (I use a modelling scalpel for this, the ones for cutting stuff of of sprues), on transparent ones the glue works once and then promptly gets blurry if you try to remove the sticker after initial application. It's kind of a lose-lose situation as far as LEGO's stickers go, unfortunately...
It's annoying when fingerprints, dust, and bubbles get behind transparent stickers and make your model look forever dirty, but... on the bright side, if you buy the sticker sheet and bricks separately, you can build the model in whatever color you want.
@@vtr0104The trick i found for perfect transparent stickers is to use clear alcohol, you only have one chance to apply it although you are able to move the sticker around until you are happy. It pushes out all air gaps and looks perfectly clear. Another downside is it dissolves the glue so it’s going to peel off the sticker if it sticks to the part and the only thing that’s going to take that glue off is isopropyl but it damages the part finish in the process.

I feel like you could make a B model that has a trailer.
They don't fit same scale.
Wenn schon die Proportionen der jeweiligen Modelle nicht passen, wie sollen sie dann zueinander passen?

I think this one is a very nice one. It has lots of interesting parts too! The interior is very detailed for such a small set.
Lego needs people like you to review sets in order to make necessarily changes before final release.

You were the second channel I ever subscribed to back in February of 2015, it’s a shame your videos don’t get pushed as much as they should
Excellent review, as always. Good amount of functions for the size, and a decently efficient way to get a fistful of bevel gears of you need those too
I like it, will be a great piece donater for gears. The new frame piece will come in handy for mocs for sure. great review.
I do that too. I'll buy sets just for interesting parts.
@@pwcorgi2000For me there are two kinds of sets, piece donator sets and sets for display ^^
It's very nice to see such an early review! Thank you

They need to make this at a larger scale. Some sets are huge and havent seen one any bigger than this particular one
It has been Eons since the last harvester so i will definitly get this one :)
"Yep, black pins never happened." - Lego team, probably.
Good set, will go beside the other lego harvesters made over the years
Me: who knows its called "Auger"
Sariel: "Spout"
I think John Deere's own website calls it spout.
@@searme well thats rather strange then

1:55 could that piece potentially be used in steering mechanisms for smaller vehicles?
Yes, probably
Ciekawe, czy kiedyś może chociaż na Polskę wypuściliby model Bizona :V w wersji z lub bez kabiny
Do you see any immediately obvious ways to fix the rotation issue, perhaps relinquishing the center connector hub's symmetry?
No, I think major changes are required to drive the harvesting unit via two gears rather than one - or you could try to use a vertical bevel central gear instead of a horizontal spur one.
And now, do the tractor tires fit on the model? For me it looks like they touch the mudguard.
They do touch the mudguard just a little.
@@searme I'll consider upgrading a little when I will be able to have this set :)
Very glad to have your reviews !!
Merci patreons !

Anyway, a great review as always, and a nice looking set!
In my opinion, if they're not going to bother with B-models anymore they should include an official place for the community to upload theirs
Rebricable is not enought? Problem with official place is, that you cant share model udner 3rd party IP. Rebricable has not this restriction.
Awesome! Also very early to the party! :D
If a part of the tractor falls off, does John Deere sue you if you try to repair it?
Right to repair issues...
really wish this set was much bigger. the front "combine" area just looks...off at this scale.
👍
Sariel, next review will be 42164? I am interest on buggy steering system working that without HOG.
Yeah, I think so.

I like your video
Idk why lego waited this long for a companion to the john deere tractor that released a few years back
I could have swear the linifig could sit inside but ok...
The tires really kill the looks of the set for me
kinda ironic to release a JOHN DEERE Lego set...
Why Lego uses no transparent stickers? They never get the right colour... 🥲

Because LEGO has terrible transparent stickers. All fingerprinta are visible forever and is very hard to not touch them
