I went to make these for our dinner club last night but didn't see the recipe on your blog...yikes upto 48 wait. Anyway, I winged it just by watching the video and they were beyond scrumptious!! So glad I made extras because everyone had at least 2...one guy ate 4! we had to roll him home! Seriously, these are fantastic! Fun food!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Dear Laura, would you make empañadas please?? Thanks so much in advance, I've been searching for this recipe for ages but there are so many different ways, so I need a recipe from a really good cook... And you're the only one I trust :)
I love you Laura! Just found your channel last week and my mom and I have been going crazy over your recipes! I know we're definitely going to be making these peach pies :)
you look AMAZING laura! so beautiful inside and out :) i love that your recipes are so quick, simple, and delicious... thank you and keep up the hard work!
I just made these. I did decide to cook the filling because some of my peaches were not as ripe as others. I ended up adding a little vanilla, and some brown sugar. However!!! I made your crust with the cream cheese! Oh MY GOSH! Well, I screwed up and put the cream cheese in the freezer...don't do that. It got hard. I just put shortening and butter back in and let the cream cheese get a little softer than proceeded. The crust is flaky and crispy, sweet and just all over delicious. This will be my go to crust from now on!! Thank you!
will try this next weekend. today i'll try the first time sheet cake with yeast, fresh plums and crumbles on top. a typical german cake. last weekend we have cheesecake with gooseberrys an crumbles. everybody liked it.
Im literally in love with you. I love you so much. Ive only been subscribed to you for like abweek and ive watched EVERY SINGLE video. I love you so much, keep up your rad stuffff.
Oh here's a tip for the plastic wrap, And aluminum foil, before you use id on the sides there are(in this case the blue) diamond shape, tabs, that if you press, it holds the roll in place. Love your channel by the way.
hey Laura on the side of the saran wrap box check for an arrow and just push it into the carbon rod and it will hold it in place :) just a little FYI much easier to work with
Found this on google: In most cases, margarine and Crisco can be used interchangeably, but be aware that the margarine will contribute slightly less fat and slightly more liquid to a recipe than shortening. For example, a pie dough made with margarine may require slightly less liquid than one made with all shortening. To substitute Crisco for margarine, the makers of Crisco recommend adding 1 1/2 teaspoons of water for every 1/4 cup of shortening substituted.
while making laura's ultimate nutella cookies and waiting for them to be ready to come out of the oven........here comes another baking recipe xD thank you for all the great recipesss laura♥
Hi Laura!! GBY, your recipes are sooooooo gooooodd!!!!! Thanks :) I want to ask, can I use a different filling ( like chicken)? I enjoy so much your videos, thanks again ...You are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!! Many blessings for you and your husband.
Plenty of people use food processors for this recipe for convenience. Chef John isn't the only one who has used food processors for this particular crust. I do it all the time when making butter crusts because it's both easier and faster than doing so by hand.
Hi Laura! Just wondering, can I use this crust as a substitute for puff pastry in making croissants? I love your recipes! Sadly, puff pastry isn't really available where I'm from. Hope you see this question. Thanks for the great videos! Stay awesome! :)
hey Laura, if you push in the blue tabs on the side of the plastic wrap box, it keeps the roll in place so it won't fly out every time you try to rip a piece!
Hello Laura, I love your videos and today I decided to subscribe to your channel. I noticed that the recipe doesn't match the amount of ingredients you used in this video. For instance, in the recipe you suggest to use 2-3 tbsp. of water but in the video you used 6 tbsp. I would also like to know if the amount of flour in the recipe is the amount you used in the video or was this cut in half? I really appreciate your response as I would like to try this recipe. Thank you so much.
Laura, love watching all your videos. Try lightly coating the inside rim of your vanilla paste jar with cooking oil or vegetable shortening to stop that pesky sticking of the lid. :)
There are tabs on both ends of the plastic wrap box that you can punch in. That way it holds the dispenser roll in place and makes it easier to get the plastic wrap out. :)
You could use a blender and just pulse it like you would in a food processor. If you don't have any applications like that, then just chop up the cream cheese, butter, and shortening really really tiny (careful not to handle them too much or they'll heat up) and mix them in with the flour and salt then add the water slowly while mixing with a fork.
I'm sure it would, but since apple pie filling can be canned, I was just wondering if this could be adapted. As her recipe sounds so tasty and I love peaches in the winter, but obviously hard to get as tasty.
Hello laura i am a big fan of yours from the very beginning you started!!! A friend from italy came over and brought me some treats from there. There are little pockets small as the fourth of our finger and they have a soft crust and inside there are nuts with sugar and some kind of alcochol! I would apreeschiate it if you could help me make them!!! Thank you!!
Just wondering. You said use in season peaches since it will not taste the same. Is there a way to adapt this to maybe can the filling? So it is possible to make these in the winter?
No margarine and vegetable shortening are different things. that margarine is diferent where I live is yellow too I think the white margarine is more prosseced. And the vegetable sortening has more fats, I hope this helps
Dear Laura, can I substitute vegetable shortening with margarine? Also, hoe long does the dough can keep if it was stored in the freezer? Thank you, cheers! :D
I made a peach cobbler using your recipe and it turned out amazing!!! Can't wait to try this one!

laura, look on the plastic wrap tube on each end; there is a blue tab there; poke those in and it will hold the roll of wrap while you pull out
I made it already and I used caned peaches instead of fresh and it came out perfect
+SammyandLeslie4ever Canned peaches? Did you use the same ingredients for the filling?
+MsLansones yes I used the same ingredients. Just dump out the water that's in the canned peaches
SammyandLeslie4ever Thank you! :)
Why doesnt she have her own cooking show on food network? this woman is amazing!
There are tabs on both ends of the plastic wrap box that you can punch in. That way it holds the dispenser roll in place and makes it easier to get the plastic wrap out. :)
