Extra Tip: Land on a planet, Hit H, select your ship, call hoverbike. Travel the planet and look for oblisk type things; each one gives 100 adventurer exp. Best to do it early game to get that first perk to give adventurer exp. Also don't go too far from your ship.
@@101Flinx He must have changed that then b/c it used to be a rather small distance. Once I my hoverbike got destroyed and I had to spend 30 minutes jetpacking back to my ship.
Found out the other day that when you scroll the mouse wheel it changes, I assume, the % of engine being used. It’s great for landing, zoom in to pad fast then scroll wheel to power down and your ship slows down straight away and is much less twitchy.
Since 1.7.0 you can press CTRL+H while Stargate is near, to asking for a Jump quicker. Thanks for showing this game. "Everspace 2" i play since early access, awesome game aswell.^^
Power to engines helps reduce the aim wobble for pod catching, not much but it helps. Also some ships come with the ability to stabilise pods so you can avoid the faff with a single button.
Ok I have to agree with most everything you covered here. Let me just ad a tip for beginners. You can mine for lots of money on asteroids. You want to find an asteroid marked ASSORTED. You want to get into your little mining Machine Hover and set it for probes. Launch about three probes and watch their progress If they kind of head for the same direction then use the Tunneler setting and make a hole in the asteroid. Turn on your lights and go inside to see if you can see the Green Rock. If you can then put away your mining machine and go back into the hole with your hand Miner. If not then while inside Tunnel one more time. With practice you will hit the green rock regularly. Once you are hand mining ASORTAK hold the Miner still and you can get infinite ore from one spot to fill up your ship. It averages out to about 16 million an hour. All I did was tape the right and left mouse buttons down and set my mouse gently down so the laser would not move. I then did other things for an hour and came back delighted to see a full ship of Asortak. Its a great way get a jump on money in the game when you are a lowbie. Better yet set your mining up and let it go over night while you sleep. You will now have enough money to get you through the game without worry of finances. You can even buy a huge Flagship to conquer the Universe with. Good Luck. :D By the way,,,,,Mining gives you ADVENTURE experience so you can get to that Adventure PERK the Video talks about.
When I chose my faction type, the faction type window was bugged so I chose chaos because I couldn’t see the choices because the screen was barely visible at the very bottom edge of the screen with just the top showing. It’s a good thing you can manually set it
What about the Hover Bike on your ship that you can call to you when outside of the ship by going "H" and selecting your ship in the contacts list and the 3rd drop down option is call Hover Bike and it lands in front of you and when your far away from your ship and can also do the same thing but with your Ship to be Called Back to you !
Salute o7 CMDR - It's great that you explained about getting loot from ships but starting halfway through it isn't 'all' helpful, should have mentioned needing to get probes etc etc first bro.
oh? i saw a few gameplay videos recently about this game, but what you show here makes it look a lot more worked on than just early alpha, guess i will keep an eye on this game more frequently
I am debating on whether or not to get this one. I like to support small devs for games like these, and it does seem like it has a lot of potential. I am just not sure if it is exactly what I am looking for. I do appreciate the video Spanj!
@Wolfhors3 _ pretty good. There's obvious differences between 1 and 2 but for an indy individual dev surprisingly good. I have to say that if you like 2 you may just like 1 also.
Game looks amazing but I want to give developer time to flesh it out before I play. It won't replace Empyrion Galactic Survival for me but looks worth playing.
Your doing a great job explaining this wonderful game. Unfortunately I've lost the thread of the main story line, doing various tasks etc and it's not appearing under contracts anymore. Do you know how I can get get back?
hm thats not happened to me so I am not sure. The story is incomplete however and only around 6 hours of play to "finish" it so perhaps you just have done whats currently available?
Cntrl+h at Stargates and stations to automatically request passage or docking clearance. Doesn't work at most outposts and smaller stations. Caps lock for cruise mode Once you build your capital station and hit around level 10 or 20, take over a weak independent, all their stations especially since some of them give you Raw materials, tools, or tech points for upgrading your stations and army. Once you get enough materials, upgrade your geberals ships. At the time of writing this it doesn't actually take any materials from you but you must have them and their level must be high enough to do so. Also Once you have the capital station and resources, go to the command level, interact with the blue dome and build ad many levels of barracks as you can. Each one gives you another general for your army who can command 4 fighters or soldiers. Don't bother with the market on capital station. At the momen it doesn't work. Just build another regular station in the system somewhere. Cheaper anyway.. Money for your faction. This one is tricky. Owning systems doesn't actually deposit the money to you at the moment from systems. Stations do, but usually only 300TY per station or so Once a day. You can gain money from the people who live on stations capture in taxes, but also on the people you've done mail missions for and have not yet added to the army. You can also sell resources you have an abundance of for good money but usually I only do this to upgrade something then buy then resource I am low on with said cash. You can also deposit your personal money into the faction treasury but you can't take any back. In fact you might have to do so in the beginning to make sure you are actually paying your soldiers which come outs of the faction treasury. If you take every system a faction owns they are eliminated. I did this with the faction that kept attacking my stations, which I did take from them. But it stopped once they were gone. Until I started a new war with another weak faction of course. If your stations get attack, a pop up appears on the right side of the screen. Click the gear next to the pop up and dend your generals to defend it while you try to warp back. In some cases, you might not even need to go back. Since you don't get any of the money from systems, I usually spend it to upgrade security at those systems. Do this in the faction tab, then systems, then click on whatever system you own. To take a system for your faction, go to that system, hit t, then click raid mode at the top. Assign your geneals as you see fit, then once you are done at the bottom hit capture instead of plunder. If capture stays grayed out after you assign at least one general, you need to do an operation on any stations in that systems first and either destroy or capture it. Lairs on planets are also set as the mining icon so I haven't tried it myself but I'm assuming they are also mining locations, not just pits. Salvaging is not enabled in the game yet, don't waste perk points on that yet. Hope these help Spanj. Watching you play this inspired me to buy it and I've been playing none stop for about a week now and researching the discord and internet for these tips
This reminds me of Battlecruiser 3000/UC. Kinda like what BC3k wanted to be. I wonder if that developer had anything to do with this. Wasn't SB2 developed by a single guy? Thanks for this video, Spanj. I really look forward to buying SB2 soon, and this'll help a ton. EDIT: forgot to ask. How big are the planets? Are they tiny like in Empyrion?
It's definitely a classic example of early access, the game needs a lot of work and I stopped playing for now. I almost gave it a negative review on Steam, but I ended up giving it a thumbs up because it is still worth checking out and giving the dev feedback (for those who understand what early access means), but I also described many of the things I don't like about it. I wish Steam had a "neutral" review status because that's more accurate in my case.
I really would like to play the game. But as I did my research, I discovered that there are not many flyable capital ships. Seems like I have to keep on playing Empyrion or the X-Series, as a capital ship fanboy. Maybe some day there will be mods wich will address this, so I get a reason to play this game :) .
