LOL...where I live these are called apple flaps and are usually deep fried in stead of baked in the oven and are sprinkled with course sugar. They are usually eating on New Year's eve ( right next to another all time favorite for this occasion here: Oil balls), but can be bought all year round. But I still feel like it would help for some of the ingredients where we can’t really visualize how much of an ingredient you’re using, you tell us the ballpark amount. Thanksgiving is coming up soon.. and I was wondering if the dough recipe for hand pies would translate to rolled dough for pumpkin pie.. I use my old family recipe for pie dough.. flour, shortning or butter and a couple tbs of cold water.. this is off the top of my head so might have missed something.. but, this dough sounds like it would be fab for pumpkin pie..wondering if it would be too dense for whole pie..help and thanks

Lol bakery police lol ...i think strawberries are full of water and unless you were using a pre cooked less sweet preserve type or compote i think it might be a mess ive done it and the dough is almost just a tent for a thick berry layer at the bottom of the crust making it kind of gummy..ive not had good luck with this but i did bake an empty crust and then served it broken up with fresh berries i had already cleaned sliced and added sugar tossed then refrigerared so i added those berries and tossed it up and topped each dessert glass with whipping cream so it was a deconstructed fresh berry pie and for garnish i added a sprig of mint and drizzled the berry juice from the fresh berries i had cut and prepared with sugar the color drizzled over the white cream is beautiful esp with the dk green mint sprig and pushed a small whole berry next to the mint. Tastes like heaven..

You can find it on her website....2-1/2 cups of All Purpose Flour 1 cup (2 sticks) of Cold Unsalted Butter, cut into small pieces 1/2 cup of Cream Cheese, cold straight from the fridge 1/4 cup of Granulated Sugar Pinch of Salt 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice 6 to 7 Tbsp of Ice Cold Water For the Apples: 2 Tbsp of Butter 2 lb of Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced 1/3 cup of Granulated Sugar 2 Tbsp of Flour 1 tsp of Cinnamon Eggwash (one egg beaten with a touch of milk or water)
