    it hurts so bad, and you can literally feel the squishy swollen parts when moving down. But continuing to massage it really helps

    Today I run more than 4000K a year. Only with massage I got rid of shin pain that I had 10 years ago. I also focused on the most painful spot and kept massaging until pain went away. Which was five minutes or so. Truly painful but it helped that I knew how great running can be without pains.

    I find it more effective to stroke up towards the heart to add lymphatic drainage to the myofascial release.

      You can go that direction as well, but we must remember that the direction of massage does not matter much when treating pain, so your choice should be based on the patient's preference and what works best in terms of the practitioner's biomechanics. If swelling is present, then we would of course work toward the heart.

    After every intense or Long Run ..I feel a shooting and throbbing pain to the lower mid of my butt cheek and it aggravates as time passes till 48 hrs ..as much as I can't even walk properly ... Did physio but didn't help ...the trigger point is somewhere deep in the inner side of the hip bone...plzzzz help ..it is hampering my runs

      That area of pain is often related to the SI joint and the deep rotator muscles of the hip joint. I would recommend trying the exercises in my SI joint video and my piriformis syndrome video. You can find them under my spine and hip playlists.

    I can't even touch my shins even after a small run ... I can't even think of doing that to my soul gonna leave my body , that shit is so so much painful not everyone gonna relate to this but trust me that hurts alot alot

      Then probably running, or sports in general not for you. No pain no gain baby. Its all mental. And knowing that you are massaging these spots to help you in the future is absolute worth it. Also it strenghtens you mentally. Just admit it and get through.

      @@Nikhil-xw5zw The peroneal muscles are on that side of the leg and can cause similar pain, but on the other side. I will do another short soon that shows how to massage them. Also, there is an ankle eversion exercise in my ankle sprain video that can help with pain in that area.

      It can take several weeks to to a couple of months to fully heal and longer if you return to aggravating activities (running) too soon or do too much of the activity.

    Is it possible to have very severe shin splints that aren’t stress fractures? In my leg leg mainly I have very severe pain when running heavily during football practice, however other than the pain level it seems like shin splints. It hurts all down my shin, although there is a spot in the upper middle where it is the worst, and when I put pressure on my shins with my hands that’s also where it hurts the most, they usually hurt a lot in the morning before I have the blood flowing, and only cause moderate pain once I’m walking around and stuff. It’s especially bad during and after practice, because it’s usually 2-3 hours of heavy sprinting, and sometimes when tackling people I land weird on my leg which hurts a lot too. I stopped practicing a few days ago and it’s gotten a little better, but I’m really just hoping and praying it’s simply bad shin splints that put me out for 2 weeks, vs a minor stress fracture that could put me out 2-6

      The pain you are describing can definitely be a severe case of shin splints. When these soft tissue structures are extremely irritated they often create symptoms very similar to what you’re describing. However, if you don’t protect the area and give it some time to recover and calm down, a stress fracture could result. If things aren’t getting better in a couple of weeks, you might consider seeing your doctor to get an x-ray and rule out a stress fracture.

      @@RehabScience thanks for the info, I talked with my athletic trainer at school about sitting out for the next week of practice, seeing how much I’ve healed, then either getting back in slowly or taking another week off. I’m bummed to have to miss at least 1 if not 2 of my first games, but she pointed out it’s a lot better to miss 2 now then 6 in the middle of the season, or even a playoff gane

      @@RehabScience I've exactly same situation with my legs as the guy explained in his comment. I've consulted with an Orthopedic doctor and I've rested for more than a year but the pain isn't going anywhere as I've restarted playing football and running again. I am seriously concerned about my legs now as I cannot enjoy running, playing and sometimes going upstairs becomes extremely painful lol.

    Looks like you have good technique however I was taught in massage therapy school that you always massage towards the heart not away from it so I would do the same move but I would start at the bottom and work my way up to the knee

      The direction of treatment doesn’t matter when the focus is on pain. Moving towards the heart only matters when there is fluid accumulation (edema) in the tissue.

      Éso ahí y para esa técnica es hacia abajo xq es dónde está el tendón qué soporta los músculos.
      Hasta abajo xq lo llevo a la fascia plantal.
      Ésta técnica es profunda no es de relajación, es de limpieza y ya hay una evaluación de la condición del Paciente. Asumo qué algún dolor de piernas y pie.
      Yo soy Terapeuta de Rehabilitación y la uso para despegar colágeno de la tibia x ejemplo qué luego traerá una contractura en el músculo 🤲

    Mistake! The lower legs must NEVER be massaged from top to bottom. Only ALWAYS from the bottom - up

    Yes, we needs that but don't be weak we have to get up fight for the pain by exercise and jumps up and down twis kicks do as much you can for the body

    Is it bad that I’ve been having posterior tibialis shin splints for around 4-5 months

      Shin splints can last this long if you are still performing exercises or tasks that are irritating the area. However, you might want to see a doctor and rule out a stress fracture as well.

    Doctor Dios te bendiga , pedirte un favor presentar un video asi el mejor y amplio para el dolor de hombro muy fuerte , hasta el codo cuando se dobla el brazo , ,no puedo hacer fuerza ese dolor destemplado , desgarre y de noche no me deja dormir , hace mucho tiempo hice una mala fuerza y en ese entonces me afecto todo el trapecio ,pienso afecto los tendones , cuello también ,tome medicamentos y si gracias a Dios .Te recomiendo .Bendiciones colombia
