I would like to add up with something important regarding pH when formulating with niacinamide. The optimum solution stability is at a pH 6. Otherwise, It will hydrolyze and form nicotinic acid at higher or lower pH, which still has some vitamin B3 activity but can result in skin irritation.

Ohh, HA doesn’t help with brightening. Is overrated, in my opinion. It can help, depending very much of its molecular weight, environmental humidity and whether you use other acids in your skin care routine, to only hydrate your skin. But often times it doesn’t add any benefit to the recipe other than thickening, very lightly, the texture. Xanthan gum would do the job pretty well here I believe. ❤️
Yes, I am allergic to hyaluronic acid. And nowadays all products comes with that ingredient. I can't use any of them. I need serum without hyaluronic acid...
Yes, you can use gaur gum, xanthan gum.

If you stir the hyaluronic acid into the glycerin first before adding it will not clump.

I tried making this serum but after I let it sit overnight it was really thick. I had to add a lot more water to get it to the right consistency. I think the video calls for too much hyaluronic acid powder.

Go for organic expeller pressed vegetable glycerin, if you can find it. Vegetable based oils are processed with heavy chemicals like hexane to extract the oils from the plants.
