Wow. Super cool, I might get a JLX to experiment with, I didn't like the previous silent stick I had because it was less clicky and hard for me to feel when I hit a direction.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: At the time of this comment, the JLX is about to be released on August 3rd. Based on recent promo materials, I don’t think the custom spacing will be a standard feature on the JLX. This is only speculation on my part. 🙏🏼
The variable actuation would be the best thing for the Japanese Lever folks. Hope it will still be implemented on the release, though yeah i did read about it being removed, maybe JLX-V with V meaning Variable as a separate product 🤔
I can see how Sanwa’s design philosophy would feel it is too intimidating and complicated for general use and arcade operators would have issue with custom spacing. But like the JLF Mod Kit, I think they might release a PCB with micriswitch ex with this capability for direct order. But only if they think the demand is decent enough. But I would like to see it released 🙏🏼
Kind of… What variable spacing does is it changes how far you have to move the lever to input a direction (by pushing the microswitch). This works in combination with the actuator you use. For example, you can make it so moving the lever a little bit in a direction to start inputting that direction or you can make it so you have to move the lever allThe way to the gate before it’ll input that direction. Diagonals will get affected by both switch spacing and actuator size as well. Hope this makes sense but let me know if it’s confusing. I’m so glad Sanwa is implementing this feature :)
@Chanchai That's pretty much what I'm referring to. Like if you wanted to use this lever to play Tekken versus playing Street Fighter or KOF. You'd adjust so your inputs need to be more or less deliberate to hit the switches the way you want.
I will pin an update that I think the upcoming JLX looks great, but as far as I can tell the prototype feature in the video-the customized spacing, might not be a standard feature…
I changed the name of the video to clarify that this video is looking at a prototype with a feature that did not come stock on the JLX. That said, the JLX is a replacement of the JLF. It feels very similar but the build is more stable, it should move more easily, and it has a slightly shorter throw. At least from what I’ve heard. I have not yet been able to try the JLX, but I will soon ☺️
So at Evo Japan Sanwa was showing off this prototype with customizable switch spacing. However, this feature is apparently not stock on the JLX. Sanwa might be releasing this feature separately for players to use in their fight sticks if they want. The switch spacing determines how far you move the lever in a direction to get input. It basically affects the size and shape of neutral 🙏🏼
WHOA i didn't think new joystick technology was still being worked on/improved, cool to see
Oh, there’s lots of things happening every year in arcade levers ^_^

I really like how silent sanwa buttons feel and I feel like this would compliment those well!
I think so too! I hope Arcade Shock will be able to sell these 🙏🏼
Damn that's really cool. Have high expectations for this now lol

Just got it and no the custom spacing is not in it, a little disappointing
@@thesteelphantom8480 yeah, we will have to wait and see how they will release this feature, if they do 🙏🏼
@@thesteelphantom8480 I think they just released a new model called adjustable/variable actuator. Look that up they are on arcade shock for $44

I am so tempted to try this out. The spacing helps customize your precision, right?

@@SaintChanchaiis this thing releasing soon? Are u gonna do a review of it?
@@SmokeClubMusic I’m really interested in the JL-X and I will review it when possible 🙏🏼
@@SaintChanchaithe way I understand it is it helps improve Directional input response? Will this make jlx a bit on par with hitbox?
UPDATE: Sanwa is selling a limited quantity of these next week!

I think they go on sell on Aug 3rd. I'm definitely getting one.👍

so is it like a silent jlf but feels like normal jlf?
I changed the name of the video to clarify that this video is looking at a prototype with a feature that did not come stock on the JLX.

Chanchai are you coming to Fight Kingdom? Come beat me at VF5!
Yes!
i was asking this lever the microswitch it self to turn from level 1 to level 5 what is that mean?

WHERE can we buy it ?
They plan to release it this summer. I expect it to be available at popular arcade parts retailers 🙏🏼
