I don't care what ANYONE says, Predator 2 is an awesome movie. It has nothing to do with nostalgia either. Everything from the environment, to the atmosphere, to the actors, to the side stories, and especially a kick ass performance from Danny Glover, made this an awesome sequel. This movie truly scared me as a kid, even more then the 1st.
Dont forget the score. Predator 1 and 2 have one of the best scores ever in action cinema.
@@Danishdrums YES! It's one of favorite scores' of all time. I feel like not enough is said about how amazing the score is. The score for Predator 1 & 2 and The Thing have 2 of the best scores' ever.
You said it. The only reason this movie gets hate is because it wasn't as good as the first movie, which is an impossible bar because the first Predator is perfect cinema.

I Liked how he stood up and yelled for Jerry considering that he didn't like him at first and thought he was annoying.

Funny story: I watched this movie at around 6pm at a neighbor's house whom was about a 1 minute walk from mine. I was so scared and wasn't gonna leave afterwards. Their dad had to order his sons to escort me home. Know what they did to me? They walked me half way then screamed "predator" and ran back home. That was the longest 30 seconds run of my life back home. Took a while to forgive them a-holes. I was only 12 years old!

Why though? Don't get me wrong, it was super cool, but the Yautja could've easily blast Harrigan after ripping Jerry's spine. Specially when Mike was climbing the ladder, super vulnerable stance.
Gotta love how Harrigan can track a nearly invisible alien hundreds of feet above his car through a hard top ;)

Glad to see this film getting better reviews as time has gone on versus when it originally released. It's a great movie.
Same here man! Everything Predator related that came after this film hasn't even come close to P1 and P2! And anyone who put's any of the AVP films or The Predator (2018) ahead of P2 is just a straight hater!

@@Shadowman820 Your right. I remember seeing "Predators" in theatres and walked out shaking my head thinking it was just a P1 rip off. My opinion has definitely changed 10+ years later though. I really enjoy it now, probably because of the similarities between it and P1. And because of how bad AVP and Requiem are :)
The city hunter had multiple opportunities to kill Harrigan in the meat packing plant but instead, opts to play with its food and chase Glover to the roof. Shows a bit of the Yautja honor code and it thinks Glover is an alpha human and wants to fight him one on one without its tools. Strangely, the city hunter uses a few tools initially, cloaking didn't work, so it fires a projectile at Glover to soften him up a bit. Such a fantastic underrated film.
It was the Same thing with Dutch in Part 1. Remember when Dutch climbed out of the water, the Predator put is head between his claws. But instead of killing him, he opted to take off his gear and fight Dutch hand to hand to the death.

I always loved that scene were Glover decked the news reporter and said "Fuck you!" lmfao

0:16 awesome moment, most people would've turned right back around and ran as fast as possible away from that scene, but Harrigan lets out a guttural warrior scream and starts chasing that huge terrifying monster that just decapitated a grown man with it's bare hands.

For those wondering, Arnold Schwarzenegger was suppossed to reprise his role in P2, but turned it down because he didn't like the idea if a city hunter. According to one of the writers, he was to be hunted by a team of predators for killing one if their own. Cant have word getting around the galaxy that a human can dispatch of the ultimate hunter. Apparently the predator mask can record video and thru this video they knew who to hunt.

Yeah I'm glad we got this version of Predator 2 instead of Dutch Schaefer vs Predators. Us fans dodged a huge bullet.
An army of Predators hunting Dutch would have killed the Predator character.
And Arnold not liking the idea of a City Hunter is beyond comical.
Producer - "Hey Arnie, we have an idea of an action star coming to the real world
Arnold - "Sounds exciting, when do we start filming"
Another Producer - "Hey Arnie, we have an idea of your Terminator character being a good guy again, and coming back to the past to protect an adult John Connor and his future wife

I could go on and on with this...especially when it comes to the rest of the God awful Terminator sequels
That's a terrible premise. A warrior species such as the Yautja, given the high risk of the things they do, would be more likely to view such deaths as inevitabilities that are to be expected, but never avenged.

That scream after the Predator ripps the spine out always freaked me out and the large (THUDS) (THUDS) when his on the roof of the train.
This movie gets way too much hate. Its an awesome addition to the predator franchise IMO.
Fun bit of trivia: the skull and spine the Predator is carrying as he climbs up the building isn't Bill Paxton's character's. It's actually Reuben Blades' character's (Danny) the scene with the Pred climbing the clock building actually happened after he killed Danny, but was placed later in the movie. The correct order of things plays out in the novel and the dark hoarse comic.

I like to think that when the Predator roars, he’s roaring in the voices/vocalizations of every creature he’s ever hunted and killed. That’s not just him playing noises via his mask, he’s actually able to manipulate the pitch of his vocal cords THAT specifically.
There’s so much untapped horror potential with that concept. Imagine a Predator movie where a Yautja kills a child’s parents, and later in the film when the Predator comes across said child again, he screams-or maybe even laughs-at her/him in the voices of their dead parents.
Absolutely horrifying if you really think about just what these creatures are capable of.

Originally for both Predator films, the Jungle Hunter and City Hunter were suppose to use the voices of people they already killed just to trick and taunt Dutch and Harrigan during their final fight scenes.
We should be getting much better Predator movies than we do...

Even an immature Yautja would be more battle hardened than a bunch of FBI agents who grew up in relative comfort and haven't stared death in the eye with every waking moment. And that's before you take into account the hardiness of Yautja physiology, better equipment and the fact that it's explicitly trained to face the unknown, probably from an extremely young age.

Predator 2 was awesome and Danny Glover did a fine job playing Harrigan. The only thing that would’ve made this movie even more over the top is if Mel Gibson played his partner and they were both going after the Predator. Riggs and Murtaugh vs the Predator!

When you read the shooting script you find out the Predator climbing the building with the skull and spine on it's back happens much earlier in the film. That was actually Dannnnyyyy boyyyy on his back. They decided to move it towards the finale of the film.
For some reason in all the HD versions they're missing the sound of the lightning hitting the Predator
