My fight with ASGORE was one of the most emotional experiences I had in UNDERTALE. Something about the emotional contour of the music really grabbed me when I had to fight him over and over to beat the game. I tried to recreate the atmosphere of the fight using some visual effects to simulate the purple tint, as well as some red particle effects.
I arrange, record, and produce jazz covers of video game music every other Saturday morning on my RUclips channel! My channel combines my loves of jazz and video game music, creating covers and remixes you'll definitely enjoy.

Before you go "ugh no more undertale", I just want to say that music is just a bunch of vibrations in the air that are made in such a way that typically sounds good. I'm super proud of this cover, regardless of the game of origin, and I hope you enjoy this as well!

Hopes and Dreams is one of my favorite covers so I would love to hear him make a jazz version.
Is that even possible, though? Remember the song, isn't it an action-packed guitar-filled theme? It would be hard, even impossible to transfer to jazz.
I usually skip over Berguntruckung when listening to a cover, remix or remastering but damn, that was the best Berguntruckung I've ever heard...
i recognized that Bergentruckung was often just an intro, so I really change it up a bit to give it some more love :)

So, I wasn't into Undertale when you put out your album. But I listened to a couple tracks, thought it was fine, but then later played the game. I then was in love with your album. So good.
But this was my favorite song from the game, and I was always secretly sad you didn't cover it. While I will preach day and night for more Zelda covers... this was very appreciated, and done AMAZINGLY.

At 2:01 my brain bugged because I was actually hearing Heartache when I was supposed to be listening to Asgore, even though I know the songs are basically the same with different pitches.
Especially since he transposed it into B flat minor, which is the same key as Heartache.

One aspect of your channel that I love soooo much is that you don't simply play video game soundtracks and call them "Jazz Covers".
You transform these kind of songs to the next level yo! You change up the melodies a little, you use multiple kinds of instruments (And on the occasion, even things that aren't even instruments! Like for the Spirit Track cover you did, that train whistle was such a cute add-on that I loved a lot :D), and of course, your Tenor Sax is on point!
All these, and a few more, bring me a smile every time I listen to any of your covers. Keep up the good work =)

This is one of the most unique covers of this song I have ever heard. I really like how the pitch of the song is similar to Heartache, showing the connections between Toriel and Asgore. Your integration of Berquntruckung is also very well done. It's a different kind of cover, which I can get down with. =)
Yeah, I changed the key of the tune so it was in the same key of Heartache! I wasn't trying to show any connection there, really... I thought it just sounded cool!
Putting those different harmonies under Bergentrückung really gives the melody new meaning. Really loved that soli feature in Asgore too.
Thanks man! I was really influenced by Bill Laurance's piano playing on his album Swift while writing those reharmonizations at the beginning of the tune.

The first time I fought Asgore, the slow part at the beginning gave me chills. It felt like everything I had gone through had led to this, and that my journey was coming to an end.
What a great feeling, I had a similar experience in my fight with Asgore!

I love this song. Especially Bergentrückung. It's a very simple tune, yes, but it's the pilot hole for the nail that the main song drives into your heart. It gets you going, feeling his sadness and regret, and how he's actually kind.

Ive got to say that i love undertale's every single thing. Its gameplay, its characters, its dialouges and mostly, the music. Also Asgore is my favorite character and i love its music more than all the other songs in the game and i live jazz cover and i listen jazz covers of EVERY song so this must be the best music I could ever listen. This is the best thing ever. Undertale and jazz are two things that, when mixed, create something indescribable that makes your brain explode in the greatest way possible.
Not sure if you even read comments anymore, but holy crap that was amazing! The long piano intro going into the main part of the song, the different styles mixed together, the visual effects, everything was awesome. Best Bergentrückung cover I've seen.

Oh lord Carlos, I've hit this cover three times already--it's so good. The piano interlude there in the beginning with the falling bass notes were really well done, and totally served to elevate the Bergentrückung part into a developed section in a way not really done by the actual OST (or any other existing covers!) If I have any criticism, I just wish that Heartache section at 1:45 had been developed just a tad more--the syncopated hits were really cool, and I wanted more of 'em! 2:06--gorgeous piano interjection; 2:11, awesome undercurrent!

I feel like I already posted this comment, but I'm going to do it again anyways. You have one of the few Burgentrückung covers I actually like. Asgore was and will always be one of my favorite bosses, but he never really got much love from the people I knew or from most of the community. This cover just really resonates with me because it hits all those points I felt in the battle with him; a tragic, unavoidable fight that had you put aside your feelings in order to reach the goal you set; for the player, the end of the game, for Asgore, freedom for his people achieved through a path that brought him so much pain. I know this is like the third comment I've posted today on one of your videos, but I just had to say something XD sorry

I love your covers of the Undertale OST and the covers you've done of many other games. But I'm rather curious. If you're going to continue doing Undertale covers does that mean the possibility of a Live at Grillby's 2 or something if you make enough covers for another album? I pre-oredered the CD/digital download and absolutely love it, and I can't get enough of it no matter how many times I listen to it. If there was to be another that would be amazing. I doubt there will be a Live at Grillby's 2. I've been considering a "deluxe edition" where I add on a couple of songs, but I'm not even sure if that'll happen at any point.
