We love seeing visual examples on your cabinets connecting concepts to picture books - such a creative way to help students reconnect and retain learning material. ☺

Yes, this week felt so long even though I only taught for 3 days (I ended up taking Thursday off to go to PT because my leg injury got so bad on Wednesday that every step felt like agony- it’s back down to only hurting, which is a great improvement!).

This sounds like my Fridays. I felt like I had a million and one things to get done and I still didn’t get to it all 🙃 Doesn’t help that we have early specials and it is in my classroom so my planning is kind of botched.

Katie, I have followed your blog from the beginning. Last year was my first year in 3rd after teaching 9 years in first grade. I appreciate you and all that you share in your vlogs!

    Hello Katie,
Remember that just as you the teacher(s) are in that dilemma between doing what works for the students and keeping school an educational institution the students also may have their own dilemma that they live with and it's between seeing your friends while having their day being dictated at school and living their lives while being reduced to the little clique at home.
Basically I am hoping that if you are thinking about reading one of those books to the students on Field Day that the book that you intend to read meets their interests or the talking out or talking with friends, etc. may take over the day, much less the classroom and that is if they have enough energy to turn the classroom into a party room.
With that said, thank you for the "fit checks" because they are making me happy when I need it right now.
I have had a cousin lose their life to cancer recently and I being a former autistic student now stay at home son am trying to stay strong and help My Caretaker through this period of grief.

We use IXL for Language Arts and Math...it's pretty good but we don't use any of the other online math.

What is the storage rack you have the colored milk crates stacked in? I’d love one for my classroom!

It's actually from a retiring teachers garage sale years ago! Closest I have heard to one is someone said it's like a newspaper wire rack? I've never been able to find it to link.
