Retired teacher here after 32 years. Some classes are just hard. I called them my "years from purgatory " (or worse!) The good thing is that after a hard year, the next year is usually so much better. I loved my good years, but learned so much from the hard ones. You can do this! Glad you're taking some time for yourself. Enjoy!
To stop the insanity of Valentine’s Day and passing out the items. I tell the parents that they are only to have their student write their name on the from line and leave the to line blank. It goes so smoothly now. ❤️ the conversation compliment heart idea. Can’t wait to see what you did for 2-22-22 day. It was our 100th day of school so it was super exciting.
I stopped having parents put names in the to section years ago. I have them put their name in the from section, and that is it. Kids go through and put one in each bag. It goes so fast and smooth.
I really enjoy watching your videos! You always inspire me to be a better teacher! I was wondering if you had tips for completing plans within the school day. I work throughout the day but I still end up taking them home to work on in the evening or weekends. What do you include in plans? What’s your planning process? Thanks for the videos!
@@chelsealotocki917 I made the letters on power point then printed and laminated! I can send you the ppt file via email later today if you’d like! Send me an email @ Mrs.Allain.in.elementary@gmail.com 😊
Where do you get your fluency passages for assessing reading fluency? Lesson planning is by far one of the hardest things I do as a teacher. I hope I become faster next year (I'm a first year teacher).
It will get so much easier as you become familiar with the curriculum! Our district uses the Lexia Core 5 computer program so I use their fluency passages! Check the curriculum resources you have, ask your instructional coach, and then if no luck check teacher pay teachers!
@@mrs_katie_in_elementary Does your Lexia Core 5 computer program record student reading and calculate fluency for you or does it only provide passages for you to use with your students?

So glad I helped convince you to take the days!!! You deserved it! Your productivity level on Monday and Tuesday was insane, haha!!

@@JesseB38 it does not! It has other phonics/PA/sight word/vocabulary activities! The fluency passages are from their printable resources
@@mrs_katie_in_elementary Okay! We have a different ELA curriculum and I'm still trying to figure everything out!
