Vaca atolada is kind of a stew made by early brazilians when travelling with cattle in certain regions of the country. These regions had muddy ground and was common for cows to get mired, and that was when farmers would prepare food and rest. The name of the dish means roughly 'mired cow', making reference to that

I really don’t know how I ended up here, but that was really fun to watch. Brazilians get really happy when someone speaks well of our food. I was a foreign exchange student exchange at the US in 2019, and one things I really missed was the more natural taste the candy would have. And I actually brought with me to the exchange a whole package of the banana candy, because it was my favorite!
It is, for me, a Brazilian guy, really nice to se someone tasting some brasilian food. The odd named dinner main, Vaca Atolada, is roughly translatet as stuck (on the mud) cow. No jokes! Really! It is mainly a simple dish made of beef in a manioc stew. It was funny to see you mixing it all up, 'cause we put the rice and the stew side by side on the plate, and some old people say it is unpolite to mix it (I don't understand why). But anyway, it is just a cultural nonsense, and it was nice to see that you enjoyed it. Nice video! I'll be watching some more on your channel. Cheers.
Nice review. That was a huge ration for sure. Watching the reviews on foreign rations makes the U.S. MRE rations look like someone should change things up big time.
There are so many cool ideas and items to add to a ration to make it easier out on the go. I would like to see a legit American MRE 24hrs not FSR but Breakfast lunch and Dinner with set up.
The best and most sincere and honest reaction I've ever seen from someone trying our combat ration!!! There was a countryman of yours who opened it and was extremely dishonest and disrespectful, he practically didn't prove anything, he didn't do anything right and since he wasn't good, they "disapproved", thank you very much for your respect!!!
I find it interesting that you mentioned, that the industrialized foods have a more artificial flavor in the us. That’s something I noticed when I traveled there, so it’s nice hearing from someone on the other side of the equation.
Fruit salad milk shake?... Sign me up. I haven't seen this ration before, looks solid. You reminded me that I need to grab one of those canteen stove bases. Thanks for the vid.

Gum drops look good and so did the main, the one completely transformed with the powder. Were there any nutritional benefits to the powder?
Good afternoon from the Great State of Texas. It is hot down here. This ration pack looks veery good. Where did you get this meal from? How many cook sets did you bring for the mre? Have a good day and be safe.
The powder you dumped into the first meal was Rice cereal it's for breakfast its usually babies first food. Absorbs all liquid, don't add it to soupy stuff lol makes paste.
I was wondering cause when I checked out the 6hr meal they were telling me to dump in main. Next one I find I will eat it like it is supposed to be eaten lol.
Not really. Here in Brazil, farinha de mandioca is used in many dishes, but mainly with feijoada (black bean dish) and grilled meats. It can be also used like flour in many recipes. Mandioca is closer to potatoes than rice, but there isn't really a good enough translation of the word. What you are refering to is 'mingau', which is made with other kinds of flour (wheat, corn, rice)
