best band you have ever reviewed.
King's X all day long! Long live the KINGS!
Black the Sky and Burning Down, my two favourite KX songs. The Dogman lp is their heaviest.
His words so true
Ohhh they used against him....
Know of the band, not their discography. A cool song.
King's X, always been one of my favorites. One of the few non metal bands that I have damn near all of their catalog. Saw them a few times, but not since 2005. They are phenomenal live.....👍
Nice!!!
King's X has been my favorite band since '89. Seen them 12 times that I can remember and had a blast at every show. Ty's rig died at one show and would not revive. An awesome dude ran to his house and got an acoustic and Ty played the gig acoustic. There was so much joking around that it was like jamming at friends house. So cool and KX are great humble guys.
Only saw them once but that was enough to name them my audible prozac, a show so good that I felt like a better person just for being there. They jammed with the opening band in the encore until Ty's amp blew up and they had to end. Was an amazing almost four hours.
Gretchen Goes to Nebraska. Get it!
My favourite band ever... MY Beatles... Keep exploring... Their music is so varied and rewarding... You won't be disappointed. Their latest album, 3 Sides of 1 is amazing.
I adore this band. The first four albums - those produced by Sam Taylor - are my faves
Totally agree
The album Faith, Hope, Love, is probably the album that contains all the elements of KX. The singer, dUg Pinnick, many years ago was invited to replace Ian Gillan in Deep Purple.
Oh wow that's interesting
Ooh Song...
it is almost strange for me to approach this... when it came out it was sooooo different than anything, still is but not as much, and of course it is a bit dated... but the vocals were always the best. dUg is a monster, deep purple offered him the lead singing job sight unseen, which is crazy... Ty ? damn... he is the reason I picked up a guitar. And they all sing lead, even Jerry the drummer - great solo albums, very beatles... if you want heavy... check out "Please Come Home.. Mr Bulbous"... all in drop d/b ... really low and heavy but great...
One of my favourite King's X songs. This song is also good to hear in their London live version where the solo is an impressive extended version. I recommend Pleiades and Out of the Silent Planet from the Gretchen Album and Prisoner off their self-titled album. Julia on their Mr Bulbous album is worth a listen too. Really all their music is worth being heard many times. The mix of soul and "choir-boy" Beetles harmonies with drop-D guitar tones, guitar solos, heavy melodic bass, prog elements, catchy choruses, and much more makes them stand out over many albums.
King's X has long been near the top of my most underrated list. Anything from "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska," please!
Ty Tabor's early tone? Hello!
I love that the whole magic was because the Lab Series amp he used had a faulty side in the pre section!
I was always frustrated that I could never get a good recreation of his tone. 🤣🤣
