  • We test the new Elite Omnia. New for 2023 the Elite Omnia is 347 fps with 24.5-30" draw length, 6" brace Height, Mass Weight 4.5#. We discuss the Omnia and how it compares with other bows on the market. We shoot over a chronograph. Then we test the Omnia at 18m to see how it compares.

    I own an Omnia. Same thing you noticed, that gritty feel. Mine was the bottom cam coming into contact with the cable as the bow dumps into the valley. Elite addresses this on their website, stating after using the S.E.T. you need to lay an arrow shaft along side the cam and confirm cam lean is not causing the arrow shaft to pass under the string. I used my draw board, rest set at 13/16", and used the S.E.T. to remove cable contact. Then paper tuned the bow. I needed to move the rest left, as I had no room to adjust SET or the cable would contact the cam again. I could have reduced the cable load by using the LTR, but then I would have some fletching contact with the cables. In the end, rest is now 27/32" (between 13/16" and 7/8" inch), and tail right SET adjustment with perfect paper tune and straight bare shaft at 20 yards. Bow is shooting 284 fps, 415 gr Easton Axis, 29" DL and 60.5# of draw weight.

    Great review as always! I recently switched from Mathews BACK to Hoyt, V3X to RX7 Ultra, love the RX7 Ultra it’s one of the best bows I’ve ever had! Keeping the RX7, but I was thinking about getting the Omnia next year sometime but I think I’m going to wait and see what issues pop up over the next few months. I personally prefer a little bit beefier cam along with thick mods. The thin cams and the brass hardware is a concern because brass is soft.
    I’m not an engineer but I’m a former Diesel Technician and anytime there were brass parts involved they were a problematic weak point.
    Other than the thin cams and cables rubbing I think the bow looks good!
    Side note: don’t risk hurting your shoulder for a video! Back the limb bolts out or something.
    Keep the reviews coming buddy!

I do have shoulder issues and wondering how your shoulders get along with the omnia? Id prefer to be able to shoot with perf mods but I'm also going to purchase the smooth mods if I go the Omnia way. Both bows seem like a wash in performance and $. Down to and more important for me the draw cycle on my not so great shoulder issue that creeps up once in awhile. They said they received a prototype from elite and elite asked them what would they do to fix it and they gave them a list things and elite responded back that they were to far into production and decided to release the bow as is so my archery shop didn't order any omnia to sale , I asked my shop what was the main problem with the bow and they basically said there was to much torque in the riser so they wouldn't knowingly sell this bow to there customers !

And Steven himself felt a problem with the bow and noticed that the cables were rubbing together tell me when has that ever happened in one of his reviews. So there's no reason for them to be biased it's just a problem with the bow it obviously could be tuned out but the problem is still there

      @@brianrobinson7972
      Just to clarify.
      Elite sent this shop a prototype and essentially asked them how they'd make it better. The shop compiled a list and sent it to elite. Elite came back and said "there's nothing we can do now as it's too late in the production process" ( or something to that effect )
      Why would a company who has paid engineers on staff (several of them) in addition to professional archers (several of which have been involved with the build process of previous bows) give a prototype bow to a shop (regardless of size or notoriety) to ask for input?
      THEN after going through that process reject the possible fixes saying it was "too late in the production process" You don't send a "prototype" if the final version is already in production.
      And what, the shop won't sell it because it's "potentially dangerous" ? All these companies have is reputation, once damaged they don't come back, and many have gone under from that exact situation...you think elite would risk that? Not to mention the potential law suite.
      Anyway I find the story dubious at best and if it really was relayed to you like that, someone is telling you a tale.

    I dont see how this bow is anywhere even close to 347fps. If it claims 347 on 70 pounds, that has to be on a 350 grain arrow as shooting anything lighter would be sketchy on 70 pounds. And if the speed is only 313 on 380 grains, i see no way how it can manage even 340fps at 350 grains.

    • @Makka316
      @Makka316 Год назад +1

      IBO speed is 350gr at 30" draw at 70lbs. Also Elite's IBO speeds are measured at 80% let off. He is shooting 380gr at 28.5" at 90% let off. Theoretically with no extras attached to the bow and strings he should get around 322fps so it's still short of the theoretical speed but on par with the real world speed differences that most brands are showing in his reviews. It also depends on the calibration of the chronograph which explains why multiple reviews for one bow using the same spec draw length, poundage and arrow weight end up with different results. Better to look at comparisons between bows using the same poundage, draw length and arrow weight on the same chronograph. Unfortunately in this case he's shooting at 70lbs with different arrows then he normally uses so we have no data from this test that we can use to compare to his other tests.
