weirdly high quality video for an industrial subject. Good job.

Not really Samuel as injecting moulding and moulds are the Rolls - Royce of precision engineering ( toolmaking ) and anything less than high quality would be disrespectful to this beautiful craft .

Gotta agree with you here Samuel

I miss this field so much. I was in injection molding for 20 years till I changed careers to have a retirement.
I molded fuel components for the auto industry. If my company stayed in the NE, I would still be in the trade.
We had the best engineers and set up/process technicians in the business. Molded to very close tolerances. A true skill

Not clearing the string from the sprue on every cycle can also actually cut channels into the steel or aluminum. I always make my operators aware of that type of thing. Most of them dont realize plastic can cut metal. I would say 9/10 times i have burn on a part, inject speed usually fixes it, along with proper venting and cleaning of those vents.

Trapping air or what sometimes called "dieseling " can quickly burn /erode a hole in mold surfaces too.

      @@paul5683 Yessir, it sure will.

One of you experts should do a video about the giga die casting process and the problems that would happen in the molding of quality parts.

How to avoid cracks in plastic

    • @littlet7556

@Learn_123 , many of the cracks I've seen where due to part ejection. Mold not hot enough, over packed, ejection set too fast. The mold needs to be designed properly, too, with the proper radius. No sharp corners.
