This is the kind of movie where you can watch over, and over , and over again. The music, the colours, the acting. Incredible!

Watched it a few years ago and didn’t think much of it. Then, for a film studies course, I rewatched it again. And again. And then again. It took me so long to finish my final essay because when I would go back to rewatched specific scenes, I would become enveloped in everything - the plot(s), the mise-en-scène, the cinematography- and would end up watching large parts of the film over and over again.

This movie was a true work of quality and thoughtfulness. It's the kind of movie that you rarely see nowadays, and that you long for, and when you finally see it, you feel satisfied that good cinema is not yet dead.

OMG, I must now, from this moment onward, flail my arms and hands about when giving disjointed discourse to my fellows, interspersing those gestures with repeated instances of face-touching. THEN people will finally think I'm smart and above all else, UNIQUE! THANKS MR. GOLDBLUM!

Bad edit in the scene between Agatha and Zero...both straps are down on her chemise and then when they do her close up, the straps are up...then down again as it switches back to the wide angle...saw this in the movie (which Ioved) and saw it again in the clip included here.

Had a movie Idea of Two Brothers. Ron Pearlman and Tom Waits. Their Father has died, he was a Jazz musician died at 97. He left a last will that he'd travel route 66 and also see America with his sons. Waits and Pearlman live different lives now but agree for their old man. Goldblum was a friend of his and attends the funeral, but makes a plug for his new album. Along the road they meet Chloe Grace Moretz a young woman running from her past. They want to ditch her.
"mmm ok, but I say two old guys picked me up and forced me to go along with them. They did unspeakable things"
Pearlman, breaks. "Alright. Alright you come with us to Santa Monica, but you shut the fuck up."
    Waits:" Mmm amen brother"
Moretz: "alright. But I choose the radio"
Waits:" No. No I choose the chair if I have to listen to that shit for another 50 miles."
They run into Sam Elliot's character. He's old school like them. He's warm and receptive, but it turns out he's a clan member. Waits tries to get a free meal, but Pearlman punches him. Alan Alda is their uncle in Arizona. He's a Vegan and "new man" he had worked with Janis Joplin and won't shut up about it.
Pearlman "I'm glad we can see each other after all these years"
"Oh, I came to the East Coast 2 years ago. I played St James Infirmary."
Pearlman "ohhh yeah I remember. It was good to see you"
"You were sick, you had the Flu."
    " yeah I remember now"
Waits "Can we crash here for a night? Dad has us on a mission"
Its about 2 brothers who let the world pass them by and reconnecting with the 21st century. Realising no matter the decade we all are big kids trying to live up to our parent's shadow

The most magical of films. A masterpiece, and the music is the icing on the cake! This film should be in everyone's list of top 5 movies ever. If it's not, then i feel very sad for you. I rarely go to the cinema, but if all movies were like this, i'd never leave!
