And to answer your question yes I knew some of the stuff the Dr was talking about but there was little nuggets in between.
I have an implant which is 30 years old and still goi ng strong. My 2 other implants are 11 years old, and also have had no problems. It's vital to maintain good oral hygiene, and have regular dental check ups
@@twothirty5498 I brush, floss, and use a Proxabrush, daily. I am meticulous with my cleaning. I have invested a lot of money and time , so want to keep them. One of the most important factors when you decide to go ahead with implants, is to find the best periodontist you can find. I am fortunate to have a dentist who referred me to one of the top specialists where I live. They were not cheap, but you are investing in your health, and want them to last.
@Tayyab Shafiq I lost a lower molar years ago, and replaced the mising tooth with an implant. That was 30 years ago, and it's fine. I am sorry to hear that you need implant work at such a young ago. Your oral health is so important, so don't be afraid to have implant work done to replace missing teeth. Maks sure you have a reputable specialist check you, and that you can have implant work done. Also, the materials used for impants today are not rejected by the body. Implants, when done properly, are like having your natural teeth back again! I wish you the best of luck, and good health!
@Tayyab Shafiq I have the same crown for 30 years with no problem. As far as I know, my implant crown is porcelain. I have had no issues with it. As long as the crowns are well made, they should last years.
@karenpalladini5010 does implant cause any health problems in long run what was ur age when u got implant ?, im quite young and i may be getting 3 molars implants ( my other teeths are quite healthy including wisdom ones its just those 3 second molars who got rct and 2 of them is failing so)
Lost 2 front upper teeth when I was seventeen from the bandit's knuckle-duster. The implants were my salvation. I was able to install them only when I was 26 (complex and expensive case). But still, I was so happy when I got them. Almost 10 years since then. Like you said got one time a crown broken on business trip) Fixed it temporarily myself with a dental solution from a pharmacy. Otherwise, no problem. Almost 10 years. Implants is the best thing happened in the dental indusry ever.
I have implants for many years, and all are perfect. Keep them clean, regular dental checks, stay away from cigarettes, have a good diet and they will last. I spent too much money on efforts to keep some teeth going as long as possible, but it was a mistake. Keeping teeth that are ultimately unviable is probably a waste of time and money. I feel I should have got the three implants I eventually got much sooner than I did. Not arguing that implants are better, they're not, but you've got to recognize a lost cause as soon as possible.
@@pany167 Hi, thanks for the question. I should be clear that I don't have a full implant bridge, just three implants replacing individual teeth. I have them more than 8 years now and are perfect. However, my brother who lost all his teeth, came to Istanbul from Ireland to get them done. 6 implants on the top and 6 on bottom with zirconia bridge. It was too expensive in Ireland, fifty thousand, so came here to a world class facility and got it done for fifteen thousand including 2 trips flights, hotels, airport collection, and they're perfect. He has them 5 years now. There's a big difference in cost and the equipment and techniques were better than the anything available in Ireland and with more expertise. They all speak English too so you know what's going on. They get a lot of EU and Americans coming too. Of course whether you do it at home or overseas it's very important to check the reputation of the clinic before deciding.
@@pany167 Yes, normal brushing and flossing. However, some people find flossing difficult and use a water pick instead which is equally good. I alternate between flossing and water pick. Looking after the gums is very important so keep them clean and the biggie, is don't smoke. You can lose an implant just as easily as a tooth if you're not careful. I saw a video of a woman who spent sixty thousand on implants but continued to smoke and lost all of them. Now , she can't even wear dentures. It's better to fix a problem as soon as possible as the more bone you have , the better the results. Appreciate the question !
Very interesting thanks. I'm hoping to help mine last forever (or at least for as long as I care which will be a while) but I think the key is keeping up regular check-ups as well as general good practice like brushing and flossing. The longer you leave something ignored the greater chance of something going horribly wrong
I've had my 2 implants for 14 years with no problems. I make sure to brush and floss every day and see my dental hygienist twice a year for a cleaning. My dentist advised me to keep those expensive puppies extra clean. And as much money I have spent on my teeth over the years I do. I just wish I was as thorough in my younger years, then I wouldn't have had to get implants and all that other work done in the first place. 😄
@@Jaihindurashtra1 I would use caution with nuts like almonds. Meats are fine unless you're trying to rip off a piece of something like beef jerky. LOL I may be a bit over cautious but I don't want to press my luck and regret it later. Basically, if you have any regular crowns already use the same care.
I had my dental implant in 1996 still great today. Make sure you are healthy, have healthy bones, do NOT smoke, do NOT drink and it should last a life time.
Yea well when your working to barely stay alive, drinking and smoking are the only things keeping me going. Can't say I'm looking forward to working another 30yrs to be just getting by
As a practicing Periodontist who sees failing dental implants almost every day, I fully agree that natural teeth if they can be saved is my preference. Dental implants succumb to the same diseases as teeth, breakdown of hard and soft tissue, negative effects of systemic disease such as diabetes and accelerated loss of support with grinding and clenching.
Thanks for your honesty. Very few dentists are like you. Socrates said being honest to ones own self is the best service one can do society. Such people naturally honest to others and out side as wel.
Thank you for your honesty, which is quite rare among dentists. Every dentist I've seen tries to sell me implants. And they all say they last forever & the success rate is over 95%. Lying for profit is disgusting.
A lot of these problems that you mention about dental implants probably be monitored through regular x-rays every other year. Hopefully your dentist will keep an eye on the condition that only have fillings, inlays, crowns but also the implants and hopefully pick up problems early and address them appropriately.
So what are you supposed to do after you've already paid the dentist $5000 and the crown and implant fails? Shell out another $5000 just to take the risk that it will happen again? You could buy a car with the amount of money being thrown away. This really makes me mad.
Thanks for the very informative video. I am 66 and spent a lifetime of brushing and flossing but lost two teeth ( just broke off at the surface ) in the last couple months and am going for implants. Now at least I am going informed ... Cheers from Nova Scotia
I was hit by a car while out walking and my front four top teeth were knocked out (also pallet broken in 2 places- not to mention all the other broken bones). I am planning on getting an implant supported bridge. I hope I can take proper care of them. My other teeth are in good shape.
I would get a screw in one if I would be you. They can take them off easy and put them back on. If there is a problem or for cleaning. I never see this technic on YT. I have screw in, and I can even take care of them myself. Doctors do not like that, but my doc knows me very well.

Please Dont bring other countries down !!! I am from the UK and i can say here in Thailand they are way way way more advanced The dentist showed me 5 ways to go for an implant and spent hours going through the procedures In UK they did not care one bit it was take it or leave it aproach The equipment here and ct scans are way more advanced than i ever seen in UK I always thought like this doctor Thailand was behind in tech but Thailand has opened my eyes
lol check the difference between Spain and Germany.. Germany is like middle ages too and way to high costs. I heard about Thailand and many people go there get the teeth done without regrets.
I agree. I used to live in Dubai and never had issues with the dentist. Every operation was perfect. I now live in the UK, had one filling which the dentist insisted should be a glass-ionomer, and the filling moved causing a “leak” which led to an infection. I returned to the dentist with a swollen gum and pus 1 week later, she said it was a “high bite” and shaved some of the filling. 2 weeks later the pain went, but a recurring abscess formed. I then returned after 5 months to find out that it was never a “high bite” but an infection due to a botched filling, and the pain only subsided because my nerve died! Useless! And to have found out that resin, which I wanted, has better adhesive properties and durability and this probably would never have happened! I went for a second opinion as I needed a root canal, and the botch dentist wanted to do it telling me I have a month until it needs to be extracted. Turns out, I have about sixth months before that stage, and I have been referred to a specialist because general dentists shouldn’t operate on branched infections if they don’t need to. Pathetic in this country, there are hardly any regulations keeping these botch jobs in check. A bad filling could end up with failed implants, it’s a terrible thing to have such little care for such an artistic practice!
Only get 100% ceramic implants . They are "bio-inert" . And the implant/abutment is only one piece .There are no threads . And no dissimilar metals , to generate a static charge of micro voltage . This can interfere with sleep .
I'm watching this video again on a Saturday morning after a good workout I am the dental technician in Dallas Texas working in an all on X dental lab I watch all your videos, can you make a video on snap ons over implants. and how important is it to have and even distribution of the implants and how much cantilever is acceptable?

Funny you mention about bad timing of dental failures & those specific events you mention are uncanny. My crown fell off the day before I left for holiday & then several years later on NYE just before i was about to kiss a girl I met @ midnight.
I wondered about rejection of implants. Does it ever happen? At 82, I probably will never need this kind of procedure. I floss and brush after every meal and my dentist is happy with the state of my teeth and gums, although I am the one unhappy with some of the gum recession.
I've had full implants - upper and lower done in San Jose, Costa Rica by Dr. Marco Munoz Cavallini in May 2008 after a botched job in Lombard, IL. Dr. Cavallini was the 1st implantologist...his son did the dental work - beautiful work. I experienced my teeth loosening - I tended to my parents declining health since 2000, with my hair falling out... to this day my implants and teeth are impeccable. By the way I am a female posting on my boyfriends youtube.
Yes, the longevity of implants can vary. Some of the factors involved include gum and bone health. I eat a very healthy diet and do take some supplements. The reason my implant ultimately failed was because I had two molars removed about two years before and it put pressure on the front tooth implant (i also grind my teeth). The titanium implant snapped. I had a new one put in as well as two molar implants and they are doing well.@@TeeTee-zm2re
Doc would appreciate a video on , when is rootcanal procedure needed & the pros & cons of it. Also cleaning of teeth done at the clinic is it really needed or is it just a gimmick.
Good question! I wonder that too because my orthodoncist give me appointments every 5 months and I suspect is just for the money. Why not once a year? It would be more reasonable. Too much deep cleaning could damage the teeth and gums even more. But they are supossed to know best.

Thank you so much for your honest opinion on implants. I have been considering them, but feel that they are very expensive to go ahead and find they are a mistake. or that I have issues with them.
Thank you Doctor for sharing that important information. It was wonderfully explained as well. I’m trying to help my sister. She has terrible bone loss and periodontal disease; pocketing at least 11+ each tooth. She doesn’t smile anymore, it looks really bad. She wants implants but her dentist is trying to scam her, offering a “lifetime warranty” for 80K full mouth. He’s not an oral surgeon but advertised as one. I hope she didn’t already give a down payment of 30K before starting the process. People please be careful.
I think it has to do with how you bite , what material etc. I have them and I do have problems. I also think that allergy problems are over looked. You can react to Titanium, or the material that goes ON the Implant! The Metal they use for the tooth to put on, no matter what material the tooth is, is NOT titanium. And I think that is where my problem is.
I bite corn on the cob, chicken, steak etc., with ne problem. It depends on a good implant specialist that does the work. I have mine for over 20 years!

HI Dr. Sehmi, about 6 weeks ago, Had 2 my teeth taken out by general dentist claiming that I had minor gum infection and had to be extracted as I got a chip on my one crowns which I had got them about 16 months ago. I called the dentist who did the crowns on my teeth Number 13 and 14. After one week, complaining that I had heard crack as I was chewing food on that side. I went to her and she told me, No, everything is fine.. Unfortunately she lied because after 4 months, I started getting minor pain there and not to mention the gum was bleeding every time, I Would floss or brush. I called her again complaining about it, her respond was, " just do a thoroughly cleaning, it should get better." But in reality it got worse. That's why I had to go to a new dentist 6 weeks ago. He said the chipped crown caused so much infection that damaged both teeth which I had to extract them. he also put Bone Grafts as he claimed I didn't have enough density. He used vera particulate bone. To be honest, It was all done without my consent which makes me mad. I never wanted a foreign object to be put in my body. As soon as I found out, I asked him to remove it but he refused. At this point, I don't think I do want to get Implants costly and unreliability . My question is, Am I being too paranoid about the grafts?
They don't tell you if they craft cadaver bones, because most people refuse, so if you ask, they have to answer, that what happened with me, I left and go to oral surgeon. Best decision I did, now I search and search, when I go to do something I already know everything, inclusive new things approved.
@@Brancaalice people dont like idea of cadaver bone........but its just a kiln dried mineral matrix really.. Your body grows your own bone through that matrix. Yes,plus if you didn't get an estimate and treatment plan I'd be shocked because the dentist wants to be paid! Few insurance plans pay for this. I'd check what paperwork you have, you obviously have the name of what was placed. How did that happen without consent? The graft can stay there whether you get an implant or not. The graft integrates with the bone. You'd have to have BONE removed!

My front 2 bottom teeth are baby teeth that never came out and are giving me some issues due to some tartar buildup that exposed bone. @@mango-strawberry what issue? The bone exposure/tartar buildup? It just started becoming an issue about a year ago, when I was 22. Probably would’ve been able to put things off a bit longer if I’d gotten the tartar removed earlier.
I got a Valplast for 35,36 and 46 in February. It fits perfectly and I can eat everything which is amazing. I do not want implants because of the reasons you mentioned plus the fact when we become old and we get problems with them it will be very expensive and one hell of a procedure if you have a bone loss. Since I have the Valplast the bone loss stopped. If for example one tooth on a Valplast brakes it will cost under 100 Euro but a crown on an implant is about 1000 Euro. once you loose your implant due to a periimplantitis I doubt that you will redo the implant for 3000 Euros again. People should consider this fact. In Germany you pay now at least 3000 for an implant plus a bone augmentation which is about 1000 Euro for 1 tooth. What do you think about my points? Thank you for your advises.
@@maryberon4193 These are partials made from Nylon material. There is no metal. It is a substitute for bridges and implants. In the USA it is well known. Hmm... I'm going abroad to get a good service actually. All of the stuff that I had done in the UK over the past 15 years has cracked and resulted in a loss of 5 teeth. Even now I had two crowns fitted in UK in March/April, went to Poland and was told they were not fitted correctly because there's a tiny gap between the tooth and crown (I paid £2400 for them as well!). I'm sure there are plenty of good dentists in UK but I'm lucky to have a great dentist in Poland where crowns are half the price and implants are a 3rd of the price so I'd rather go there.
I live in the US, had 1 front tooth #10 pulled 35 years ago, got a bridge held by two adjacent teeth, now they pulled #9, said there was a fracture, the one that held the fake tooth. So now I have one post #11, next is no tooth and next is no tooth. So I went to two dentists, asked if I can have two implants next to each other and where I have a post #11 just put a crown but both of them said its not a good idea to put two implants together, they didnt really explain well so anybody has two front implants next to each other and next to them is a crown?! I am so tired of a bridge since I was 16 yo, now early 50. Thank you

How about zirconia implants? I read that they are superior in every possible aspect to titanium ones. Is that true that they're also much more expensive?
I've recently had crowns, veneers and an implant (UK). As far I am aware the actual implant is always surgical grade titanium as used in fracture clinics for fixing bones etc. The crown that fits to the titanium implant (or fits over a ground down tooth) is typically zirconia if it is a good quality one.
What kind of bone graft material would you recommend? I have had a graft from animal's source and it has dislocated itself, forming a hard ball on my gum? I am not sure that receiving bone material from an other specie is a wise choice. I would not agree to it again. Your take on that? Thanks.
I have a video on this exact thing coming out later today! Bone from another species does work very well, in the right situations. Of course there are ethical arguments as well.
Material from cadavers is also used. When I found out that was usually their first choice and they usually don't tell the patient it is from a cadaver, I refused the use of cadaver material, and another material was used. It has been years so I don't remember what that material was made of but it worked well for me.
I appreciate a lot the information you provide which is very helpful and hard to get some where else, I trust your information and skills but unfortunately I live in New Zealand, Auckland, I wonder if you are aware of a good implants specialist, lot of thanks.
I am having my 2 front teeth installed at the end of the month. I spent 8300.00 to have 2 teeth done . It is being done in the USA, I am concerned just in general. You are informative, thank you. Hi Dr Sehmi, what recommendation would you give. Im 32 and I had 3 premolars removed because of braces. Actually they were gonna be all 4 but the dentist office said to go another day to remove the final one due to reaching the allowed anesthesia. Well in the end i didn't go back because i read the downsides of removing premolar bicuspids and how it affects you in the long run and wasn't mentally prepared for it and didn't want to proceed. Its been 9 months now and i was looking to just have 3 implants put in 2 on top and 1 on the bottom of my right side. I still have braces on but not with the same ortho because i felt he he didnt care enough to educate or make a less invasive procedure and made an easy decision on his side even from the start of treatment. Anyways I from Texas and my city borders Mexico and my new ortho is in mexico which hes very good and the dental care he provides i feel is better that in Texas because he listens to his patients and gives his options and explains everything in detail. I was able to find a state certified maxillofacial surgeon in Mexico that does dental implants to jaw surgery among other stuff. Cost for all 3 implants from start to finish was an estimate of $4600 USD Total . Now i have questions of what i just saw on your video. It makes me not want to get them and proceed to remove the 4th premolar and close the gaps but then i read alot of threads where people got the same treatment as kids and now as adults regret it because of the downsides effects and are trying to reverse it and get implants so im just stuck in a bind.
Imo it depends on what you value most, losing teeth can make the shape of your face looks deform/uneven so for me keeping and replacing lost teeth with implants would definitely be my top priority no matter the risk but straight teeth is also important. Since it's all 4 teeth you might remove maybe you won't have an uneven face shape problem but you'll likely still experience changes, may not be that noticeable but it depends
@@aktharar9363 same here. Look for ortho who can do expansion using MSE also keep the spaces open so that you can put implants in future or bring the back teeth front.

Interesting info. except: What would the good doctor suggest if we have an absessed tooth that is problematical? Would he recommend simply removing the tooth and leaving it at that? Would he recommend a root canal, which has its own problems? The base situation that he identifies at the beginning of the video (removal of perfectly good teeth and replacement with implants) seems an extremely unusual (and amazingly expensive) proposition that would apply to very few patients.
He didn't seem to address the issue of just pulling the tooth and doing nothing because most people think their whole set of teeth must be perfect. I think what he was saying was that implants are technically better than any other repair, such as root canals and crowns, bridges, dentures etc. Being old, when I had a tooth go bad under crown I considered no other option than to have it pulled and doing nothing else

Thank you for the overview on dental implants and setting expectations that they're not forever. However, you haven't actually answered your question as to how long they last! I imagine that could be a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" type question, but given optimal care, etc could we expect to get 5, 10, 20 years out of one?

I had my first dental implant about half a year ago with a periodontist, for a tooth with a crown that broke off at the gum line, upper right second behind the canine tooth. I was surprised it was completely painless and fairly quick for the tooth removal, bone prep and implant. Not much pain afterward, I think I took a percocet once or twice afterward, and I think the moderate swelling took a few days to go down. Had to wait four months--was actually little over four months when I had the appointment, with my regular dentist, maybe about five months when the crown was placed. It's been four days since the crown was placed and after two days it felt more normal, but I starting to feel a little funny pressure currently as I'm typing this. Maybe it needs more attentive cleaning, it also seems like the hole that was filled with composite, as it is a screw on crown, feels like it needs more composite to fill it in, unless that's just the structure of the crown in the middle--I'll have to check with her, but it feels too recessed.
Natural teeth DO LAST FOREVER, AND CAN. it’s only from process foods that we loose teeth. Skeletons have been found hundreds of years old with perfect teeth .
I have no idea why, but my body rejects most metals its been exposed too. This is why I can't have dental implants, they will only come out. None of my caps, bridges or fillings that were metal survive very long.
I can not carry 32 teeth because of my disability, over crowding problem, small jaw/mouth . I think I have 28 teeth including wisdom teeth . I go to the dentist regularly
Obviously you are talking about the British teeth that are horrible for some reason , I am Canadian and have great teeth, I was hit by a hockey puck while playing hockey and 10 years ago I had an implant, it cost me $2000 CD just for the implanted post plus another $400, to sterilize the room and all equipment as I am immunosuppressed due to an organ transplant, everything was covered with special fabric, plus of course the fees for the dentist who made the implant and glued it. I have zero issues with that tooth and no issues with the gums

Even with the natural teeth if you meet the wrong dentist you will get bigger issues with your teeth What I believe is having and being connected to the right people who are in the best interests of those they are helping If the dentist is a Good dentist that does Good job yes nothing last forever but you will have a long lasting implant If you go to the wrong dentist with little cavity he or she who isn't experienced in his or her career will drill your teeth down to the nerve causing you to end up needing a root canel My point is let's all pray let God direct us all to the right and good people instead of those that will make matters worse for us There are some very good dentists and there are some very bad dentists out there.

How do u take care of ur dental implants do they use a Special floss?
Is there any gum recession around your implants @sergeikuranov7033
I have implants for many years, and all are perfect. Keep them clean, regular dental checks, stay away from cigarettes, have a good diet and they will last. I spent too much money on efforts to keep some teeth going as long as possible, but it was a mistake. Keeping teeth that are ultimately unviable is probably a waste of time and money. I feel I should have got the three implants I eventually got much sooner than I did. Not arguing that implants are better, they're not, but you've got to recognize a lost cause as soon as possible.
@brianmsahin how long have you got them ??
@@brianmsahin Thanks for replying.... May I ask do you have to floss that implant teeth daily ??
The plate is so close to the gum that you can't get underneath. Good luck.

A good dentist would take X-rays of the bone to make sure the implants won’t be rejected.

Thank you for your honesty, which is quite rare among dentists. Every dentist I've seen tries to sell me implants. And they all say they last forever & the success rate is over 95%. Lying for profit is disgusting.
Grinding and clenching are my issue. I might have one (an implant) n the back in about a week, will a mouth guard at night help?

I am from the UK and i can say here in Thailand they are way way way more advanced
The dentist showed me 5 ways to go for an implant and spent hours going through the procedures
In UK they did not care one bit it was take it or leave it aproach
The equipment here and ct scans are way more advanced than i ever seen in UK
I always thought like this doctor Thailand was behind in tech but Thailand has opened my eyes
lol check the difference between Spain and Germany.. Germany is like middle ages too and way to high costs. I heard about Thailand and many people go there get the teeth done without regrets.
Also Turkey is best place to get implant and high tech.

I wonder that too because my orthodoncist give me appointments every 5 months and I suspect is just for the money.
Why not once a year? It would be more reasonable. Too much deep cleaning could damage the teeth and gums even more.

I have had mine for over 18 years with no problems. It depends on the dentist you go to.
I think it has to do with how you bite , what material etc. I have them and I do have problems. I also think that allergy problems are over looked. Hi Dr Sehmi. At 12:08, why did this lady's implant a year to get resolved? Great videos. Very well explained
What about the tooth in front of it and the one behind it …doesn’t that come in to play with an implant.. it did for me there was too much of a space between my implant and the tooth in front of it …and it caused my implant to come out …it literally just came out one day and I had a lot of pain with it …so the actual fit between the two adjacent teeth is very important
Go and seek legal advice for dental negligence and poor treatment 😱
They don't tell you if they craft cadaver bones, because most people refuse, so if you ask, they have to answer, that what happened with me, I left and go to oral surgeon.

@@maryberon4193 These are partials made from Nylon material. There is no metal. It is a substitute for bridges and implants. In the USA it is well known. I went full dentures with ti implants, bone grew over them, prior to last segment of implants.
I clean dentures every night.
So nice to not have bad breath, what do you have for under arms.
If they do deep cleaning over and over, and after two weeks your gums keep bleeding.
Stop getting milked, pull the teeth.
By 2 nd year i love my dentures. Vista dental vancover washington. Best price and I got quoates from alot of places, here was price differance. $16,000 to $59,000
Thank you Dr Sehmi. Very informative.
Had uppers done. I have lost 3 lower implants and 3 posts in upper festered out.
I rejected a tooth implant after 4 years later and during Christmas vacation. I'm too scared to get another one.
So how has it been. What come after your body rejects it? Just wondering because I will need 3 implants.
@@MartinHernandez-qq2fw it's been good. I don't want another implant so I am just missing my last molar on the bottom. But my teeth have shifted some.
Thank you very much for all your info on dental implants.
I live in Florida, the dentist has been very popular where I live at here in Florida. This is a very wealthy community, he specializes in cosmetic dentistry. . Because I had thick jaw bone , the process only took a few months
Do you have any gum recession around your implants ??
If you get them done by True North Dentistry in Plattsburgh Ny they last about a week.
Since it's all 4 teeth you might remove maybe you won't have an uneven face shape problem but you'll likely still experience changes, may not be that noticeable but it depends
facing same problem :( two upper extracted
Same here two premolar teeth extracted and i quit braces treatment due to sunken face..i'm looking for an implant.
Do missing teeth will affect gum?
@@aktharar9363 same here. Look for ortho who can do expansion using MSE also keep the spaces open so that you can put implants in future or bring the back teeth front.
I am going through the exact same thing as you, I was advised by oral surgeons to not proceed with my extractions as that will cause TMJ issues in the future and also checked by Xrays and told me it wouldnt look good for my facial features. Im only 19 so its quite young for implanyts hence im scared but i hage no other choice,. Ive had 2 uppers extracted btw. This whole process has been so mentally draining and stressful. I hope you find a good periodontist to work on ur implants
Good Info Doc, thanks for this very informative and useful video, God bless you 🙏
Animals in the wild never brush their teeth ever in their lives. Are their teeth constantly rotting, do they have sewer-breath?
Doctor my inplant is done now i am waiting for healing my last appointment to surgent is 13 dec so after that they gona sent me to dentist to get crow on it so can i get crown in same day or it take time?
I have a question. If someone has no teeth for over 20 years and pretty much eats every like steak, potato chip, toast and so on no food that’s hard like peanuts tho how long will the gums last or will there be long term problems that I might not be aware of 🤔
Thank you for the overview on dental implants and setting expectations that they're not forever. However, you haven't actually answered your question as to how long they last! I imagine that could be a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" type question, but given optimal care, etc could we expect to get 5, 10, 20 years out of one?
I've had one implant for 25 years now. It's still going strong.
@@chawkins1963 Great to know. What type of implant was it and did you have to build up your bone before it was implanted?
@@jnova3328 Porcelain on a titanium post. Yes I had to have a bone graft.
@@chawkins1963 Thanks.
@@chawkins1963 is it a molar implant? I heard those are the ones prone to failing the most
My 2 front teeth have feel out my mouth due to a fall. I need a bone graft now do you think it would be best to get implants?
Hi sehmi, what about if I don't like implants is there any other options?
I don’t go abroad to get my teeth done because it’s cheap, I do it because the UK is overpriced and NHS is poor quality, I can get zirconia in Greece a better price then the uk
I've had a tooth break off of my upper partial and so I superglued it back on. Worked like a charm and saved me a bunch of $$$.
No way
@@tswwarrior8089 Yes way! As a matter of fact, the gum part that the teeth are mounted to, separated from the metal plate last week and I super glued them back on, and they're still holding strong. What do you think they use to hold them in when they're sent in for repair?
@Saxon idk but I didn't think literal superglue
@@tswwarrior8089 Well, they could be using some sort of epoxy but if super glue works.
Can you PLEASE do a video on why your teeth might break and fall out at a younger age than normal and/or if it's possible to cause permanent tooth damage from over brushing? Honestly, I just wanna know WHY I have less teeth at age 30 than most people do at age 60. I brush and floss my teeth religiously, so why are my teeth SO MUCH worse off than people I know who never even brush theirs?!?! Sigh* It's just not fair...
Good idea, I have put this in my list of ideas!
Me too. I brush and floss regularly. But my sister does not floss, brushes only once in the morning but has all her 32 teeth intact. I have already lost 6 teeth, and more are in line.I have done capping to some teeth to keep fillings to stay better. But they caused teeth fail, leading to RCt, later RCT teeth also got failed and extracted. Now dentist says to go for implant rather than bridges..!! I doubt whether implants will be successful to me or not. I have no health problems and I don't even eat junk food, chocolates etc. Peopl with less dental cleaning and less dentist visits have better teeth...!!its unfair.
@@sreeramgt5120 i'm exactly the same as you. one dentist asked where i came in the family, i'm the youngest. apparently with each pregnancy a mother has more nutrients are used up and the teeth of each subsequent child can be weaker? Also I grind my teeth badly which I think is a big factor in my tooth loss.
@@roisinmc7442 grinding teeth is a psychological problem..!! You can release /remove that thought pattern by doing some kinds of meditation. You have anger on some one or some thing which unconsciously results in such habits. Each habit has an utility software called thought pattern. These patterns can be released by meditation or mantra chanting. Teeth should be in better condition for mantra chanting efficiency..!! For meditation thats not required.
THIS! Amen and same here!😔
Age is a big factor.
Bone loss
Receding gums
Just like dentures or crowns
I am sure they need to be modified as you age
I have to get an implant and I'm terrified of the procedure. Any advice to get over this fear?
Thank you for some great information!
They have ceramic implants now
So what is better then after tooth loss... Implant or nothing? 😬 .... Great channel and honest info - greetings 👌🙂
If I understood correctly, we should try keeping our natural teeth, for as long as we can.
Exactly - Yes (If they are not beyond repair)
I can not carry 32 teeth because of my disability, over crowding problem, small jaw/mouth . I think I have 28 teeth including wisdom teeth . I go to the dentist regularly
now that is a first to hear that. How can Titanium Implants break like that?!
Hi doctor Sehmi, thank you for all the information that you provide here. I would like to visit you as I need an Implant, however I live on the other side of the world. Can you recommend an oral surgeon in Sydney Australia. Thank you.

@tinazgonik5904 do you have any gum recession around your implant crown ??
Nice video on dental implant. whether a CABG patient can undergo dental Implants. what are the pros and cons .
Sir what do u think till which year stem cell teeth regeneration come,?
Actually I will probably lose one teeth due to resorption
Are root canal and implant available on the NHS?
Is Ti Al V alloy is toxic or worse compared to pure Titanium?
