Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 14
Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and begins with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.

I just want to recognize how good the writers are.
They successfully make Mary such a frustrating character.
She is Sheldon's mother.
that's how many people see hardcore Christians, not good writing at all mate. I feel like if this episode wasn't made, you wouldn't even notice. Each episode should tie together in one way or another. And its supposed to lead to who Sheldon is, in Big bang theory. This makes me like the cheating worthless father, and hate his mom and sister.
If a normal christian got a free lotto ticket that won, they would be saying right away that god gave it to them and they didn't have to pay. This show is trying to create drama for no reason. Unless its to tell us, the viewer to GTFO, asap, like Sheldon did and his father. She is such a great christian, she ruined her family and made everyone leave her....right good wrighting
The best part about the writing, is if you're a nerd, you won't know they are making fun of you. And if you are not a nerd, you won't know you're/they're making fun of us nerds

hahaha Missy is the best.
“half of that is mine I prayed for it.”
The way she angrily says "It is not his money it is his Uncle Phils" Makes me think they have had that conversation more than once.
Mary really goes out of her way to destroy anything resembling fun.
Isn't that pretty much the agenda of every Jesus freak on Earth fear mind control heretical hypocritical blasphemers Rastafari Tucson Arizona Sonoran Desert yes I keep on keeping
Apparently anything funny can be a devil's thing. A good example, though fictional as well, is on a movie that happens in the middle ages; when several branches of the church were so convinced having a good time and laugh was so bad, they put ancient Greece comedy books on the forbbiden sections of the library and one of the monks even put poison on it because "if joy kills fear, then why would anyone turn to God?".
Fun is a sin to Mary.
This woman actually threw away $500 that is a whole new level of stupidity
Note that this episode occurs shortly after George catches Mary smoking with Pastor Rob, so he doesn't understand why Mary compromises on smoking and not on a lottery ticket she didn't even buy in the first place.
Its no wonder George cheats on Mary and they have a divorce....and then every member of the family abandons her
@@ravinraven6913 I don’t think everyone abandoned her. Sheldon was traumatized from this remember so I think he’s closer to his mother than his father after that.
Mary has cheated with Pastor Rob in her dreams already. George sees how she acts with Pastor Rob and how every time he approaches her for sex she reacts as though it is repulsive.
Probably because the Bible doesn’t consider smoking a sin
@@pisces2569 My father's attitude on smoking was that he'd discourage it for his kids,
And tolerate it from others, so long as the smoker has their priorities in line.
One crazy lady bought a lot of cigarettes and no food for an elderly woman (potential elder abuse), so my father confronted the irresponsible woman by phone
"I respect your right to smoke, but taking care of that elderly woman is top priority right now!"
At Walmart, we saw one crazy lady buy a bunch of cigarettes, and neglect to provide clothes for her kids. That made my father furious.
“When did your dreams die?” “When we had kids” 😂😂😂 excellent comeback
Their dreams were buried 18 feet deep!!!
That's six feet deeper per child. LOL 😅😅😅
My God Mary is so frustrating... She's so obsessed with being "Godly" that she doesn't even realize how much it affects her family, and not in a good way...
I agree totally. Whoever writes her parts in this show has strayed into the world of that meme about religion that goes, "I can't do that - it's against my religion" and changes to "You can't do that - it's against my religion." They've turned her into a bigoted and highly annoying character.
LoL...
It’s the bare minimum
Secularist mindset corrupts society into sinners.
Following basic principles of God is too much now?
"When did your dreams die? When we had kids" 💀
It's one thing for Mary to force her sometimes ridiculous beliefs on her family, but when she tries to force them on total strangers it becomes intolerant and judgmental. She has no right forcing her attitude on the cashier at the gas station. She didn't want the ticket but didn't want him to have it either. And technically when she threw it in the trash, she abandoned control of it. And while she might be able to control her kids, George had every right to keep it once he had possession of it.
THANK YOU!! she just assumes everyone is a crazy Christian like her
Rest in peace so sorry ops
Why he did the right thing .what was wrong
@@editzzz6518She also seems to forget all that stuff about how her God died for everyone's sins and how forgiveness is divine.
If Mary doesn’t condone gambling, which is actually good, then there’s nothing wrong with her refusing to enable someone else when she has the chance to. Her ticket, she won it. She believes gambling is dangerous and hurtful, even if she doesn’t want it herself that doesn’t mean she’s obligated to let the cashier have it. It’s her ticket, she can choose to throw it away
"Its not his money, its his uncle Phil's"😂😂😂😂
"WHEN DID YOUR DREAMS DIE'". Words i ask myself everyday.
"when did your dreams die?"
"When we had kids"
Got me LOL 😂
Mary is conflicted, not a hypocrite. She wants what’s best for her family, and she thinks that is setting them on the right path for heaven, but at the same time she also wants to stick to the ridiculous rules, but also break them by doing things she enjoys.
Nope. Hypocrite.
Like most "Christians "
no shes a hypocrite, she wants whats best for her family and then she adds connotations to something that's clearly not there. She is saying SHE knows whats best and god can't do something because such and such..no that's a bad mom and why she ruined her family. she cares more about her own opinion of god than what god actually stands for. she obviously doesn't have a relationship with Jesus or god if this is how she is.
Try to do the best and yet she did the worst. Look at Sheldon as an adult, people LAUGH AT HIM DAILY...even the people who only see moments of his life think hes an idiot. She is one of the worst mothers, at least he was smart enough to be able to use his brain and get away from her as soon as he could.
@@felicialightfoot2380 Agreed. On TBBT she has an extramarital affair and all she can say is she "struggles" with what she thinks god wants.

Mary talks about being extravagent but I saw in another clip George riding his motorcycle. How did he manage to get that purchase past Mary?
Mary only became like that after Missy's dangerous birth
He had the bike before he married mary. After missy was born, mary became religious
Though he already had it. There has to be something that makes him cheat on her and the family break up. That can't happen if hes always doing what she likes

missy still has that humer i love it
Until she became a teenager. Then she became a pain in the ass.
She’s so blinded by faith
Sometimes I wonder is Mary actually Meemaws daughter or is she adopted?
meemaw explained why mary is in this way. mary used to be a rebel but when she gave birth to missy the docs said that missy prob gon die so mary prayed to god and promised to believe in god if missy lived
Mary really reminds me of my mother... Which makes me frustrated.
Gambling is a sin?
The Bible never says that gambling is wrong. If it becomes a problem or the money used is needed for other things, sure...but that's a personal conscience thing. That being said, personally, I think the lottery takes advantage of those who have the least to spare and encourages faith in chance rather than concrete things you can do to improve your situation, so I don't support it. But sure, I would keep the money.
It's poor stewardship.
She does not believe in the bible she believes in her interpretation of what the pastor said or she made for herself
That are doing the most religious people they do not read the bible or Rita they are searching for an argument to point their opinion and apologise their behaviour
If you really follow the bible you are soon recognise that it helps you in your life and does not distend your marriage or Familie or that every one dislikes you
🙄I know many who are addicted to Bingo - saw many church ladies spend grocery money/rent money/utility bill money at church bingo trying to win $500.
Point is, the lottery is no worse than church bingo. What you say - it helps with providing for the poor ....?😏
Thats the first most relegious person i've seen in a show
Although I agree with Mary when she says to get an affordable one. That's cause you never know what happens in the future, so saving the money is a good idea.
It wasn't gambling as she didn't buy it. Effectively God sent it to her...
Where is the “money can’t buy happiness”? Mary? 😂😂
a real life mary would be hard to be around tbh lmao
Just like a real-life Sheldon.
Me personally, I'd rather put up with a real-life Sheldon than a real-life Mary
*they bought dishwasher*
The the expression on the cashier’s face at the gas station and his body language are saying, “Damn. I shouldn’t have let her take it from me”. ‘Missy’s’ right, Mary is lame”.
Every time I hear Mary reference being a Christian I hear Leonards mom telling her to read another book 😂
lol literally in my mind I’m like “she didn’t buy it so it’s not gambling”
you don't know what gambling means do you?
gam·ble1. play games of chance for money, you don't need to spend money to gamble...people who speak English are truly failing if they don't understand the language they speak......
Opening a collectable trading card game booster pack is also gambling. Gambling exists in many ways outside what you are visualizing right now, I imagine.
for how smart Sheldon is, his viewers sure are idiots
Honestly though if she wasn’t going to use it she should’ve just let the cashier have it. Good for you if you don’t want a free scratcher but you can’t control the the actions of others
I feel for Missy I wish Mary hadn’t taken away the scratcher from her (like Mary threw it away!)

If they give you a free scratcher you're not actually gambling because you didn't actually wager anything.
A devout Christian would see the scratcher as a gift instead of a wager, and the winnings as a blessing from the Lord. Her prayer was heading in the correct conclusion.
The way Missy is looking like her TV mommy
Fresh Prince reference was hilarious
gambling is only wrong when you do it all the time, just like drinking wine
In my life? I think I’ve bought 2-4 tickets? And haven’t won but $2 so basically I just got my money back I spent on it lol. Didn’t even waste my time on telling my family I won it. And I love this show it’s cute, funny and relatable all around. And I wasn’t born til 98? But I also loved the fresh prince of bel air lol.
Were can you watch all of season 5
"I don't believe in gambling" actually if you didn't buy the ticket, it's not really gambling. It was a free gift, hence you do not risk losing anything. Also, if you buy a scratch ticket for someone else or they buy it for you, that is a gift, and it is meant to provide joy. If you called that gambling then going to the movies would be gambling too.
The only argument one can make about scratch tickets being bad when you don't purchase them for yourself, in the eyes of god is that you're benefiting off of other people's suffering if you win. But what they do with their money, sin or not, is their business. As long as you're not spending money so you do not support the business in any way, it's fine.
Think of it this way, if you feel guilty that the FREE lotto ticket that you DIDN'T pay for would be hurting others, throwing away the ticket would leave the prize unclaimed and so the business would keep it. Then that prize either goes to funding them or their next prize pool, which doesn't do any good. Instead, if you win it you give the money to charity, so someone DOES benefit from it.
dude, look up the definition of gambling. By your logic, if someone dropped $100 and you picked it up, you wouldn't consider it stealing even though it is.
gam·ble verb 1. play games of chance for money; bet.
Nice to see so many people playing loose with definitions to fit their own narative. Justifying this as not gambling one day, justify why picking up that money isn't theft, what else would you justify? murder? real question as it seems like our country(USA) morals only exist when it helps us out.
