I don't think the wedding dresses were very well researched
+colette walsh Yeah... Bridal fashion doesn't always follow the stereotypical trends for the decade.
+colette walsh Neither were some of the rings. In the 2000's many brides wore more unusual settings such as tension set rings. Titanium was a popular choice too. I don't really care which celebrity chose which style. They should have done more research.
The 60s is pretty bad 😣
As are the 80s, especially!
+colette walsh Yeah, I can't imagine that back in the 30's the standard wedding dress was actually pants.
They really needed to do more research ...
+Tinyfată im your 100th liker! lol
the pant suit and short outfit wtf
Yeah really! Nobody dressed like that in the 1930s! And if you looked like that in the 60s you were probably tripping on acid!
+choirkitty The pants suit was inaccurate, but some women, like Eva Peron, might've worn a suit dress. Fabric was being rationed, so something practical and re-usable was more common.
misfitforever20 ikr
Yes a suit with a dress or a blouse is more accurate. My great grandmother wore a fawn colored suit, nude block heels, and a bird cage in her hair. (1939)
Exactly
Unbelievably inexcusably horrendously inaccurate. I have studied and researched 1900-1980, and I can't even stomach this video. The rings hardly fit the eras, the 1920 isn't even geometric, the highest standards for settings were platinum and gold, also you forget the Edwardian, Art neveau period completely. Ascher cut diamonds in the sixties, most settings in the 70s preferred emerald cut or round in yellow gold, plus the princess cut diamond in the nineties was just as popular as the marquise! Ugh...
I love vintage jewelry but am no expert. I was wondering about the accuracy of this video and I guess I have my answer! Lol.
And a princess cut diamond in the 50’s. Just no.
SOMEBODY SAID IT FINALLY
Who was responsible, that's what I want to know???!
Yeah. i do not think they read or search any book. The rings and dresses are inaccurate. Could you imagine going to a wedding in 1933 where the bride is wearing pants? lol everyone would look at her like "wtf".
i don't know why they never showed the classic cut diamond centre stone on a plain platinum band. TIFFANY & Co.!!!!
Because it's too much like right?
That’s what I thought too!!
That’s what I was looking for!
Whoever does the research needs to be fired..
Amanda W ok calm down
That’s a little (no, TOO MUCH) harsh
maybe fined
I can't comment on the rings but the dresses.... Well I've never seen anything so ridiculous or wildly inaccurate! I have collected hundreds of photos of vintage wedding pics, and these pics bear no resemblance to the typical fashions of each decade. Did they do ANYresearch?
This video makes me cringe
They did none! Only wanted to follow Hollywood ideals!
Warrendoe Thank you! Oh my goodness it was making me scream I said no bridal dress these ways except for maybe in a fashion magazine for an editorial shoot 😳😳
Pants? In the 1930s? Right. And red nails on your wedding day? Right.......
Soooo inaccurate
It honestly looked more 70s to me.
Women actually did wear pants in the 1930s! Not very often, and certainly not to a wedding, but it was definitely a thing. Look up culottes, beach pajama pants, or Marlene Dietrich. Swishy, but kind of cute!
I think they were going with the overall style but yea ur right
I think it was based on something an avant-garde actress wore to her wedding the 1930s, however it certainly wasn't common let alone a "trend" of the era.
This is so inaccurate it should be taken off of RUclips
This was all sooooo wrong. Also Princess Diana was not married in the 1960's......
+Jennifer Waldeck It's not saying she was, it's just an example of someone well known who had a similar engagement ring
Jennifer Waldeck she might have a ring inspired by the 60s
It is a very 60’s inspired ring
@Άγγέλίκή δέλλήτρόλ Δελλη she was born in 1961.
They’re saying she has a ring like it 🙄
It REALLY bothers me that more than half of these rings don't even fit properly
I love 70s wedding dresses. My cousin was married in 77 and she looked like a Pre-Raphaelite painting. 🥰
Glamour needs an historian for this videos, for example... me XD
+mariana mendoza heredia a historian* an only is used when the next word starts with a vowel. Like for example That is an incorrect use if the word "An."
Im so sorry, you have all the truth
+mariana mendoza heredia just basic grammar skills, but everyone makes mistakes :)
Laken Garvin-Hall It is a traditional rule of English that an can be used before words that begin with an H sound if the first syllable of that word is not stressed.
So Mariana was correct
“An” is always used before historian -the h is soft. Say it out loud and you will see.
Pants in 30s???
Inspired by Marlene Dietrich(sp?) She always wore slacks and men's styled clothing
@@nancyomalley6441 its still quite unrealistic, even if women in The 30s and 40s started to wear pants more often, wearing them at your wedding probably almost never happened. Women today does not even do that often.
@@moastrandberg417 it's probably a wedding jumpsuit in the 1930s
Brides wore suits of dresses or skirts, it was affordable. You didn’t see most women wearing men’s wear to weddings. Marlene Dietrich didn’t on her wedding and neither did Katharine Hepburn.
@@nancyomalley6441 that woman was no inspiration for brides...
The engagement rings are not at all right. Many people didn’t even begin to buy diamonds until 1947. Before then, colored gem stones were the most popular!
The music choices for each decade had me choking but definitely smiling 🙂✨
What is 1960s??? Are u kidding ????
Wendy Ha ikr
I was like WTF!!! 😲
You would have had to be born then to know they are wearing hot pants. Yes, it was a big thing back then just like hip huggers.
That 1990's style will be what I'll wear for my wedding! Including the boots!! :D
lol, when she threw the flower, the ring came flying off.
I saw that😂
woow how did you see that.
me too
No it didn't... she had ring in left hand.. and threw the roses with right hand
Something definitely fell off at 3:11
The zoom in and zoomin out transition makes me laugh 😅😅
They were stepping on the dresses!
meme mom is going to have a stroke just by seeing the thumbnail of this video lmao
•alexanđra vran• yesssss!!!
Meme mom karolina ❤️❤️❤️
I love that I know exactly who you mean
The 1960s dress was terrible
Samantha Bridger I think it was not even a dress XD
Samantha Bridger ugliest "dress", but the prettiest ring💍😊
It’s not even accurate
Diana's hideous ring was THE ring in the 80s. It's really not a 60s engagement ring style at all. My mother and her friends were all engaged in the early-mid 60s and none of them had rings remotely like that. Small multiple diamonds is what they had.
My mom has a floral patterned one, even though she was married in the nineties. I may be biased, but that type is my favorite.
1960 has a model wearing shorts for a wedding day... .-.
Yeah, I thought it was really unusual
They were called Hot Pants and they were a big deal but normally worn with knee high boots with a tunic type top with an open front over them. When they walked, you could see the hot pants.
@@kamrynrainntree695 okay but on your wedding day?? Doubt it
They didn’t wear that on their wedding days, it was still a formal affair. A short or mini dress yes, but not hot pants!
@@MandiFrizzy some people DID! The sixties were WILD!!!!
100 years of engagement rings by MODE is more accurate
the 80s background music is awesome!
The coloured gemstone 😍😍
The 1970 ring and dress are giving me heart eyes. I want to look like this on my wedding day
great job on screwing this up lmao, you could of done better by just looking at old pictures of parents or grandparents....
That 20's dress is not really what was trend...
No it wasn’t, you didn’t bare shoulders really. This whole video is incredibly inaccurate!
it might be completely wrong, but i thought it was really pretty no matter what era
I love that so many of the comments are about the inaccuracies of this video
Love how the brides change style, haircut, nail polish and attitude according to the year
My mom had an 80s wedding dress (my parents wed in 1985). It looked nothing the one shown. .
Sorry but my mom and all my aunts were married in the 80's and their rings look NOTHING like that. Also, I hate the 2016 trend, personally.
So do I. It's too bulky, and EVERYONE has that ring! I got engaged in 2015, and my ring looks more like the 2000 style one in this video.
i personally love cushion cut diamonds (they look so soft and cute!) but, i would love to have a 3 stone engagement ring; i love what it represents. well, at least what this video says it represents...idk how accurate that is since most of the video was VERY inaccurate (':
Sara Johnstone i personally loved the 2016 ring. I dont like having more than one diamond on the ring like the 2000s one
I liked the 2016 ring, just not the dress.
I agree! The Halo ring is SO played out. I love mine. I was engaged in 2002 and have a custom made engagement ring with a princess cut diamond. I love love mine. I wasn’t into the whole three stone ring, I picked what felt perfect!!
what is the music @@ the 1950s part?? it's so good!!
Because I'm a lefty I feel like once I get married and I go to sign things it'll feel like I'm showing off my ring idk that's just me 😂
Also the 40, 70, 90, 00, n 16 were my favs
+Angel Williams I'm ur first like!
Show it off! I would. ;)
What's the point of wearing it anyway?
Anirudh Devabhaktuni I'm lefty too and I feel the same way 😂
I loved the 70's dress-Medieval-inspired
all so beautiful ♥ cannot say the same for all the different make up looks and dresses though. i can tell 2016 ring looks the most recent!
I'm surprised they didn't feature the Tiffany diamond solitaire look
Love the 50’s rigs, so beautiful.
I have rings inspired by my favorite decades for fashion-a 20's inspired garnet ring, a 50's citrine ring, and a 60's inspired blue sapphire ring
they're all pretty!
It’s amazing how things change over the years
I love how they snuck in the Doc Martens in the 1990s Clip
I like them all in their own ways... I couldn't choose one! :c
I love how the 90s casually has rocker boots just YASSS
How much do you think it to took to take the last shot?
1990 is my fav
Pause 3:10 The ring flew off her finger. LOL!
No it didn't... she had ring in left hand.. and threw the roses with rught hand
1925, 1970, 1980 beautiful👍👍👍👍👍👍
1925 ring is my favourite!!
what is the music name at the 90s ? i dont know why i teared up when i heard it , if u know it tell me please
70s ring is definitely my favourite I have an emerald cut engagement ring I love it
*thinks of panic at the disco because of the title* *starts singing the good the bad and the dirty*
These were all inaccurate but oh dear heavens what was the 1930s???? No bride ever looked like that!
All of the dresses are rather horrible, definitely very little research was done.
I love the last dress!
OMG the 1950s dress is gorgeous 😍
Back to the 50's then. With 90's flowers though. And 2000's veil.
I like the dress and ring in the first one.
The doc martens were a sweet touch
1923-1990-2016 are my favorites 😍
Beautiful engagement rings 💍
1940s and 1990s have me fave rings and 1950s, 1980s and 2016 have my fave dresses
90s & 20s are my favorite!
I feel like the 1960's ring would be everyday wear😂😂😂
25,50,60,2016 are the ones I like
1925 for the win!!
Skipped 1910 which was the most beautiful year!
the dreses were way off
The shorts in the 1960's are called "Hot Pants". Yes they were a very big deal just like hip huggers. Research them on google. You'll be amazed at past fashions you never knew existed unless you were born during that fashion trend.
I have a 1-carat marquise diamond solitaire ring! In white gold. I didn’t know they were popular in the 90s. My fiancé says he picked that ring because it was the most unique shape he saw.
I LOVE 1933 because it is simple and sweet.
Beautiful 🥰 👰🏼
I feel like i would be someone who would wear Dr. Martens on my wedding day
That was the only accurate thing in the whole clip. But it still was not common. It was mostly a simple mid heel court shoe.
I would like to steal the 1970s outfit and ring.
my favourite dresses : 1950, 1980, 2000s, and 2016
I have EXACTLY the 1960 ring!
I have a 1960’s engagement ring it’s a sapphire like the one in the video, it’s beautiful
1970er is my absolute favourite
Erm what about the classic cut diamond rings ?? Hello these are completely timeless!!
That's a beautiful dress
Does anyone know what the song playing for the 1950s part is? I loved it! Cool video.
Even though the research was horrible the 1950s was so cute
So impossibly wrong...
I absolutely loved the 1940s ring 0:55
1940s, 1960s and 1990s were my favouritee
That's a wedding dress?! 1:41 But the ring is so beautiful
What was the music for the 80s?
ya que estamos con los anillos caeria muy bien un 100 años de juegos de joyeria.
The dresses seemed pretty modern.
1940s ring was gorgeous
It looks like 1933 was wearing pants-- is that really pants? If it is pants, why pants?
Because their research team sucks.
fantastic .....
My mom had the a five stone one similar to the three stone one. My parents got married in the mid 50s.
1:28 STUNNING
Not even engagement rings escaped the 80s :/
I clicked because it said it would show history's wedding dresses.... not what I got at all.
