Yay IG fam!!
I’m not a teacher but my eldest daughter is in grade 1 in Australia 🇦🇺. I find your videos absolutely fascinating!! It’s amazing how similar the teaching is (from what I can tell 🤔)
You are such a great teacher.
Aww thank you!!
I love watching your videos!
Hello teacher Allain, I am really enjoying all your videos.. Thank you for sharing.
In my case, We teach CH and SH with actions for CH we will act (pretending to be a train by moving arms at your sides like a steam train saying ch ch ch..) and for SH (place your index finger against your lips and say sh sh sh) I hope this help. Have a productive day always Teacher and God bless.
Love that idea!!
☘️☘️☘️ You’re doing all the right things for ch and sh! I like pairing with Lively Letters and gestural cues. Keep modeling proper articulation and quick burst of air for ch and long “big air” sh sound. Could be fun to bring in a spray bottle and compare ch to a quick spray. Students will need lots of practice and corrective feedback. Try picture sorts with these sounds, have students say word, identify and articulate ch or sh sound, and then place picture with correct letters. Keep chipping away and giving lots of practice!
Thank you!!! Love the spray bottle idea too!!
Love your vlogs!! Very helpful for a first year teacher like me!!!!!
Glad you like them!! Thanks for watching!
Great Vlog !😁
Thanks for watching!!
Hi
Hi! Thanks for watching!

Well Katie ,
New Student plus Your Students have missed you while you were gone .
Maybe it wasn't time to asses or lecture . They were looking for a release valve at the moment , the one where they get to embrace their new peer and their teacher .
Also , what are your constant classroom management strategies ?
Use them to do the talking for you .
Hope this helps .

Can you tell me where you got your box that has Band Aid on it?
I got it at Sams Club years ago in a Band Aid Set
I love seeing your daily schedule! Do you alternate lexia and iReady math every day? I’ve been struggling to get all of our minutes in for both of those throughout the week.
Ideally yes… realistically when in doubt I get them on Lexia 😅 We struggle to meet minutes for both too
In regards to sh/ch confusion. I would think that those kids need to practice one sound until it’s solidified then move onto the next one. Also perhaps do sound sort with sh/ch to make sure they can discriminate phonologically.
We were practicing one at a time that week but on the day we were learning /ch/ they kept saying the /sh/ sound so I guess it was the /ch/ sound they were really struggling with! Love the sort idea! It'd be interesting to see if they can HEAR the difference even though they aren't saying them differently
Your drawing of the student reading a book is so cute! 🥰
haha thanks! I looked up anchor charts on google for inspiration and just free drew what I liked!
were do you get your lanyerds? there so cute!
