Purchased the Tactix Bravo back in 2016. It still works and looks like new other than some minor wear of the DLC coating on the sharper edges of the watch. It's been flawless for 5 years of daily use and abuse. Sold it for $200 to a friend and just upgraded to the Delta w/solar and ballistics. I look forward to using this one daily for another 5 years. Awesome wearable tools!

Decided to make my Apple watch series 5 backup and got Tactix Delta. First time Garmin user. Really excited to play with it
Same here, my AW 6 never had a chance after trying the 6X Solar. Endlessly fun/customizable and very accurate, useful features too for anyone.
I would've opted for the Tactix if they would've made a smaller, 47mm version. It's just way too big for a comfortable 24/7 wear on an average Joe's wrist.
I bought the tactix delta after this video after using the 6X sapphire. One extra thing I've noticed is that the tactix delta screen is a little brighter and has more clarity to it. It's a lot nicer on the eyes to look at.
You can kind of see in the vid, but I guess you can really see it in person.
Do they have the same capacity on terms of memory?

Man, I really love the look of the Delta, but its hard to justify the price difference.
Hands down my favorite tech reviewer. I've been thinking of upgrading from my 5x plus and I'm going with the Tactix Delta.

upgraded my Fenix 3 HR to the Fenix 6X . Such an awesome watch. Loving it.
i kept my 3 HR for sleep monitoring. You have to make it your main tracker though. I have not been happy with the 6x for sleep monitoring. My other watch is the 6x pro solar. 30 days of batter life under normal settings.

I can't believe Garmin can honestly say to their customers that the screen on the 6x is fine, it looks so washed out, and more importantly the viewing angles are brutal. I ended up returning mine, Garmin reluctantly gave me a refund, I'll be trying the new tactix for sure, great video, thanks!
PS, maybe do a video with backlight on and comparing different viewing angles between the two in darker setting
Derek Van Horne I've used the 6X for months and swapped to the delta. The screen is much better on the delta for sure. 👍

no its not... the 5x plus sapphire looks quite like the same it has all topo maps free, and delta doesnt has, and this nice flat bezel design is the in both but the fenix 5x worth every single dollar spent, while the other one... LOL
Just got the Tactix Delta and so far loving it. Actually found it on a base for $769 (no tax) which made the decision easier since it was cheaper than the 6x and, in my opinion, has the better design. I think the fenix line design is getting outdated. They could’ve easily called the Tactix Delta the Fenix 7 next year (without the stealth mode) and added a version with an amoled screen.
im not sure they will ever add an amoled screen since that would kill one of their top selling points, battery life. the current screen works like an Ereader E-ink display. unless its moving it uses no battery life.

Looks like the delta crystal is physically closer to the screen. Might be worth upgrading my instinct tactical.
I feel like its really down to look preference. Kill switch is factory reset, Stealth Mode is essentially Airplane mode, Jump Master has an app for Fenix, you can toggle between position formats on Fenix.. i mean i guess if night vision is your tipping point, but it really its either you like the tactical look or you have to use the Tactix because Fenix isn't allowed for your line of work.

The best part is that the tactix has a sapphire screen and solar. While the solar 6x only had gorilla glass.
Had the Delta for a couple days now, spent a little more to get the solar. Did not spend even more to get the ballistics which I think is the coolest thing ever and i shoot every weekend... just no long range shooting which that applies too. Love the watch.
The Tactix has a better looking screen. That is a 007 watch for sure. 👍🏻

Great watch, really. I'm loving it.
I'm switched over from a Polar Vantage V2. Big intersections in terms of functionality when it comes to activities of course. Overall the Garmin is way more versatile although the Polar has some positives as well.
I had the AW Ultra. Used for 1 year ish not bad but battery sucks, I wanted to do metrics while sleeping rather than charge it and forget to put it back after 1 hr, etc. I was using the Charge 5 but I gave it to my mom.

I went from a Fenix 6 sapphire, to a 6X sapphire and now a Delta. No question the Delta is the ONE. The Fenix 6 is too small, even on my 7.25 wrist. The 6X was nice, but the styling of the Delta blew it away.
Harold Rolfes they’re literally the same (feature wise). The tactix is also 15g heavier than the 6X Pro Solar, for example. Titanium vs steel.
@@stugots2863, the Delta has a night vision mode and some tactical modes that the Fenix is lacking. They can be beneficial if you're in the right profession.

And around here the Delta is like 200$ more than 6x Sapphire. For most maybe not worth it, but for me...worth every cent.

Good review. I may swap my 6X out I wanted all black to begin with didn’t want to pay 100$ extra for that brown band one. These are actually not expensive for how much they do after using it for the last two months.

Delta makes the Samsung appear as a child's toy. You can feel the quality of the Delta and battery life is amazing!!! With phone notifications on mine only uses about 3% battery in 24 hours. Of coarse it will use more if I wasn't at work and using more of its useful functions. But all in all, you get what you pay for. Loving my new Garmin Tactix Delta Solar
Thank you for this video! I just had a question about the diameter. What is your wrists width? I am 17cm (around my wrist) en worried if the 51mm is to big for me. I really want to go for the delta but if it is do big i will have to go for the 6, 47mm. Thanks again!
Now after a while i still say Delta is the better design for sure, for my taste that is..guess we all think diffrent. :)
Functions it´s most the same tho, do get faster gps on standard 6x and not sure why that is but maybe it´s just my device tho..:)
One problem i notice is I see way more damage done to the bezel than on my standard 6x Sapphire, so not sure if garmin did use a diffrent coating/material on Delta but seems to catch more damage over time.
Good thing to point out is i use my fenix watches hard, and been so from first gen..:) Knock it on things ( Bikes when fix motor/riding/crashing) and for sure take some beating on the MTB trails/hills ..:)

I don't like the poor accuracy of the sleep data on the 6X Pro Solar.
@@MidsierramusingBlogspot Personally, I have not had any issues with this (device related), HOWEVER, the watch only provides the information, it is the Garmin software; Connect App and Cloud that interprets it and there have been some issues in this regard in the past, so just make sure you are using the most current version of the Device OS and Connect App. Of course you can always use the Garmin Website for your data as well.

Garrett Saine they are but the glass on the domed glass gives off less light reflection.
That’s a characteristic of the sapphire screen, it reflects a lot. The screen of the delta is not better, it’s the same screen. If you compare to 6X Pro non sapphire that glare goes away.
Currently saving for it but ill be going with the delta solar with ballistics. Found one with public safety discount saving about $200 some odd dollars.
I see a few questions as to the screens. I looked at a 6x sapphire and the Delta which also had a Sapphire lens. With the same watch face I saw no difference. Not sure if there is a Gorilla glass version of the Delta? The Gorilla glass regular 6 I looked at did look different than the Sapphire lenses. I ended up with a regular 6 Sapphire due to the huge size of the X and Delta. 100% happy after 2 weeks use.
I get my delta on WEDNESDAY.. Yah!

I’m confused on one thing: does the tactix have a more vibrant/vivid screen projection or is it my imagination? It seems the colors are brighter on the tactix model. Also, doesn’t the fenix 6x have a titanium bezel which is also supposed to be somewhat indestructible? Trying to decide which I want to get. Thanks for the nice review.
Appreciate it! The screen on the 6x has been fixed with newer versions. Some early buyers got models with dim screens but that's been resolved. So, both watches have the same screen tech

At least it’s not a huge difference in actual features, the only use that would really make this worth it is if you were military. Since the main difference in software features is the features like jump master, night vision, and even a ballistics calculator(if you buy that version).

They can't have a speaker bc it would ruin the water rating. A lot of people use these watches for triathalons and swimming is a major sport

When the hour hand is pointing at 6 o'clock on a traditional watch, there is number 12 on the Tactix bezel. Do you know a use case for the numbers on the bezel on the Tactix?
It's a 24hr scale , traditionally used for keeping track of a second time zone. I'm guessing it might have a watch face with a seperate 24hr hand that you can set to say Zulu time. Either that or its just to go along with the whole military vibe . 🤷
Yeah it looks like you can get that watch face .Look at the first picture you'll see a funny looking hand , that's what you'd use to set the hour of the second time zone you're interested in tracking.

Within the first week, I scratched my 6X solar screen. $200 for Garmin to fix. Had a Sapphire 3 and 5X… not one scratch of the glass. I’m intrigued with the Delta Solar having sapphire glass. I thought the early releases of the Fenix said the sapphire did not allow for solar to go through since it is a crystal. I wonder how they “fixed” that.

yes the solar is longer but only if you take it into the sun so it can charge up

Hello Jabber! Do you have the same % of backlight on both of them? Because 6x screen with backlight looks more washout. This is a big problem with 6 line. Some people receive a unit wit great contrast some people low like mine 6x pro. Delta looks fine, I hope all new screens are improved.
Same brightness level on both. The delta has a slightly better looking screen to me

I don't know if anyone has had success getting a replacement bc of the screen colors. It doesn't bother me unless I'm looking at two side by side.
As an current Tactix C user I would go with Tactix D ,like the Tactix series more then F but they are based on the same tech with few slight differences .
I can’t find any reviews about the Tactix Charlie for some reason, is the Charlie much older then the Fenix 6?

What is the software version for the Tactix Delta? Is it the same as in F6X? I was wondering how often it will be updated in the future.
Like all manufacturers, the newest iteration will have features that never get carried over to older generations, even those that are a year old. Enjoy what features it has now and be happy with your purchase

Great review. Do you think that black tactix delta with DLC will be scratch resistance as Fenix 6x pro grey with DLC? I think that on grey colour could be less visible in case of scratch that on black, altough both are with DLC....
Good question, I've haven't owned a black dlc Garmin before this one. I can only imagine it would be the same as a black car vs a gray car... Might be more visable on the black dlc but only time will tell
I have the fenix 6X sapphire black dlc. It does scratch fairly easy. Had it a month and knocked it accidentally on things about 3 times. Now I have 2 very small places on the bezel where it’s chipped.

Honestly I knocked it pretty good 3 times and the 2 chips are minuscule. I can see it though and for a thousand bucks I was really disappointed it showed at all

Jumpmaster same as what's on my foretrex 601, allows you to do halo, haho and static line jumps and assisting with getting you to your target landing zone

Smaller and construction is all DLC titanium I have the Charlie but it’s not worth the Garmin Pay and Music additions only 🤙🏻
I read that the commander doesn't have solar and that the screen resolution is less. That's why I'm waiting for the next release whenever that shows up.
@@neiloppa2620 I did the same... researched it a ton as I was open to considering spending that much for the Marq... but it doesn't really equally compare to the Delta and certainly doesn't surpass it. Just looks amazing IMO.
