The kickoff thing is good advice, but there's an important consideration. Missing a kickoff is much MUCH worse than driving the whole way to the kickoff. So until you get consistent at a flipping kickoff, it may be a good idea to stick with the driving kickoff til you can do the flip without missing
The thing is if you're doing those correctly, you should still be able to do it better than a plat. None of them are that good at it. Trust me plat and diamond fast aerials are different.
Are you sure it's the speedflip kickoff? When you're not experienced with speedflipping yourself, it can be easy to mistake for the diagonal flip kickoff. I've been called a smurf in gold 1s before for "speedflipping" when I just diagonal flipped into the kickoff
i fw this list so heavy, been watching for a while and have solo queued to GC1 in 2s and nearly GC in 3s. The ground to air dribble pack is huge, and honestly the dodge control packs have been really good as well, surprisingly. I'm definitely not using them to score frequently, but being able to just get that unexpected extra touch can get so much value (This list is so close to how I learned/am learning things too)
Learning air control first before starting to learn how to spin it's soooo true. I learned the basic first, only when I hit gc I decided to give a shot to air rolling, in a matter of a week with a few hours training, I was spinning and controlling it easy
@@justinneufeld9099 I always learn these mechanics not because I wanna get better or rank up, whoever thinks that's gonna happen is dumb. I believe the game is way more fun like this and practicing the important stuff while having mechanics is just a way better experience for me.
I didn’t even watch passed diamond. I know I have a lot of work to do. Every competition match I play I get humbled. It’s gonna be a long journey but I’m gonna keep at it!
I accidentally learned airroll control, and learned how to land on my wheels all of the time in bronze and semi-blindly land on the wall in bronze (I’m looking at the opposite direction of the wall)
You most certainly can get mid to high diamond without wavedash. You can do it with just decent shots, the ability to save, and rotation. I know because I have no clue what the mechanics for WD are except on a gamecube controller
My biggest roadblock in ranking up is kid teamates who want to surrender the moment the other team takes the lead in the score, regardless how much time there is. Often times these were simply luck goals, it's not like how you can immediately tell when another team is that much better than yours, these are legit winnable games. At any rate, my options are to vote to surrender with them and take the instant L, or keep playing 2v3 or 1v3 and pretty much still take the L, although there's been times we were able to still pull out a win even without that third waste of space. I also struggle with teammates who just sit in the goal and never come out for any Offense at all, leaving my team in a 2v3 or 1v3 on Offense the entire match. This is by far the most infuriating thing. Juke 1st Defender, Juke 2nd Defender, get 50'd and knocked around by the last Defender but manage to get the ball popped up n front of net. As I'm flailing in the air waiting to impact the ground looking for my teammates, I can see One Teammate still just chillen in goal. Not just in the goal but deep in the back of the goal lmao and the other isn't that far in front of them, maybe at the top of the key... On our side. They have zero concept of overall team ball control. All they do is clear and turtle. 2/3rds of the time they miss the clear because they literally waited for the ball to roll past the front of the net from the corner before they decide to move but because they're sitting deep in the goal, it's too late.
I truly believe instead of trying to teach aerial car control in a five second concept every RUclips creator should just reference the losfeld method of aerial car control. He gives a very in depth explanation and even has a series going for training air roll.
Hey Luke you will probably not see this but I want you to know that I have recovered my mind set by watching your videos and listening to your opinion. So thank you for helping me to play Rocket League again because of fun. Keep up your job bro. I´m new btw but I think it doesn´t matter
my biggest, undoable mistake was binding boost to right bumper. The bumpers are so common for airolls, and now I can't use one of my bumpers. I can still use the left one since it isn't bound to anything yet (prob airoll left).
I’m Gc2 I just Started training wall stops and speed flip catches in the air after watching RLCS the other day. I got Wall stops down but speed flip air dribbles are gonna take a lot of time for me to learn.
My experience so far has placed these about one rank below where they actually become necessary. all the champ stuff I see in mid-diamond all the time from my opponents, and is usually why I'm not keeping up well.
I mostly play this game just to unlock skins for Fortnite and I do like the game, but I’ve gotten pretty good for a total noob and this video really really helped me see some of the mechanics. Great video for noobs.
Ive been plat for years and I learnt how to speed flip in gold and yes I can air dribble and flip reset and freestyle and do fast aerials and stuff but idk why some people think plat is so easy to get out of bc I play SA servers and these ppl I play are not only smart but mechanical and dont think like plats
They might even hit the ball in the air, but like most plats, it won't be that hard or even if it does, it won't be in the net. So must of the times it's a free ball for your side. But yes, it's really important if you could practice aerials, i wouldn't even say scoring using them, but at least learning aerials to set up a ball for your teammate or yourself, so you can create a better opportunity at scoring the goal
I think I’m at the point in plat where I’m borderline d1 but I cant push past plat 3, I have a couple of the mechanics he mentioned for diamond but its like they’re inconsistent 😭 especially my speed flips, it sucks but im bound to get better eventually
So basically to get to diamond i only need to learn to wavedash. Since i already can do the other things. Also dont front flip front flip EVER. In fact. If youre front flip you should time it to where your wheels never touch back down. It counters the speedflip. I cant tell you how many in mixed games ive played that i got kickoff goals on against GCs Not expecting a counter.
I have two things. One I'm mega inconsistent. I mean match to match I play vastly different. One match I can be playing Plat level and the next silver. How can I reduce this gap. Second do reverse half flips have a purpose ( where you do a front flip instead of backflip). I feel like they might be useful to keep momentum but I'm not sure.
I'm late plat, and I think that being able to dribble should be put in plat. You don't go in a plat3 div4 game where they are not flicking the ball like crazy.
I really don’t want to sound like a cocky plat but tbh u need at least fast Ariels dribbling and wall play. And if ur wondering how spook got out of plat without these mechanics it’s cuz he has better decision making and positioning than every plat
I wish someone would make videos going through platinum by just staring at the players missing the ball. Just saying this tells me people haven’t played play the last few seasons.
This video would be better if it was for someone completely new but due to the skill ceiling and some players enjoying mechs over game sense it’s def possible I’m a diamon and I can do champ things and I sometimes play against GCs and win
Spook I'm diamond and I can do everything on this list with ease, and I'm curious if my biggest problem is boost management. Is there anything I can do to fix my problem?

This video makes me thankful for my brother because he’s gold and I’m silver and he’s already taught me ALL of the platinum mechs
There are too many plats in my lobbies that can fast aerial. I’d put that and/or aerial control basics into plat. That’s just from my experience

Yeah fast aerials got me out of plat but that was awhile ago. Everyone's so much better
