Got my zflip5 since day 1 and its still looks brand new, it takes special kinda of people to know how to care for these phones. You have throw away what you think about taking care of a brick phone and learn how to care for these types of phones entirely. I also have the flip 4 who my gf is using, and it still looks good as new. 🤷♂️ i think the same people who break this phone are guaranteed to break any other phone as well.
Breaks are really a case-by-case basis - just like any phone. Sure there are more moving parts here but the tech has improved VASTLY over the past few generations - and yeh the ZF5 is still a solid device
Had the z flip 3,4 and 5 thanks to Samsung's insane trade ins every year. Loved them all but the screen protector on the 5 is way more superior to the 3 and 4. Had to go to Samsung and replace the protector once on the 3 and twice on the 4 and I had them both for a year. This one is still in perfect condition. Looking forward to the 6 and the upgrades.. the Razr always temps me but when Sammy gives me a new phone for about $50 -$100 with the trade in, it's a no brainer.
@richardravoii6014 My friend, who works with me, has the Razr+, it's an awesome phone, it has different and unique features apart from samsung and vice verse the zflip5 , but it all comes down to preferences. 👍
@JuliusMoore-co5hl honestly, in some what you do have to special care for it. For example, people mistake the name Flip for "Flick", get what i mean? 😅 another would be don't put it in tight spaces, specially folded. About 10 pounds of pressure applied and expect a hinge or midline crack. 🤦♂️
Open and close the flip till the debris comes out. It's designed to slowly push small particles out as you flip it. Hold the phone upside down and open and close it till you see the dirt on the edges of the hinge and wipe it away. Repeat and wipe till the sound is gone. If it's really dirty, it takes about 5 minutes of flipping to get it clean
Why wouldn't it be safe to open and close it for 5 minutes straight? I'm seriously curious why anyone would wonder that. What do you guys think the phone is made of? Styrofoam? Yes it's safe. You can open and close the phone half a million times in a row and nothing would happen. Seriously though, what's the thought process? You think the phone over heats, or stretches, or breaks a tiny bit with every fold? The phone is Korean, not Chinese, and it's a Samsung flagship, not cheap plastic.
@starblissgames I work in the pool industry, I dropped them on concrete and pools, lol. I'm definitely... *and I mean definitely,* not the most gentle person. No case, they currently have, works for us blue collar workers unfortunately.

My zflip5 still is as good as new, no weird sound on the hinge, no green lines, no screen protector issues. Ive always had a case on it though, but no hinge protection (i dont like cases like that bc it’s bulky). I even took it with me as i swam around a pool and took photos/vids hehe! I guess im just lucky…wasnt looking to upgrade but ended up trading it in for the zflip6 because of the deals lol
@ hey, the zflip5’s batt life is fine for my usecase. I only use it for work and for when im out. I use a diff phone for gaming. Anyway, ive upgraded to zflip6 when it got out and can also confirm that the 6’s battery life is a bit better than the 5.
@@persondes1180I would recommend getting the zflip6 instead bc: - the crease is less noticeable - batt life is a bit better - cam/vid is better - processor is a bit better too Altho i would understand why some would prefer to stick with the zflip5 as the mentioned are pretty much slight upgrades, but still an upgrade nonetheless. Personally, i just prefer getting the one with better features and would probably last longer. So, I've used the zflip5 for a year, didnt have issues. Then, I've upgraded to zflip6 and still using it now, no issues - so far so good!
Have you had any issues with the screen. I bought mine back in April and just after three months I had to replaced the screen twice. I have insurance, but the premium is high.
I have the flip 5 ,15 pro , s24u , and pixel 8 just recently I started carrying the flip again because my s24 ultra is a brick in my pocket and everyone has a iPhone I like to be different even at the cost of the camera . Very good review and update .

I love my Z Flip 5, I bought it in the last month, the cameras are awesome for me, even in low light, I wish it can record 4K 60FPS on the ultra wide but it can't
so at the 1:13 mark, is the screen peeling at the crease edges? i've had this on flip 2, 3 and 4, made me skip the 5... at 2:07, you said it is fine, but again at 1:13 it appears that it did.
The protector stops short of the edges, there is about a quarter-half cm width all around the display, so it may be the light makes it shine where the screen protector isn't added - however there is NO peeling yet. The edges go up to the bezel so it won't impact the display or whatever you are watching either. Aside from corner peeling there is also NO peeling or bubbles at crease either.
I love your videos, sadly my Z Flip 4 broke, and I have to repair it myself as I’m not giving Samsung 500 GBP to do it for me. Keep up the good content, especially with foldables
This is a perfect match! Ive heard iphone 15 is not that great so I was looking into getting the lilac iphone 14 but now Ive been considering the lilac samsung flip phone. Couldn’t be a more perfect comparison. Been a true apple customer but the camera is not that great compared to other brands
Sorry to bother you, hopefully a quick question. My Zflip5 has started opening random apps. Not just one, but 6-7 at a time. I've tried to "wipe the data partisan" and of course reboot and it might stop for a short time, but obviously, it's a real pain. Any ideas/suggestions? I bought it last August.

I was putting it open in my breast shirt pocket, and the movement generated static enough to randomly open apps. IMO some presenters don't realize that part of a profession's job includes answering comments when needed.

My SM smartphone is now ~6y old and since about half a year I noticed, when it reaches 20% it either drains normally or dips very fast to 12% and then 5%, in some cases it's not even 20mins before it shuts down. Guess the age and battery degredation of the device just makes Samsungs flawed battery level reporting even more noticeable! xD
Ive had mine since day 1 no issues unlike my flip 3 when i got it had to get a new one 4 months after release because the screen turned green. Back to the five though I've notice i dont open it as much as my 3 most times its closed to answer phone, to play music, or anything that can be done from the front screen.

What would make a perfect Z Flip for me (i'm on the 5 since day one, very happy of it but my problem is the 12pmx main camera, the battery not so much great [not so bad], the rain resistance for the screen and the dust stucked quite easily) it's : a better camera set (same as the 24+ or the Fold) a battery of at least 4000 mAh a better resistance to dust a better resistance with water with the screens
I love my flip 5. The main reason to buy was the form factor, and it has never let me down. I use it one handed all the time and rarely open it. What really disappointed me were the SW changes. For example, I mapped the function button (double-tap) to my most used app. This used to work perfectly fine on the cover screen, but since the OS update the double-tab asks me to open the phone. Same goes for opening an mp3 from the dropbox app, used to work perfectly fine on cover screen, but now it just asks to open the phone. Samsung even disabled the ability to regulate the AOD brightness on the cover screen; it was later re-added but you need to use the goldilock app for it now. hardware-wise the phone is great, it's the stupid samsung updates that ruins it.

Hi there I just got a flip 5 for a good price in order to test it out while still having my iPhone 14 Pro. For the Android Auto I actually enjoy it more. To me it looks nicer and it has games that I could play in my car which I don’t use but a cool feature that I hadn’t seen from iPhone. As for the keyboard you have different options. You’re not limited to the Samsung keyboard. The customization options are unlimited.
I am using iPhone 15 and zflip 5 for all most 8 months and my z flip 5 camera works absolutely fine in low light and I like to click photos with my z flip more then my iPhone maybe he hasn't turned turned on the all settings of the camera 😂

I almost took the plunge and switched from apple but I just can’t,, I am suckered into the Apple World and not sure if I can flip.

You don't even need to "care" for it as long as you don't drop it regularly. People exaggerate about the durability.

Agreed. Went through 2 Galaxy Flip 5s, had to switch to the ultra 24*. Battery and durability were the main factors.

So, I've used the zflip5 for a year, didnt have issues. Then, I've upgraded to zflip6 and still using it now, no issues - so far so good!

That's interesting, I charge in my car a TON but it's always connected via Bluetooth and hasn't had any major heating issues.
I noticed when I'm wireless charging in car along with android auto.

The crunch itself doesn't indicate damage but could be a few things - dust/gri.e or hinge on frame
