As a Z flip 5 user and hearing how you use your phone, I think the only thing that would really get me to switch is the battery life. I am always on my phone, and I tend to keep a powerbank with me to charge the phon, especially on my long work days. But the other stuff really doesn't excite me to spend the money

I have a Flip 5 and I do love the colors on the phone but I use cases anyway so you won't see it. But I do like the updated build. Over all it's nice but I'm going to stick with my 5...next year I'll switch to the 7

My main complaint is the trade in value. It was so much better the last two Z Flip iterations. I started with the 3, updated to 4, updated to 5. I was planning on doing the same for the 6, but Samsung has drastically reduced the trade in value. When I upgraded to the 4 and 5, I paid only ~99$ and for the 5 they threw in the Galaxy Buds, case, and screen protector! I didnt expect the same treatment this go round, but I didnt expect a 400$ difference in value.
As a professional artist and photographer I was a Note fan for multiple upgrades. When I tried the Z Flip 5 I knew I was hooked on its form and possibilities. The camera upgrade of the 6 was something I was waiting for. This years Flip is a significant upgrade for the camera. I hope for more.
Yeah, I'm just like you. I even bought the first Galaxy Note ever, as well as the Note Tab 10.1 for drawing back then. The Flip form factor just makes sense!

I love the pastel colors with the matte finish, but I really liked the lavender/pinkish color of the Z Flip 5 😢 Still going to buy the Z Flip 6 for the better camera and the bigger battery life as soon as I'll be able to afford it, but I'll really miss the pink. Idk what color I'll choose, maybe the mint or the blue 😌

The circle around Flip 6's camera is really ugly I have to say. The battery does matter, but if you stay on your phone for a very long time, you'd better think twice if you really need a flip phone. In my opinion, the flip phone is designed for those light users who may even not want to carry the phone if it is too big.

I have ZFlip 5 and just went to samsung store nearby to hands on the Zflip 6 and I can tell the build quality is well improved. The rubber that is around the edge it looks cleaner and feels premium.
I’m glad I upgraded! From the flip 5, The flip 6 is much better and easier to use! It opens better and I enjoy using it! Great cases I have both light up led frames that remind me of past phone that light up. It’s subtle and fun!
The flip 5 screen is 1,600 nits, the flip 6 is 2,600. That is a nice change that wasn't mentioned on the inner screen. Unless I missed it then I am sorry for repeating it.
I hope there's 2x portrait mode since it now has a higher mp camera, just like on the regular iPhone. I don't like that I'm limited to 1x only on my flip4.
I’m upgrading to the 6 too and for the same reasons honestly. I would say my main thing for Samsung is to add more colors to choose from and vibrant at that. I’ve noticed they are going into more pastel colors than brighter colors us girlies be wanting pink and purple not pastel though actually pink and purple colors. Hopefully, Samsung do it before apple does 🤭

Now, as good or part of some of these cameras are, you can focus it all the way in and then go to your accessibilities. Set up a triple tap, so your triple tap will magnify your screen which will do that on all of your screens, not just your pictures. So if you have a hard time reading document or whatever, because the Prince small, you could do, the triple cap thing and it would. Magnify your screen for screen. Magnification works well with pitchers too. I used out a lot of far away pitchers. I'll bring it in as close as I can get it. And then I'll triple cap it, and which will bring it in that much closer
It gives me a headache. I'm a Flip5 owner and although I'm very happy, the purchase bonuses available in my country are giving me a headache and thinking about switching. The original price in my country for the Flip6 is $1,245. If I trade in my Flip5, I'll get a $450 discount plus a $214 "Trade-in Flip6" bonus, so the final price of the Flip6 would be around $581, which is already something very hard to ignore. Ideas, advice? :D

Any testing done for the heat? My main issues with the 5 were the crease and the heating issues. Especially when i play a game like Pokemon Go outside, it would start to cook and the crease made it difficult to throw pokeballs 😅
I traded my three in for the six I think that was worth it if I had a five might give it a second or third or fourth thought, but a 32 a six no question
flip 5 is a real deal if you avoid the cameras (Samsung is no the best brand for shooting anyway.) Buy a Pixel or Iphone if you love "smartphones videos and photos
As a flip 5 user. I am trying not to be on the phone so much, and the flip 5 helps me with that problem. So getting the upgrade for me is kinda useless. So ya
if you have the spare funds, then 100%. the upgrades are so worth it. the phone now lasts the whole day, the camera is much better and it rarely gets hot anymore

I have a z flip 3. I've been waiting for a better screen with very little crease. How do you feel about the crease on the phone? I tried out the OnePlus open and I could hardly see the crease.
Crease is the same, if you get a new z flip 5 it will be the same. After some use, crease gets worse but we don't notice it getting worse if that makes sense.

I'm thinking about switching my S21 Ultra to Flip 6. Can you tell me if you can run apps on the cover screen (messenger/ instagram/whatsapp) and reply to the messages using cover screen? I just need something smaller than S21U and I think Flip6 would be a good idea as long as the cover screen is very usefull.
I had a z flip 3, so it's been a while, but you can definitely see and reply to mssgs from the cover screen, we could do that even with the smaller display on the older models. As for apps, from what I've heard it's pretty limited, mostly restricted to widget type functions than being able to fully use on just the cover screen.
That’s what I’m actually thinking about too. I pre-ordered S24 ultra but I always have trouble putting it in my pocket and bag bcuz it’s too big. Also it’s so heavy making my wrist hurt. So I’m thinking of changing to a z flip 6. But i’m so afraid of the camera quality cuz i always use the camera. I’ve been watching the growth of z flips since the 1st gen to get one one day. Don’t know if it’s a good decision to change from a s24 ultra to z flip 6 or not 😐 ultra definitely has a better camera.
While the upgrade are interesting, I'm having a hard time to justify the change, especially the trade-in not that interesting, still have the crease and no bigger outer screen (I remember early rumors says it'll be a 3.9", so I'm disappointed there's no change in the end). I bought my Z Flip5 with 512GB storage for the same price as the 256GB one but I believe it was an offer made after the preorder time so maybe if you wait for after the release date, you may get a better deal. But for now, I think I hold on for this year, hopefully next year we'll have some design change and at least a bigger outer screen like the Motorola Razr Ultra. And Samsung DeX would be a definite plus.

Yes its a compact device so its a plus for carrying in pocket but my flip 5 watching youtube videos there is black bars of each sides if there screen aspect ratio had little wider it could be perfect maybe in flip 7. 😎

I think because of the form factor. The Flip is not great at heat dissipation historically, so I can understand why it doesn't have it

Heat is vastly improved here on the Flip6 thanks to the vapor chamber. I can rarely get it to heat up, and when it does it's not scorching hot anymore

I can still see it, but now when I run my fingers over it, it is barely noticeable anymore

I just need something smaller than S21U and I think Flip6 would be a good idea as long as the cover screen is very usefull.
I had a z flip 3, so it's been a while, but you can definitely see and reply to mssgs from the cover screen, we could do that even with the smaller display on the older models. As for apps, from what I've heard it's pretty limited, mostly restricted to widget type functions than being able to fully use on just the cover screen.
That’s what I’m actually thinking about too. I pre-ordered S24 ultra but I always have trouble putting it in my pocket and bag bcuz it’s too big. Also it’s so heavy making my wrist hurt. So I’m thinking of changing to a z flip 6. But i’m so afraid of the camera quality cuz i always use the camera. I’ve been watching the growth of z flips since the 1st gen to get one one day. Don’t know if it’s a good decision to change from a s24 ultra to z flip 6 or not 😐 ultra definitely has a better camera.
While the upgrade are interesting, I'm having a hard time to justify the change, especially the trade-in not that interesting, still have the crease and no bigger outer screen (I remember early rumors says it'll be a 3.9", so I'm disappointed there's no change in the end).
I bought my Z Flip5 with 512GB storage for the same price as the 256GB one but I believe it was an offer made after the preorder time so maybe if you wait for after the release date, you may get a better deal.
But for now, I think I hold on for this year, hopefully next year we'll have some design change and at least a bigger outer screen like the Motorola Razr Ultra. And Samsung DeX would be a definite plus.

I noticed they change the size of the outer screen every two models. So I really hope a change next year.

Yes its a compact device so its a plus for carrying in pocket but my flip 5 watching youtube videos there is black bars of each sides if there screen aspect ratio had little wider it could be perfect maybe in flip 7. 😎

So Motorola Razr still beats Z Flip, so far Samsung is relying on its fanbase like Apple and do shit for an actual improvment
