    Being a noob, I bought mx4x12 a and b cabs to save money only to learn that the stock speakers are only decent at bedroom levels and the tone flattens when wanting to crank them.
    I replaced the speakers in the A cab with vintage 30’s in the A cab and the difference is huge. Just got the greenbacks delivered today and gonna but them in the B cab so the vintage 30’s and greenbacks will be combined. I’m pretty stoked.

      V30s and Greenbacks mix extremely well together. Many people use 2 of each in the same 4 by 12 or 1 of each in a 2 by 12. There are many guys who don't like Greenbacks or V30s on their own but love them together.

    • @someonehadtosayit2566
      @someonehadtosayit2566 Год назад

      @@adamwatson6916 I put them in separate cabs because I wasn’t sure if the wattage difference would cause issues wiring them together in the same cab. I guess it turns out it wouldn’t harm anything. Still sounds great having one type in one and another in the other. I may still cross them in the same cabs anyway though just out of curiosity

      Hollywood Rare Guitars they look legendary sitting next to each other! Kinda Hall of Fame at your premises! It would be cool if you compare not only the gainer side, but the cleans and edge of breakup tones as well (since that’s the starting sweet spot point for many to fire some gain on top).
      By the way, greenbacks give the amp a plexiish vibe, I reckon. So guess using cabs to amps that correspond on this picture would yield greater results, IMO.

    1960B vintage all the way for me . More clarity and better balanced. The greenbacks are a little to Fuzzy/Fizzy sounding for my liking and a little too. soft/spongy . Kind of smeared sounding .
    Greenbacks sound much better for low to medium Gain but even then I prefer G12H30s for the more classic low Gain to medium Gain stuff.

      The Marshall G12 Vintage is in fact the real V30. The Marshall vintage was the original V30 . It was a Marshall only speaker at first but due to demand Celestion released ca regular production version but they had to change the specs because the specs of the original V30 or Marshall vintage were proprietary to Marshall .
