I’m finally at the skill level where this is applying to me. Your tip about not boosting while you make the air roll adjustment is really helping me reach the ball properly to get the reset. I just hit a couple in freeplay for the first time! Normally I’m critical of you but this was a good video man. Thanks!
I was doing the hover method until this video. Always wondered why I couldn’t get it right even though my mechanics were good enough to start learning them. Thanks!
Hey Luke, I think it would be helpful to me and lots of other people if you did a video on the next step after you hit gc. I’ve found it really hard to keep ranking up once I got there and I don’t know what to do
It’s kind of difficult because theirs very different topics for improving but also it is a much smaller population of people above gc so if he wants to get views, subs, and exposure it will work out much better if he focused on lower ranked like diamond and champ because most of the population stays there and they need the videos
you literally have the most perfect timing when it comes to uploading these types of vids i was literally practicing flip resets rn im a diamond tysm for the tips
Ground to air dribble is a much more effective thing to master than flip resets. Flip resets require a very specific set of events to occur. Ground to air just requires the ball to be rolling towards you. Of course you could also flip reset off a ground to air, but you're not going to be doing that without mastering the first.
Gotta give credit! Been practicing these for a couple months, and the tip about how to come off the wall to go for the reset helped tremendously. Before I was coming off how you would for a normal air dribble and trying to rotate quickly which hardly ever worked, so coming off the wall backwards and hitting it that way almost immediately tripled the consistency. Thanks for this!
FFS. I'm D2 and flying upside down into each ball perfectly was harder than I thought. Thanks for ruining my confidence, Luke. 🤣🤣🤣 But, working on that & the rest. Terrific video, as always (!!!).
Any chance you could make a vid specifically on finishing a flip reset? I can do a flip reset flick consistently but waiting and readjusting after the reset for a delayed shot is proving to be a challenge. Thanks for all the informative content!
I Love the fact that you found out people need to get more mechanical to be at the top and is now making mechanics guides to help them be consistant. If I was to ask you to make one it would be on the ceiling shot
Bonus tip: when you connect with the ball, not only let go of boost but also let go of your accelaration button as well or even hit the brakes right when you get the reset
@@macaqueonthemenu3829 most likely, at least this was a big mistake i made for quite a long time...I am surprised that almost no tutorial covers this as well
Finally getting the ability to pull these off on switch, thing that helped me the most was to just be aware of when you cut the boost, you actually need a lot less of it to fly up to the ball than you think and its just too easy to overshoot it because you thought you werent going fast enough
Thx the vid And now i know what wrong my reset Cuz my setup is good and i always got the reset only the finish go wrong, cuz i not enough fast in the air when i take a reset. Thanks for that its a big help of me

Hey Luke, I think I’m close to hitting a flip reset, just wondering how do I carry the ball under my car without falling down? Do you have a video on that?
If you fly upset down, flipping forward (left stick up) will make the car do a clockwise motion. I’m assuming you want speed and to hit it with the tip of the car to make it pop. Just an assumption
My main issue is that i only use the airroll button, not left or right. So i cant make the roll and spin at the same time. But also cba to spend agesss to relearn. I can normally get the rest, but struggle to spin my car back around to use/finish the shot
I have a question. On your air roll video, while you air roll in rings map, sometimes you turn your joystick left side (I have left air roll) and I wanna know what turning left the stick is for.
I wish I could tell you that I practiced enough, and now I know how to do air roll as well as flip reset. What’s left of time for me on this Earth won’t be enough. I wish I had the right hands, fingers, and muscle memory to do them just for once. I guess I have to accept that I’m not that good and probably gonna quit Rocket League before even come close to do them. P.S. play Jacob and the Stone by Emile Mosseri in your head while reading my comment LOL :’)
I do it a little differently by going upside down at the last second by air rolling is that less efficient or worse in some way? I don’t want to be doing it wrong the rest of my rocket league journey
Yeah I'm D3 and hve got no mechanics, starting to come up against ppl that can do this shit pretty regularly so I thought I'd try learn something, I'm still pretty hopeless lol
i know this isnt the right place or video for this right now but if you could jump into a lobby with me and two of the people i play with and go over our gameplay it would be good cause they think im bad, which im not great, but still, they dont know positioning, teamwork, and rotations. they play together more than i play with them so i just know its that they have good chemistry on how to read each other, but they have no actual game sense, they push and challenge when not needed and double commit sometimes, but they says its my fault if we lose because i miss the ball sometimes
let me tell you, I'm gc2 and I can't hit doubles consistently, I can't do flip resets outside of training but I have great game sense, speed and recovery. You don't have to be mechanical to be good
I am C3, and useful flip resets are pretty uncommon to see in ranked. Some air dribbles here and there. Game sense, positioning, rotation, shot placement, all the basic boring stuff is what Champs need, not high level mechs. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
I'm GC1 and I don't tend to go for flip resets much in game. I can hit them in training but in game I tend to stick to other shots that I hit more consistently.
I can do the pro backwards aerial set, but when I come off the wall it feels so natural to air roll the wrong way like I would if I was doing an air dribble. I'm really struggling to break the habit. Any helpful tips?
I have the same issue. Someone mentioned slowing down the game speed in free play. Haven't had a chance to try it yet but I hear a lot of people mentioning it
Yes, that is the most common way. If you have a lot of space you can go for the reset immediately, otherwise getting a first touch will create the space you need to get the reset.
Are you ever going to release any content from your coaching sessions? You've been running this campaign for months, but yet you don't show us any of the results.
Well in every single ad there are actual achievements from the participants of the program. And there is no benefit of making some videos widely available for the public when somebody out there is paying for it. But on that note - the latest settings video on his channel is indeed from the gcr and been gcr only for half a year+- but that's like the least important video
the easiest way to achieve a flip reset is by hitting the ball off of the wall, boost a little bit while doing one full air roll rotation, boosting again and lean back as you’re approaching the ball.
I was hoping for some tips on which direction to flip after gaining the reset based on some common setups... People make it look so easy but flipping upside down makes my brain hurt.
Does anybody know anything about the dual sense edge controller acting strange? Like if you flip in a direction too quick, it flips a different direction you're pushing? But only when you jump then flip really quick. I dunno I can't figure it out and my muscle memory knows something's messed up
What possesses one to even want to want to do this? My buddy is trying to learn all this and I guess I'm just different and don't want to have to sweat ALL THE TIME

I'm reading this comment and realizing I'm boosting the whole time.
This took me to the next level for sure. I didn't realize I was boosting during the air roll correction and that does totally throw you off
I was doing the hover method until this video. Always wondered why I couldn’t get it right even though my mechanics were good enough to start learning them. Thanks!
Hey Luke, I think it would be helpful to me and lots of other people if you did a video on the next step after you hit gc. I’ve found it really hard to keep ranking up once I got there and I don’t know what to do
well once u hit gc u play for another 5k hours and get a little better to rank up
speed and consistency, consciously think about what you could’ve done better in every play
At that point you just have to devote your life to the game and not go outside
Watch pros.
Come up with unique attacks and ways of playing.
For example using ceiling and curves to set up shots.
It’s kind of difficult because theirs very different topics for improving but also it is a much smaller population of people above gc so if he wants to get views, subs, and exposure it will work out much better if he focused on lower ranked like diamond and champ because most of the population stays there and they need the videos

Use directional to flip flat and work out the rest of the control from there, youll get it
honestly a lot of mechanics are somewhat easy to learn how to do when you get rid of all the flashy stuff you normally see, good video man
But the flashy stuff is what makes it satisfying when u do it

Sounds great, I cannot do airdrible yet, but if you can learn flip reset in 6minutes, why even bother to learn that first :D
A big tip for flip resets is to brake when land on the ball and you will be glued to it which makes it much easier to do.
