- 2023 has some of the most exciting new aero bikes on the market. We've pulled together 8 of the best aero bikes for 2023. After the change to the UCI's stipulation surrounding the 3:1 rule saying that tubes can't be more than 3x deeper than their width, we've started to see some incredibly creative designs. Trek, Bianchi and Scott have all taken advantage of the new rules and have gone deeper in their tubing than ever before. Sure, innovation costs, and these bikes are by no means cheap, however, if money were no object, which would you go for? All 8 of these aero bikes by themselves are great and represent the best aero bikes that are available today, so which would you choose?

Hmm, no Canyon Aeroad???
If money were no object, I would simply choose Scott's, or Trek's.
They really look interesting themselves.
Be a Pro :)
Excellent review 🇺🇸 I have a 2022 S5 that is a dream to ride (especially on windy days).
Giant Propel. Money is always an object.
So to save 60 seconds, I just need to ride at 27mph constantly for an hour. OK,
These bikes are for racers. A fraction of a second difference can mean a championship or a loss for a racer.
For ordinary people, just get a sub $1k bike.
@@sepg5084 you're a marketeers dream 😀
Ahhhh ok
@@sepg5084 Racers get bikes provided by Team...everyone else is ordinary people no matter what "cat" they are
im happy with my s works aethos, the frame will always be timeless in my opinion.
I was lucky enough to be able to demo the £16k Scott for a couple of weeks and I was blown away by the comfort and speed of it.
im still waiting for the Canyon Aeroad and the Merida Reacto finnaly be dethroned
If money were no object, I'd go with the Madone SLR. It's the most radical looking road bike you can ride aside from TT-bikes.
That TREK… really does look like a Mad-One now!
If I was aero too I would get the Scott Foil
If I had to choose, I'd still go with the Tarmac S Works SL7 there for all round performance on aero road/climbs, plus the clearance to put bigger tyres and do gravel riding with it. One bike to rule them all is still relevant today, rather than having 2-3 bikes $$$
Canyon Ultimate or Rose X-Lite is the way to go much cheaper than the SL7 Aero and Also under 7kg.
Venge, yes, Sl7 nah. Not at all aero compared to latest offerings. ~150g lighter, but what good is that to us mortals on a local climb. Just take 150ml out your bottle
Arguing about one bike as you don't have the funds to buy more, and mentioning an S Works SL7 with a price tag of 12-14000 EUR/$ in the same sentence...
I fail to see any logic.
Easy solution is to steal all the tarmac components and move them into the slightly superior frame set of the trek madone or Scott foil. Which are the most aero bikes
Colnago a simplier, beautiful and elegant. Love it!
Right? Never needs those gimmicky designs, quirky features, simply beautiful and works everytime...
Very good informative and innovative useful bike technology also famous....!
A little disappointed that the Ribble didn’t make the cut. The whole bike is less than some of those bare frames.
Like the Colnago for overall looks
I am still happy with my 2019 s5
The New scott doesn’t look like a scott anymore. They just went lets copy Cervelo for a new look 🤣
I’ll take the S5, thanks.
Trek Madone all the way.... But the only issue is price :(
Still happy with my Triban RC120 from Decathlon 😂💪💪💪
I love Cervelo, S- WORKS, PINARELLO.
I’ll keep with my TARMAC SL 7 Pro…I love it 😍
Trek Madone
Not an aero bike, but yes, this is one of the few road bikes with integrated internal routing that I can imagine owning, even if it's a regular Tarmac SL7.
It can take almost any cockpit and any disc brake groupset you want, something that only very few other road bikes with the same routing configuration can do the same.
All too pricey I may go for a Canyon
I was hoping to see the new 3T Strada.
What happened to Canyon? Doesn't fit the bill?
Scott Foil: over sized head tube and steerer was reduced to 1”, just give it the Addicts 1 1/4” steerer.
nice bices indeed fellow Freds
I’ve seen isoflow in a size small and it just seems to direct air into the back tire spinning in the opposite direction 🤔
That’s exactly what I thought
Factor Ostro VAM!
which bike is the most aero? Why is no one making comparisons?
What about orbea Orca aero , bh aerolight and new fuji transition?
They didn’t send their bikes for free with sales pitch to Cycling Weekly 🤣
Colnago forever ❤
I am happy with my bianchi oltre
What happened to Cannondale?
💥💯STURDY💯💥
What I don't understand is why are those "aero" bikes not aero?
Honestly, I hate the aesthetic of dropped seat stays, so the Madone catches my eyes the most. The quicksilver paintjob with the black seat tube is gorgeous.
The Madone doesn't innovate its just a useless gimmick like the vent's on the Bianchi.
I'm still not convinced by Bianchi's airbrake ahem air deflector technology.
I love the look of it, though. Beautiful bike IMHO.
Scott Foil
Someone needs to compare all these bikes. The brand's stats vs previous models are meaningless when comparing to other brands as everyone does
Save 60 seconds in an hour riding at 40km/h
No thanks, I'll take my time.

The Tarmac looks so outdated compared to all the bikes on this list 😔
It's still a fast and race winning bike.
All marketingwank!
Which one??? 🤔 is sooooo harder choices!!!!
Bianchi
I am a bit baffled there aren't more positive comments regarding the Bianchi.....it's a stunning bike IMHO
The Madone looks like the one I'd buy.
It’s super ugly
@@Po-YuanChen-lp6gq imho the scott wins this: using "no color" at this price level ;-)
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Dogma hands down
Full disclosure: I rarely average over 45km/h so for me the Madone would be more for show than go.
come on ride faster! ;-)
When I ride mine (previous model) I feel faster than I am, just by looking at it
That is FAST !
Trek madone
Blasphemy that you didnt include (for now) the fastest aero bike of them all Simplon Pride II.
SIMPLON are niche, they cannot afford to send a bike for free to Cycling Weekly with the sale pitch all prepared… independent tests prove the Pride II is the most aero road frame indeed
AS someone who owns a gen6 madone, getting rid of the isospeed system is not just a matter of weight. That thing is a nightmare and causes a lot of problems. A quick search will show that there are a lot of people that had to fight for warranty because the system was often faulty. Good riddance.
Bianchi oltre rc
Look blade rs
Nobody talks abut Aeroad.
Dogma, s d 1...
Ignore the list. Basically the madone and scottfoil has the best frame. The specialized has the best components.
Trek and Scott have superior frames compared to the Italian bikes? I am curious to how you came to that conclusion, Jason? BTW, I am being sincere here. I was always told that PInarello, Bianchi, Wilier, Colnago, etc....make some of the BEST frames in the world. Also, you mentioned that Specialized has the best components--couldn't you put those exact same components for the most part on any of the above mentioned bikes? If so, that part would be a wash, yes? I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.....
WHERE is canyon ?
That propel is not aero?! Look at the seat tube and gaps to rear wheel?! How much did they pay to have it mentioned in this video?!
2023 Venge (speculation)
oh... my... GOD...
This makes me JEALOUS. I can't even afford any bike you sayed😭
The Trek looks more aero than the Colnago. The Trek frame more closely resembles an aero TT frame. The tire to frame gap on both tires look big on the Colnago.
Description needs to be changed to what your doctor will be riding this season
At 3:20 How can someone be 27 seconds faster over 40 kilometers at 40 kmh?? If you are doing 40 kmh then you are going to arrive in 1 hour, each and every time. The average wattage, that will change. It should be: you are going to be 28 seconds faster on a 40km ride if you are putting down the same power. Or you can say: you need X much less watts to maintain 40 kmh.
DOGMA LOOKS THE BEST SCOTT LOOKS THE MOST AERO TREK THE WEIRDEST LOOKING NEXT TO BIANCE
What a load of BS. It’s unbelievable that people still buy into all this marketing lies by the bike manufacturers. And now besides the lies, they increased the price to 15k for the top level models!
lol . Is there a single sportsman in those comments ? Only talking about how they look . Couch pros lol
Overpriced AF, Cmon 😮
Trek or Specialized. But please tell Scott: black bikes are ugly, black matt is absolutely horrible. Who will buy a bike (at this price point) looking so ....cheap....
Regardless of the color scheme, it would appear most have priced out the majority.
All these bikes are laughable 2022 was an aero year with Orbea orca. Ribble utra SLR, system 6
When will Giant admit that the propel always seems to be a generation behind?
They admit it by making it. Giant aren't innovators.
The biggest con in cycling put a rider on them and all the so called aero goes out the window
