I want to say thank you to the truck drivers. I was a law enforcement officer for 28 years. There were two occasions when I needed help. I was lucky enough to have someone stop and help me. Police are not superheroes with superpowers. They are human and need help sometimes. Again, thank you to the drivers who stopped to help.

That trucker was paying attention to road to pull that maneuver. That happened to me one night in Colorado 25 years ago. I was on highway mountain curve blew a tire, rolled and was trapped in middle of 3 lane lanes of highway traffic. A Safeway semi blocked all three lanes until emergency personnel arrived. He saved me from being hit from other cars.

I stopped to help her she had her kids with her and she called a tire shop they said it would be a couple hrs till they got out there. Her spare had no air in it but I told her that's fine cause I carry a air hose that hooks to my glad hand so I put air in her spare and put it on for her. Truck driver held traffic back on a twisty mountain road in case we dumped the motorcycle when the front tire had lost all it's air. Centrifugal force and speed were keeping it 'inflated'. If hubby slowed we'd start to wobble so this was gonna be tricky. Well, when we knew we wouldn't get run over if we did hit the pavement hubby made his move. Fastest controlled stop of any bike I've been on. Forever grateful to the trucker who had our backs. The tube was pinched inside the tire. When it finally went, it really went.

Most times when pedestrians are on a controlled access highway without a stranded vehicle, they’ve either been dumped, or most commonly, mentall ill. The dumped ones rarely fight police. Those truckers not only helped the officers, but definitely a citizen who was needing that intervention and restraining a mentally ill person often requires significant physical force because they cannot feel the pain of their exertion. Extra hands helps reduce the risk of injury to everyone, especially the person in crisis.

Yet another reason love truckers. Not only are they the bones and structure of our society but ive never meet a bad, mean, rude or annoying trucker, truely sone of the greatest people in the world without a doubt

As long as you give them respect they respect you right back. But for example say 1 trucker is having a problem maybe he is in the middle of a potential hijack and can't do annything, all he has to do is click the button for the Cb and say their location and that they need help. I guarantee that within 5 min 20-100 trucks will pull up most likely with a shotgun, and this goes for annyone as long as they have a CB or some way to contact them

When I was growing up, truckers helped State Troopers all the time. They would all line up across the lanes side by side and slow down to make cars stop that were running from the police. Troopers back then had CB radios in their cars and could talk to the truckers. That's how big of a help they were. They'd help look for kidnapped kids in a certain car or whatever it was. Today, a lot of truckers are bad people more worried about themselves than anyone else. It's unfortunate because they really helped the country out a lot at one time. Now, unfortunately, too many people getting into trucking are trash. They can't even drive a truck properly, don't care about road etiquette, and just plain shouldn't be driving. There are still some old school drivers out there that are great folks. I miss those days back then.

I was a trucker for 40 years, ran 49 states and Canada for 10 years. Never helped a cop, but I once helped a woman who was parked in the chain-up area on an icy mountain pass, literally petrified with fear of the slick road. Drove her car over the pass for her, then hitch-hiked back to my rig.
