I am so jealous of this guys talent... I have tried learning Unity and Unreal engine but at 52 my brain just isnt absorbing the info like I want it to. I really love this game. Its amazing and I want to see player driven mods, missions and expansions.

Yeah this is absolutely incredible. When someone stays focused they can achieve amazing things. I'm in same boat as you though. Check out Smartpoly's affordable UE5 tutorial to make full survival game.
Once you get to the end of the current story, you can have 5 squads. With more to come once your capital station inner upgrades are more fleshed out. The upgrades are there for more squads, but you can only purchase the first tier of upgrades. The other tiers don't seem to be purchasable yet.
I have 9 squads, using the world icon computer in the new HQ station meeting room you can upgrade them using resources from raids. I purchased them all. Sadly they arent all functional yet except commander upgrades for more squads.

Hi! It's been ages since I played and finished Freelancer - it's a great game! There's some similarities here, but I think the dev of SB2 wants to try and make it more "simulated" over time. I can't remember what the threat level of Freelancer means, but here the different Factions have different strength and resource production. I believe over time this should influence on their fleet and army strength, trade amount, etc. Let me know if that doesn't answer the question :)
You can destroy factions, i took over House Seregon by taking all their production buildings stations and systems, once i did this it said House Seregon destroyed. they are now greyed out in the faction list and the war was declared over.They had a village in the last system i took from them so im guessing villages are taken over when they lose control of the system currently.
I'm really enjoying playing the game. It's very "Freelancer" but with better graphics and everything. It's a pity the dev saying it's not going to be multi player. It would be a great game to play with a few friends. Kudos to the Dev though, it's a very worthy game so far.
Not sure if there are level caps. Seems like going past 40 things get a little static in terms of attribute gains/values for ships and equipment, but is something that should be looked by the developer later. Combat kills give very little experience compared to missions, so AFAIK the Mercenary Missions give the best exp at the moment. Not sure if there are any Soldier levelling tricks :)
@@GabeuxGaming I grinded from combat 5-15 in about 6-7 hours in a level 34-38 dungeon. No idea how horribly inefficient it was or not. Your tip about the explorer perk for passive exp from the other 2 branches saved me some major headaches.
I have a question you never asked, HOW do you receive your Misc Beam upgrade i am lvl 3 mining and have not yet found anywhere in the game my level 2 or 3 mining Beam that it states in the Guild bonus description. Can you please answer this it is bugging the hell out of me.

Hello. A lot of the exploration stuff is still placeholder/WIP. Personally, I've bumped into a random house with loot, later another one with a random quest, and also some strange things. Ground POIs can only be found by walking on the ground or with a hovetbike though. Space POIs are pretty much all placeholders/wip at the moment
True, but at the same time this is a perfect example of a game that CAN be polished. He's already released a pretty major patch in a month, and the design of it seems to be about making systems that can be plugged in and polished over time.
@@planexshifter i mean they're doing an online game whch is very different, plus they make all their own assets (this guy buys them) and to a higher fidelity. plus they're making 2 games at once...but yea...from a mechanics perspective this is embarressing.

Early Access game. It's very unfortunate, but at least the dev went through the steps to make the "new galaxy" compatible with old saves, rather than just letting it wipe everything. You don't make an omelet without breaking eggs and all that. Of course, I'm biased to say it :) But personally, that's my take on it.
Hello! I don't think the dev has any plans to release at the moment. Not sure how viable it is given the complexity, small budget and small team (solo dev when it comes to code and engine work) of the game. Thanks for watching!

I just got it and played the tutorial mission. So far, I like it and scenery and modeled objects are well done.
The Dev is an absolute mad lad. He's making Starfield - but good. On his own.

An old game fpr PC was Freelancer that had a threat leavel for different factions, it was great to use. Is there one in this game?

Are there max levels for the main 3 skills? Is it faster to grind dungeons or do mercenary missions for grinding combat levels past 15?
