Hey guys and welcome to todays video where we are talking mistakes with vitamin c.. Let me know what your favourite vitamin c is in the comments below.. Love you all x
My favourite is Allies of Skin!! Because of your recommendation, my skin has never looked better! I've got lots of Allies products. Expensive, I know. But in the long run, I've streamlined because I now know what works and therefore have no need to 'experiment' so to speak! X
Hi Rob, many good tips, thank you! Dr Sam's Flawless Vit C+NAD and Niche Beauty Lab Tetramid CEF are my fav vit C derivatives at the moment, and I can't wait to try the Super Serum ❤ Ciao! 😊
Ausceuticals in Australia is a small local company that produces a great vitamin C serum loosely following the skinceuticals formula but at 20% strength. Its low pH, contains added vitamin e and ferulic acid as well as Hyaluronic acid as a humectant and phloretin for extra antioxidant action as well as a couple of soothing botanicals (calendula and chamomile). It’s reasonably priced and very shelf stable especially when refrigerated.
Yes, that’s the one! I remember now🙄 It destroyed my nose. I was naïve believing the hype, used it for weeks years ago turned my face cherry red for 10 minutes. Like a fool I persisted🤦🏼♂️😭😭😭 Now use nothing but water and sunscreen. Vaseline Sunday’s. Waaay too strong for me, obviously😞
Ausctuticals 20%. Nasty looking pores (2) and broken capillaries all over. Devastating, cause’ my nose WAS beautiful ( think Elvis ). I’m aged 60 now so guess happened 53 or 54? I’m not criticising the company, it’s my own dumb stupidity
❤ The discontinued The Ordinary 8% Vitamin C with Alpha Arbutin. I'm currently using Numbuzin No 5 serum and Facetheory Glow-C Cream Cleanser. All three products were recommended by you. When my MAS order arrives I'm going to use the Super Serum morning and night and the Numbuzin No 5 only in the morning. I wish Allies of Skin shipped to Australia. Always love your content. ❤❤❤
Hello hun, how is your week going? I know I really miss that one from the ordinary though have you seen the new brand they are launching? I wish they would just bring back the chemistry brand lol... love x
At the moment, I use Naturium Vitamin C complex serum. I really do like it, however I need something a little more potent now I've reached 40. And so after I have finished my current bottle, I will start using Prequel, Lucent-c serum. I've heard very good things about it. It has 15% L'ascobic acid alongside ferulic acid, niacinimide, and inulin. Have a great day xx
I commented above but I have been really pleased with the Prequel product. Do watch for any crusting on the spout, or you’ll end up with some squirting out on the mirror instead of your hand. 😂 I’m 45 and I definitely saw improvement above and beyond my normal routine when I added it.
Thank you Rob 😊 I'm still not on the Vitamin C train, I just have the super serum in my routine ❤ I think that's enough for me for now. But I will pass on your tips to my mom 😊
Paula’s Choice, 25% vitamin c…smooth as silk, never irritates my skin. Thanks, Rob. You did a review on this one in particular and I had to try it. A win!:)
Vanicream 5%THDA is so gentle. Great for my super sensitive neck. I currently use the Timeless 10% on my face in AM but plan to work up to 20%. Now considering using the Vanicream to face at night. Thanks for that suggestion.
@@AyyeMikeyI think that anyone who feels they can't tolerate Vit C should try this Vanicream 5%. It is also inexpensive and available on Amazon in the US.
Murad ... I've used on and off for many years. It's the only one I've found so far that actually gets rid of my hyperpigmentation ... pregnancy mask I gained many years ago and additional sun damage through my life and living. Definitely keeps this discoloration at bay and even helps it to disappear I've also started having a regular vitamin c facial every month of 2024 at my local skincare spa and it too has done wonders for my skin
I used Skinceuticals CE Ferulic for awhile a few years ago, but didn’t want to pay that price anymore. I was away from Vit C for awhile, but decided to try the Prequel Vit C when I ordered the Gleanser. I was already getting some amazing results on my hyperpigmentation with Ordinary alpha arbutin, but when I added the Prequel to my morning routine, I feel like it supercharged things. I’m out driving all day long for work, so having good antioxidant working with my SPF all day is awesome.
I use the outrageously priced ($225 for 30 ml) Truth Treatments serum. A thick oil that my skin misses each time I try to find something else. I have healed my skin enough to start to tolerate L ascorbic acid. I can tolerate Prequel and both of the versions Naturium has. I use the Truth Treatments and also either the one from Prequel or one of the Naturium versions, twice per day. Slow and steady wins the skincare race. It is so hard to go slow with your skin, you have goals and you just want to throw everything at it. But next thing you know, you use 15 products and your skin looks worse than ever... The product that seemed to heal me enough to start adding more products than just the TT vit c, marula oil, a watery antioxidant to mix with my vitamin c oil, moisturizer, and spf was Isntree TW bifida serum. It took a few months but suddenly my skin was calm and looking great. I was able to start adding more products to target pigment. Finally making progress with the pigment and getting my tolerance back up to tolerate my retin A. Very exciting!
Hi Rob love learning from you, you are a natural in front of the camera. Keep your videos coming, I really look forward to them and seeing your smiley face xx❤
Hey Rob! Love your videos :) After watching one of your previous videos, I purchased the Nineless Azelaic Acid, Centella pore minimising serum and the VT PDRN reedle shot. I already have a Vit C and Spf at home. Is there a specific order I should apply these in order to reach max benefits? Appreciate your help ❤️
One thing I’ve understood about vitamin c is… higher % of it doesn’t mean a quicker result or better result. I got good outcome from 5% only. The be got oily skin specifically in summers…I tried klairs but it was so sticky heavy and wouldn’t absorb into my skin…melano cc too I didn’t use in summer but it got into skin quickly than klairs I’m finishing melano now since my skin turns dry as winters come. Would be better for others to see if it’s non sticky and gets absorbed into skin quickly.
My skin is easily irritated by vitamin c, but the psa wash off Light Up mask hits the spot! 5mins and rinse away. I haven't had a problem yet. Thanks Rob, for the recommendation last year 😂
@@Madamchief I've always noticed a coppery scent, but nothing off-putting. I otherwise have a very sensitive nose.. Maybe it's a preference thing? Or perhaps it went off?
I’ve been using the Geek and Gorgeous which I really like but I need something I can use in the evenings with my copper peptide and tretinoin. MaeLove claims their Vit C can be used with their Multi-peptide serum which has copper peptide in it so I may try that when my other products run out.
Hi Rob , Thanks for the informative video! I found you by chance on RUclips 2/3 years ago, and I have learned so much from you! Love your skincare line, too❤ I use Timeless 20%, followed by your favourite centella and find it a great combo. Sending love❤
Do you still recommend 1004 ampule after the Vit c serum? YesStyle is having a sale and I thought I’d try it. But this is my first time using Vit c and don’t want to over do it.
I do I think its a great option for getting some additional anti aging - its fine to use even if your new to vitamin c .. I hope all is amazing with you.. love xx
I started with Derma-E and was fine, then went to Timeless and my skin rebelled! I've started using the sandwich method. I don't know I that's good, but it doesn't bother my skin anymore!
I use the derivatives in Numbuzin no 5, I am waiting for Vt Reedle shot vitamin C version because my skin has actually gotten more resilient after using the regular reedle shot 100. I started being sensitive after using Adapolene (retinoid available over the counter in the USA) but less and less everyday…
What brand would you suggest for 50+? I’ve been using vitamin C for a while, but I feel like I should use it with other things as well, but I’m not sure what brand would go best.
My experience with vitamin C derivatives is somehow odd. Before I switched to high-concentration vitamin C products, I had been using some lightening serums with 3-O ethyl ascorbic acid for years, which didn't disclose its concentration on its package. Naturally, I assumed that I could tolerate a 10% 3OEAA serum sold at a meagre price at local stores in Germany, and I decided to try one. My god my face was struggling with it. The area near my lips peeled whenever I used it. I tried to buffer it with some ceramide cream and managed to use up the whole bottle. Then I found out that G&G 15% LAA serum is available at the same retail store, and I switched to it without having any sort of skin reaction.
Oh I love it hun, I just dont have it right now as they were out of stock when I came to buy but it will be back in my routine in no time as its a favourite.. ;love x
Is your moisturizer (with 5% Vit. C) compatible with Vanicream's Vit C derivative if used at the same time? is there your moisturizer will not get along with?
Im a huge fan of the April skin A.C.E I have old skin 😂😂😂 I mean mature of course. That works great for me followed by their Aprilskin collagen moisturizer
There is so much bad information on Reddit and TikTok etc if someone is getting into skincare they would understandably be confused because everyone is saying different things so no wonder people are confused, i went for the longest time thinking C vitamin before retinol ( night time ) was the biggest of no-no's and after i started doing it my skin has literally never felt or looked better. Also people should listen to their skin and learn what it can and cant tolerate and not project it onto others just because they can't do something.
Hi hun, the serum has vitamin c in it so you will be covered with that :) the last of the pre orders are all going out this week so it should be with you asap... love xx
@@MadAboutSkinI liked it because it had resveratrol and ferulic acid in it and I’ve heard you sing their praises before. It’s definitely warming my skin today. 😮
I have to be honest, that was one of your most confusing videos. Plus you didn’t even mention the Geek and Gorgeous Vitamin C that you have been recommending for months and months. Is that no longer one of your favorites?

So , yes it is a little confusing , you always talking how G&G is you favourite C serum but here you are talking how timeless is you favourite.. also is not that serious, you are all right in the world to like something or not , but if you change your mind about some product I will want to know.. greetings from Greece
@MadAboutSkin woop !! This series is very cool I don't particularly mind long videos coz I always ALWAYS learn something but I really like the idea behind these .. looking forward to the Retinoid one now 🥰 love ya back mr ❤️ 😘
Hi Rob, You are my favorite person for info on skincare. I am 64 and haven't really been into skincare for very long. I know that is strange. Thankfully, I have good genes and rarely sun-bathed like alot of my friends. I was wondering if you have any thoughts on Pura D'Or 20% Vitamin C serum. It is really inexpensive and has other good ingredients according to the label. Thank you for your videos.

So , yes it is a little confusing , you always talking how G&G is you favourite C serum but here you are talking how timeless is you favourite.. also is not that serious, you are all right in the world to like something or not , but if you change your mind about some product I will want to know.. greetings from Greece

Current Vit C Goodal Vit C cream. Absorbs quickly, works well with my oily acne prone skin skin 🫶🏼
