Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 3
Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and begins with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.
Little did everybody knew at the time, Georgie ended up successful as an adult which proved Dale’s point.
No, one good ending doesn’t prove anything.

@@christopherbingham5092 It’s true so thank you
Mary looks down on Georgie for selling things and praises Sheldon for being smart but it was Georgie's hard work that got them through tough times while Sheldon was treated like a baby.
it's a tv show. Not Real!
@@johndoe-hv3qj these kind of things happen to many times in real life so yeah people can have an opinion on these kind of topics
@@Fingerscrossedout no and it can. Georgie and Missy were the most intelligent when it comes to street smarts, Georgie knows the art of the trade and Missy knew how to deal with social situations. 2 REALLY important skills when you want to earn money, while yes Sheldon's intelligence was incredible. No one ever corrected him when he did anything socially incorrect, and were like "Oh wow quirky haha", no wonder he's such a loser in big bang theory
and look how it turned out, before Sheldon won noble prize thanks to Amy, Georgie is far more successful in life.
I mean, this doesn't really feel like "looking down" on someone, this is more just a general concern for her son's well-being. Going to college certainly wasn't a necessary step for Georgie to become successful. But High School? That's a different matter. Sure, it ultimately worked out, but it was probably a lot harder than it would have needed to be. Even back in the 80's, not having a high school diploma could SIGNIFICANTLY lower the chance of one getting a decent job. And again, it worked out, but having the ability to use his diploma to have more options would have been a good back-up if he didn't come up with any good ideas right away.
"Dale you know that he looks up to you"
"He does doesn't he?"🤣🤣🤣😂
Lies again? He should had transferred to another school
I love dale he’s hilarious
Fast forward 20 years and Georgie has the finest tire franchise in Texas.
Never patch, buy new!
All he had to do is wait one more year. It wasn't even that deep.
I love how Georgie immediately wants to pack when George tells him to get out.
Typical optimistic extrovert
*DALE MARY COMIN’ IN HOTTT-*
got me dying 🤣🤣🤣
I love Mary, but she always played favoritism with her kids. She praised Sheldon, because he’s smart. But Georgie is smart in his own way and Mary never realized that. Same with Missy , she is smart in her own way, and doesn’t need to be compared with Sheldon.
everyone was a genius in thier own rights sheldon = IQ missy=EQ and Georige was a genius when it came to marketing/selling
She did but she was worried about his future as any good parent would be. With Sheldon‘s intelligence and education she could be absolutely sure that he would find a good job about everywhere but Georgie with his extremely careless attitude was a good reason to be concerned.
idk why u deepin it Lol its a tv show not real life

Truthfully, I think I would have been a little more pissed by that. So Dale hadn't had the most perfect family life, but he is still a successful store manager.
Perhaps family & relationships are more important than business.

Finish high school at the very least. If you want to skip out on college to hustle go for it. Be practical and realistic don’t delude yourself into thinking you’re the next Zuckerberg or Jobs that dropped out and became a billionaire.

Catering to Sheldon at the expense of the two much better siblings just shows that the family dynamic was off. Georgie will be the one that grows up to save the family and allow his siblings to function. I don't think that is bad on his part
Well they don’t know that now 🤦🏻♀️
@@Icedpaperclips
No they don't. But Mary prioritises the 'smart' child out of the belief he'll be the successful one compared to her other two children who she one day dismisses as 'dumb as soup'.
This despite the fact Sheldon will spend a significant amount of his life doing unimportant and purely theoretical research and whiling away his days playing video games, watching movies and eating take-out.

Yeah no. Women aren’t supposed to talk in the first place
He did become a successful tire dealer, so he may not be as smart as sheldon but he got the skills
From what I understand, back then it was okay to drop out of high school since getting a job, earning a living, and working your way up wasn't as hard as today. It was kinda stupid though dropping out if he only had a year left of school, but at the same time its his life and he can figure it out. At least GEDs are available if he really wanted one. Can't do that in todays times because most jobs requires some sort of college degree aka a bachelors or a certificate, but you need a high school diploma or GED to get into the program for a certificate. Someone told me she only finished high school and applied for a secretary job, but they refused to even interview her because she doesn't have a bachelors.
But there was absolutely no need for him to drop out. He wasn't having a great opportunity that could pass him by, he just wanted full shifts in a local store. He could have kept working, got a diploma, and then worked full time. He didn't even CHECK if he could work full time before he dropped out.
And it really wasn't that okay to drop out. It still made a difference if your highest form of education was primary school.
Kicked out of highschool 6 weeks left .went straight to college next year and dropped out within a few months . Retired in my 30s and love the life i lived . If i could change anything it would be not wasting so much time at school and retiring in my 20s instead of 30s ;-)
Well in Western countries like USA, you can still make good living by working normal everyday jobs, being able to afford holidays overseas, and without anyone caring about your social status.
@@theunderrated86 that's incorrect.

Georgie ended up richer than Sheldon. (with 2 PhDs and a Nobel Prize.) Street Smart always prevail in real world scenario.
book smart is always on top though
Oh please that's just the lucky 2% of people. This is a TV show. You definitely have a better chance in life with an education while having those street smarts as well. It's not either, it's both!
It's always not about the money. and you forget how much money you get if you win nobel prize. Plus the respect and recognition that money can't buy.
Are there any Sheldon's in real life? I couldn't deal with one. I'll take a Penny, though.
@Christopher Bingham and Sheldon own his ladder to success of Georgie's money making mindset.
He should’ve done this when Georgie when he ditched the football team 0:22
Why?
@@joshuadesautels To make George senior look like he's worse and incompetent as a dad than he already is
There’s a big difference between quitting a sport and quitting school
Well here’s my take. I finished high school and did a bunch of jobs, now I’m running a logistics business with a partner, doing all right, better than most 9-5 workers I guess. Well at least finish high school, any further education is only really needed when you wanna do things related to science, medicine, engineering etc the sort of thing that really needs “book knowledge”.
Georgie became, I believe, a millionaire(?) so...I think he did the right thing in the end
I mean having the high school diploma gives you basic access to things. Never know when you might need it.
Besides, working, saving your money, all good things.
Yah but Georgie is fine because he becomes a millionaire anyways 🤚🏼
@@j.b9469 but no one could’ve known that back then. Sure, he turned out fine. But a lot more dropouts didn’t turn out fine.
@@blue4u2054 You should need the right skills more than the right education
If it were me I would have given Georgie an ultimatum; either go back to school or get a job, I wouldn't have him staying with me rent free.
@Christopher Bingham not only that, but Georgie did start paying rent to his parents, plus a share of the utility bills. They had Sheldon prepare an agreement on this.
0:05 Missy: Oh good more drama
I do not regret finishing high school but I do regret my college diploma. I had already been working as a mechanic for several years while I was in college (no flipping burger for me) and I wish I had stayed with that. My mom and dad couldn't stand the idea of their son in a trade. They talked me into an office job that I hated and that didn't last. I spent the next 30 years chasing marketing jobs when my diesel skills would have had jobs chasing me. Hind sight sucks.
I hope you were able to get back into the work you enjoyed. It sucks when parents do that to their kids.
@@ThePrimeMinisterOfTheBlock for context, my dad started out as a machinist. It was hot hard, dirty work. In my parents day a college degree was the ticket you needed for a nice job. I think a lot of parents do this even now. As a parent it's hard to see your kid as grown up or to take the time to keep and hands off attitude. I never pressured my kids to do anything and they turned out pretty darn good. Oh. . . .it's funny but my dad never graduated from college. He couldn't pass the English requirement. He did pass all the math and engineering requirements back in the slide rule days. He worked as a mechanical engineer for most of his life but always felt a bit inadequate not having that degree.

George and Mary were wrong to say that Georgie was throwing his life away by quitting School
Bro Missy looks just like a young Kate Mulgrew
It was just one more year. Georgie should have completed high school. Education is not only for earning a job
Georgie in Big Bang Theory: Missy was a dumb teenager.
I believe that. And I get the feeling Mary told Missy what's she's done was sinful.
Breaking news! There is sin! There is no right religion! Teens are allowed to do whatever they want as long as It's legeal!
Mary is the one character I do not like mainly because she wants everything to go her way. FRIDAY MARCH 4th, 2022
I have a friend who can relate to Georgie. My friend Billy Wrobel(now a former friend) dropped out of high school(Mallard Creek) when he was a sophomore(2015-2016). Billy once told me that he was locked up in Juvenile Detention Center for 2 months but it is currently unknown what crime he did that got him locked up behind bars in Juvenile. Starting with 2016(February or March), he stayed away from high school. He never came back for his Junior(2016-2017) or Senior(2017-2018) years.
that's not his real name, right?
Georgie is an earner that must have helped when his dad died
It did Georgie said that after their dad died and sheldon was away Georgie was the one who stepped and tried to hold everything together
cool
Georgie wasn't intrested in absolving college and university. He thought he would be rich if he would work for money.
“Throwing his life away” … what bullshit Mary is saying!
Its mah lafe
Dale is too irresponsible, meemaw is worse. I agree about business, but there is even a chance that he could out of business, so diploma could get his higher chance to get a job so he can earn more big money, and he is finally got one year left
Considering he owned the biggest tire company, no
diplomas are worth less than nothing. Even 4 year degrees aren't worth much anymore. If you are enterprising and full of energy, you can write you own paycheck without having to grovel to an ungrateful boss.
So people are saying that because he later became a successful car seller that justified it. The thing is realistic if we think about this like someone actual life that doesn't make sense and we can't actually say if perhaps he would have done something even more amazing with more breadth of knowledge. Maybe unlike sheldon he could have become successful as an engineer or inventor combining his sales, mechanical and breadth of knowledge gained in life. It is good that in the end he did become successful, but education is important especially when we begin to recognize we live in a country where half the population believes multiple counter scientific things about things that actually may affect our understanding of things more relelvent to our daily lives in ways we dont realize as well as our understanding of issues. Georgie deserved to find his own path, but he was actually quite intelligent and in that sense it is understandable why his family might be worried about him not finishing college. While it is good to understand people unique focuses, labeling it street smarts only can actually instead limit the true versatility they have when that may actually simply be the direction they have felt pushed or have benefitted from the most support in especially when he seems to have a large ammount of skills revolving around tactile related abilities not necessarily solely sales skills(his ability with the tires originated as noticing a tactile ability and his already developed sales ability intertwined). Of course at the same time, I also think it is false to assume people can do one thing or learn just one thing but tv shows and our society often present it that way too
The fuck is that song at the end?

Controversial opinion. And yes, before anyone jumps at me, I know it's a comedy and it's fake. But looking at real life, in developed countries like USA and most Western countries, a diploma, degree, or certificates sometimes buy you nothing in life in return for the mass amount of money spent for it. You can just make a good life by working normal jobs in Western countries anyway. But it would be the complete opposite in third world countries.
