- As more and more people have Dental Implant treatment, problems with Dental Implants are getting more and more common.
Luckily problems with dental implants are rare, and most of them are easy to fix.

What bothers me is that so many dentist make it seem like implants will last the rest of your life. I really want one but I feel like every day I hear something new to convince me other wise.
I have one, don’t do it
@@SweetUareDesi why not?
VALENTINE: Yeah, been having bad probs with my natural teeth (falling to bits & not much left to save). And when I saw my dentist yesterday, I asked him about implants - if they are problematic. And he confirmed this. This is very disappointing.
@@bigcityjunglecatenvisageth1422 What did he say exactly?
@@FEARisCOLD: Yeah, when I went in there he saw that the problem with my tooth was that there wasn't hardly much left of it (the same as before with another tooth). So he just patched it up with a filling (for as long as it'll hold out) then he advised about an extraction. But when he said this (about having to lose my teeth) this only leaves me with two options - either dentures or implants. And because I don't want horrible dentures (which need to be taken out at night, etc) I was thinking more towards implants - which I previously heard had problems. So I asked my dentist if implants are "problematic" and he just said "yes they are". But this is all he said about it and did not extend the conversation. This is why I am searching out these videos about dental implants so as I can learn something more about it. But with all of this so called medical/dental science in the modern day, and it seems they cannot solve the problem of tooth-decay and tooth loss. It's just awful and leaves me feeling lost for what to do.
A lot of useful information about implants... thanks a lot Dr. Sehmi for your time and such a deep explanations....
I just had the 1st part put in...for a lower molar i lost years ago. I did it for cosmetic reasons. This is very interesting information. Clear and concise advice on what to watch out for. Thank you.
How is it going??
@@sl4983 Good. I get the 2nd phase of it done today. The temporary crown.
How much it's paining??
I’ve seen a few of your very informative video’s - your very well spoken - and you wear a turbin
Which is absolutely no problem- god bless you - keep up the good work
My former dentist tried to talk me into getting an implant. I asked what complications or side effects can occur with an implant he told me "none". Yeah, right. I know better. I'm a nurse & have taken care of patients with complications & infections. That was my last visit with that dentist.
There is no bad implants only bad dentists!
What? You're a nurse and you've taken care of patients with problems due to implants??
What would you do instead of an implant?
My experience is that almost all male dentists lie.
My auntie has had implants for nearly 20 years, and she got them in Pakistan even, not a single issue to date.
I just don't see how the body is OK with something being screwed into it. It will constantly try to reject it, even if that means sacrificing the bone. Continuous loosening could be from the bone degenerating. I think implants are set up for failure.
You are wrong.... a tooth implant is a very small screw.
Ppl have full knee or ankle replacements due to trauma and they are just fine
Well that picture sure tells you an implant is not worth $5000.
Great information and presented very well. Thank you.
What is the best option for getting a fixed tooth according to you? Bridge has it's own cons.
The teeth of the person in the video with the implant are awful, for this reason, the implant had a problem, I have an implant for over 15 years and have zero issue with it. I take care of my teeth.
Hello David! Hope you are having great time..
I am about to recieve an implant next month. Could you please share how do you keep the gumline surrounding implant clean? Is regular flossing enough or should I get Dental Water jet?
@@radhikashey360 The most important part, is to brush your teeth, the last thing you do at night, try avoiding French kissing at all costs, and of course clean your hands with soap each time you go to the bathroom for any reason and when cooking, even before and after eating. Flossing is not as important as the dentist says, because it can injure the gums, your gums have to be only pink, if they are dark red, this suggests you have a minor infection . I have an organ transplant, and when it was time to have an tooth implant, the specialists who drilled in the jaw bone, had the room sterilized , by a specialized team and everything was covered in white clean sheets because I am immunosuppressed and is a germ goes into the bone I can be in serious trouble. It took me 6 months to grow the bone to fill the hole that was left when the original tooth was taken out. Good luck.

If I have just molar implants would it be wise to have them slightly lifted, as one of your videos suggests for full arch, for an easier cleaning.
Can that improve my chances of NOT getting any gum issues?
Very informative and important info and done very well.
I must admit this does concern me.
Would having removable implants be best?
Thank you!

What is that??
Is it possible to add bone structure to an implant already inserted? The implant in there for 4 years, but at the XR is clear the gum is getting lower
What abour the titanium alloys or added metals to titanium? Do you recomend taking test for metal allergy? Are you able to get details of full metal composition in the imlants you
Are using? I was happy strauman being a grade 4 but then it has 12% of zirconia wchih my dentist even did not know and he said he uses it 12y .. strauman doesn't respond to me and it does not state grade of the added
zirconium i imagine its an alloy then. I am happy to learn it as i was sensitive to metals before so i need to check it.
I am having that problem with one implant that I believe was caused by the sinus infection I had before the implant acted up. I am hoping it heals before I see my dentist
Get denture ,no risk of periodontitis, no surgery required, affordable
depends. if lower molars get boneloss
That's what I am doing.
Can you please let me know if an oral metronidazole is fine to treat bacterial infection around the implant to slow down the bone loss?
Hello sir , Do crowns feel as natural as our natural teeth?
Initially you will feel unnatural, but as time paas ,,,, it's going to be normal...
I'd like to have mine checked there's been odd pain when cleaning. I'm also shielding so am not leaving flat so can't be seen now. These ( top and bottom) have been in only 2 years.
how u doin now? pain?
I am in the same boat and you better get to the dentist but a good one that will maybe save them
is it possible to do a sinus lift without removing existing implants?
Have you had success doing a class 3 bite opening up to create a class 2 bite?…what are the pros and cons and chances of success ? I currently have an under bite class 3 I’m told and want a smile make over
p: tooth extract yeay pain tooth gone
d: must replace tooth or boneloss

d: still boneloss. implant is the best solution
p: i'll take it!
d: good choice $$! ....yeah still boneloss
p: wtf
Facts😂😂😂
finally the truth! no one warns you about this I formation BEFORE you spend thousands of dollars.!
Mandibular bone loss
I'll just stick to my fixodent
Thanks🙏
What if you already have bone density from removal of all your teeth due to lack of funds because at the time you could not afford to have your teeth replaced can you still have implants or what do you suggest Dr
You can still get implants, you just may need a bone graft, make sure to do your research
This video really helped me understand why my implant is loose after 10 years with no problems. However, if it is due to bone loss I guess it is going to have to be removed
I thought bone lost is supposed to stop when the implant is implanted
@@ScreamTatumRiley In my case bone loss caused my implant to fall out about two weeks ago. I guess having it for 10 years is reasonable value for the original cost.
I would love if you recommend good dr in Kenya
What do you do for bone loss that an implant creates? Do you go in and put bone grafting?
??
Very informative
How do you find and vet a good dentist? I’m trying to find a good dentist to fix my smile, damage done from a previous dentist, and overall healthy mouth health. I live in America so any helpful tips would be useful
I'll try to make a video on my opinion on this... There are probably a lot of things that the general public may not be aware of
@@drgurssehmi thank you. I’m looking forward to watching the video.
@@Quannie26 yes this would be great!!
@@drgurssehmi Doctor did you make one??
Sir very informative I have 1 implant on the front .
I am a smokers and I also do vape .
What are the long term effects of smoking on implants ?
You will get your own answer one day.... when you get peri implantitis
Don't discursge
Yes cuz I have an appointment today for a cleaning and I want to know my treatment options and I might need an implant or bridges but I want an implant but now hell I’m scared 😂
How long does implant last?
I can't answer this, I tell people decades, as most last this long, but this answer is very vague and depends on a large number of factors
@@drgurssehmi Hello Dr. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I just had tooth implant crown yesterday and now I noticed a gap between my normal tooth and implant crown which is something I didn’t think about before.
How to minimize the gap between the implants crown and tooth before and after. Is this gap normal? Apart from keeping gap clean what should I keep on mind.
So the crown should not be glued on?
Do all crowns for implants sit inside the gum? I feel like I see some sit on top of the gum.
Different style of implants sit either in the bone, on the bone or on the gum. All used in different situations
Hello sir, if I do dental implant how much time last it?
your entire life bud, if you take care of then that is. gotta also watch out for things like bone loss.
@@angelvazquez3323 Implant cause bone loss?
@@emani2704 no, bacteria cause bone loss. if you don’t take care of your implant by brushing/flossing (general dental hygiene) said bacteria can eat away existing bone (the stuff supporting the implant) and ultimately lead the implant to fail.
I love this guy
How long does an implant take to heal??
Depending on the implant, it can take from 4 weeks, to 3-4 months for the implant to integrate (I often call this healing, but that's not technically correct). It can take longer if things like bone grafts or sinus work is carried out at the same time. The gums take a few weeks or sometimes days to heal
