I would actually be super inerested to see you re-visit this one in a slightly longer form because WOW this game has some serious bones already and the potential is actually INSANE. The systems that are already in here are impressive and the dev seems to be ripping and tearing through planned updates, adding more and more and fixing issues like crazy.
As a backer of Star Citizen, this is a game with a lot of potentials! Keep Improving, and it could one day become a single-player (or co-op) equivalent of Cris Roberts' ambition, slap CIG in the butt by fulfilling players' space dreams without the torture of bugs, crashes, and eternal wait. I love Star Citizen but it seems to have pretty much lost the motivation and needs a push badly, and any major or minor help is welcomed.

5 minuets was enough for me to get the game, now I learned it's just one guy in his basement?! Talent like this needs to be supported. Nice review warts and all.
I feel it is kind of funny when Splatt makes fun of ingame text when he himself always imagines words he reads that are not written down on the screen :)
The scope of this looks really ambitious, like an indie game company trying to pull off a Mass Effect. Not expecting AAA polish but as long as it's fun, I think it will be a hit.
Hey Splat, you mentioned life is throwing some rough stuff your way, Keep your head up and keep positive, best of luck with all that going on, just as your videos have helped me through some rough times i hope this comment can keep some positivity in your life thanks for every video!
This was a fun watch. I laughed at the Smem comments. I picked this up last night and got to this last mission. It definitely has something special to it. Feels like freelancer mixed with star citizen. It also reminds me of eurojank pirrana bytes games like Elex. I happen to dig those games so I will probably stick with this one for a while.
this game is so awesome. i really just enjoy fly off in myship then get out and flying around in the space suit. i think they have the right ideal going.
The Ai voices don't seem too bad to me. Sure maybe the alien guy's voice doesn't really match what I think an alien might sound like, but in general I think it's a massive improvement over a text only interface. Also what did Dave ever do to you? :( :P
Yeah, the AI voiceovers seemed completely acceptable to me. It's actually surprising how good they are - I've tried some of the state of the art probabilistic TTS models recently and very few sounded as good as this.
Play Star Citzen for awhile, but the world building is just empty and still will be empty. This look decent, like mount and blade space combat. Will definitely try it once the dev patch more content or fixed.
i've only played a couple hours of it and i already love it, it scratches my freelancer 2 itch lol really loving the mix between space travel and combat mixed with ground combat, i cannot wait to see what this game is like once its refined loved going to random villages on planets and looting there stuff and having to kill an entire village just for stealing some armor lol.
That really looks impressive for such a ridiculously small team... one person. Dogfighting had real Freelancer vibes. Not sure if it is quite there yet but I've seen worse bugs in AAA release candidates...
i can never tell from watching splat play, and scanning through the video doesn't show me well. does this game have drifting like in freelancer? that was always the most important vibe for me in a spaceflight game and i never see splat even try it.
Fascinating what small teams can come up with. If the voice acting gets added, I may just buy this. Though that may be a chicken/egg situation of needing the money for the voice actors from sales.
Very much a chicken and egg problem. Very few RPGs, especially those with procedural content, are fully voice acted, not even at AAA level. I found the AI voiceovers acceptable. It would also be incredibly silly to add them before 1.0 when everything is still in flux and no guarantee you'd have access to the same actors to voice additional content that isn't created yet at a later point. The single (yes, single) dev is from Turkey; it's not likely he has access to a pool of English-speaking voice actors.
I can see the argument for asset swap, those explosions are very Unreal Asset Pack, but the game is also early in development, and the Unreal license is all about getting more people to make games. I'm super interested in this game now. Time to wishlist
The asset swap argument feels silly to me as long as the game is original and gameplay is solid I don't see the point of hating/disliking a game because of it, especially if it means games like this one can be made by one person
The jank/bugs aren't too bad for an Early Access game. If I remember correctly, this is a single developer (or maybe that was Spaceborne 1). This game shows a lot of promise, I hope the Dev(s) don't drop it.
Right as Splat said it I was thinking Mass Effect. This game has so much more going on than some $70 AAA titles. I know there's a lot of work left to go, but what's there is massive!

Star Citizen is looking great! Glad to see it wasn't just some scam. Oh wait, this is a different game. That works. Hunh.
Nice
Thanks for showing us this one. I went ahead and picked it up. Looks fun.
This thing is already better than Starfield and 1 dude is making it.
I've been off the SC grind for a while. I'm just over how long it has been with what it currently offers. X4 has been the most fun I've had the last couple of years with a space game. Oh yeah, NMS too! Talk about a redemption story! But I'm definitely going to dip my toes on this one! Good stuff
Bought! Another to the splatterlist
This looks like a nice, casual ME / Elite hybrid. Looking forward to see how this developes.
Hey bro we appreciate your work and content, keep your head up.
Low budget Star Citizen looks very, very promising. It went by in my daily queue yesterday and I didn't reject it, but I didn't look at it too deeply either. This video made me wishlist it. Where Star Citizen is just a long game grift, this looks like a labor of love and I think I could lose myself in it.
Low budget and made by one person.
I love Star Citizen.... being able to put ships in ships and fly around on a carrier and live out of that carrier is something you can't do in other games except for Empyrion. But this game also looks awesome, and I'm definitely going to pick it up and play it in between waiting for the major Star Citizen patches.
Hey bro, no need to apologize. Your life and fam comes first then spoiled us with your awesome gaming and game showing. Hope more positivity comes your way. 🤘🤘
We need more content on this game .. but thanks to your video I did buy it to check out myself.. thanks for the video. Subbed and liked!
I just got this game and thanks for this video. The game continues to get major updates it seems, and I'm having a blast so far :D
My man, hope everything gets better for you!
Crazy thing about this game is the one man developer which in my opinion makes this game so much more impressive an makes me appreciate it a whole lot more despite the Ai Voices an reused Assets. Just mind blowing honestly
I like the look of this game old Elite vet here and have not played any these sort of games for a while apart from Empyrion Galactic survival - just bought 2 games recently got this one lined up - thanks for the review looks fantastic
This looks like it could be amazing and is already decent from what I saw.
Cool part is it's only $19.99 at full price in EA and is on sale for $15.99 until the 24th.
I generally don't buy EA Titles for more than $5 or so but I may go ahead and snag this one.
Thanks Splat for helping to spend yet more of my constantly draining gaming budget...LOL
Just wait until games have the chat A.I. inside it. Scary fun.
When you said "Are beards in space acceptable?" the first thing that popped into my head was the old Muppets skit "Pigs in Space"...
BEEEAAARRRDS IIINNNN SPAAAACE!!!"
If nothing else this is a wonderful case study on what a single Individual can achieve by using every tool available
Hey Splat loving your channel. A Moon is 28 days on Earth so the MC is 4 Months in the rears (behind on payments). The whole game is early 90's -esque charming. Keep up the good work.😁
I would actually be super inerested to see you re-visit this one in a slightly longer form because WOW this game has some serious bones already and the potential is actually INSANE. The systems that are already in here are impressive and the dev seems to be ripping and tearing through planned updates, adding more and more and fixing issues like crazy.
Splat said Freelancer, instant pick-up for me. :D
I enjoy that you are doing longer videos lately.
They already achieved more than star citizen xD
40:51 🎵My bot's cut into pieces 🎸This is my last resort 🎶
Love the black and orange, makes you feel like you're cosplaying a MCRN marine.
Spacebourne 1 was just a taste for what was to come.
Preeeeetty amazing game here. 3rd person CRPG with stats and derived stats. Skills going up with use etc. Everything an isometric crpg player would enjoy.
Sorry things are rough my friend. We are here for ya though, thanks for all you do.
This game looks incredibly promising and definitely shows a passion by the developer. I might buy it for full price when it comes out of EA.
Man, you are really entertaining to watch and listen to.
Liked, subbed and bought the game on Steam.☺
5 minuets was enough for me to get the game, now I learned it's just one guy in his basement?! Talent like this needs to be supported. Nice review warts and all.
Thanks for the review. I like the look so much I bought it and started playing. This has real promise.
I would like to see more of this game. :D
human thinking, why star citizen is so expensive if one man can create a game like this ....
Splat please play this game on twitch. 1hr gameplay is not enough
"Unaffordables" is the best shop inventory category ever.
Hey Splatty. You're a good dude and a great content creator. Hope the irl crap settles down for you, wishing you good things. You got this.
Hey Splat, you mentioned life is throwing some rough stuff your way, Keep your head up and keep positive, best of luck with all that going on, just as your videos have helped me through some rough times i hope this comment can keep some positivity in your life thanks for every video!
funny how this game is able to get AI working better than star citizen
a high quality video, interesting game choice. very much worth it.
This looks insanely cool. Def adding to wishlist for 1.0.
We don't need Splat showing the aliens how to fight like this. Dave didn't deserve that man
This is developed by one person pretty amazing game! And the first one spacebourne
Splat when you started saying that you got killed in the jumpgate i had the the exact thought just before you started saying it ;D
gotta love those reviews that are less than an hour of gameplay.
i've only played a couple hours of it and i already love it, it scratches my freelancer 2 itch lol really loving the mix between space travel and combat mixed with ground combat, i cannot wait to see what this game is like once its refined
loved going to random villages on planets and looting there stuff and having to kill an entire village just for stealing some armor lol.
Misactor is apparently something mining related. You can apparently "mine" every surface in the game.
You think all aliens look the same? wow, dude. Just wow xD
I'm going to just ah, just go ahead and but this right now having seen your video. Looks fun for sure and I've played older games like it.
This one seems kinda interesting. It gave me Everspace 2 vibes.
Next game you gotta try is Carnal Instinct. I'd love to hear your commentary on it.
🤣
I know there's a lot of work left to go, but what's there is massive!
... Dammit. That RUclips channel is turning into an expensive habbit.
But I gotta thank you Splatty, I'd never heard of that game otherwise. It's janky, VERY early access, but it looks like sooo much fun.
wow this looks like it freaking rules
