@@Randywithups2 how are u? I retired in 2013, 35 yrs. at age 55, but I was clerical. Do they still allow early retirement at 55? Also, I heard from a retired driver here in Texas that the union contract was given back to the teamsters. Is that true? I remember how they regretted that decision back in the early 2000s because the teamsters were going to cut the payments in half, so UPS had to pick up the difference. So, they voted to turn it back over to UPS in 2007. She also said that retirement was going to end in 2025 for union workers. I know it has ended for non-union workers around 2017 and replaced with 401K match.

What i did is apply before peak season around September. Then they make you bust your ass. If you’re faster than everyone else they keep you permanently. Once I hit 250 stops by 6 pm they let me do whatever I want. Come in late, take days off, I even crashed the gate in front and got everyone stuck for half hour. They can’t afford to lose me tho. @matthyou561 10 месяцев назад

It really depends on where you’re at. I got hired as a driver once Covid was over and did the same online integrad they did when Covid was a big deal. I was told by one of the instructors that the ones going to his facility had to be able to recite them day one. My facility didn’t have me recite a single word of any of it. I had my 30 days of packet and my sup went over the 5’s and 10s and would imply them vocally as he was driving. Study them hard no matter what, once you’re in and get past that, you will never need to know them again from my experience. Just do your job, keep your lytx numbers down. Every driver has their own methods from what they are taught. As long as your base is hard work and being safe, you will have a great career.

The United States has no federal law that mandates paid vacation for employees of any company. You’re at the mercy of most employers. If they want to give you vacation time, they most certainly will. If they don’t want to offer paid time off, you gotta look for another job. I used to work at a big grocery store chain called “Stop and Shop.” It was a union job (barely over minimum wage) but you had no paid time off whatsoever for your entire first year. You get 20 hours of paid vacation after one year which is one week. After three years you get 40 hours of vacation (two weeks). It increases more with seniority.
