Pulling your stomach in works very well too! Holding the abs for 5 second for every rep really flattened out my stomach. Plus you can work your stomach nearly all the time even while just sitting at work. No weights or crunches required!
@@famimosquera Look up and understand how to do a stomach vacuum properly. Stomach vacuums for 10 mins (not straight, 10 second holds with 10 second break) does a lot more for your abs than crunches and leg lifts do. Vacuums are one of the few things that works out the third layer of your rectus abdominus
@@SenseiDonGraham Works wonders. I've never had my abs sore sore until I used to do vacuums. Felt like I couldnt stand up properly afterwards of 5 mins.

@aditi basu leg raises are amazing, reverse crunches, side heel touches with head slightly raises....I do nothing that pulls or strains my neck as I have had spinal surgery so anything to engages my core I’m fine with 👍🏻
@@AstheaTV Except to have that low of a body fat percentage, where you would see ab definition with minimal training, you're probably not "in the kitchen" (in the sense that you would likely have to have a highly restrictive, potentially disordered diet). The same is true for any muscle group, yet we never talk about them like that. You're going to have more arm/leg/back/whatever definition the lower your body fat is, yet people still train arms/legs/back/whatever in order to increase that definition at a healthy body fat percentage.
@@MystiqueHarmony This. Tired of people not using proper verbiage on this topic. Everyone has Abs. Everyone! if you wanna see your abdominal muscles, you need to get lean which means you need to eat clean and burn them excess calories. You don't even have to do crunches of any sort to build ab muscles as there are many other exercises like squats that indirectly train them. Other than when i was in high school and the military, i never trained my ab muscles - but when i decide to get lean, because of all the indirect training, I'm blessed with great abs. Always get questions as to how do you get abs, and to make them look like that etc etc. For me it was swimming, squats, and deadlifts. All that core training got me the abs aesthetics i have today. But it takes hours of cardio and a micro managed diet to see all this hard work.
I really appreciate the bar graph you inserted in the middle of the video which breaks down the 12 different ab exercises and which ones are most effective for the upper, lower and obliques. Also thanks for referencing your source, now I can check it out myself! Also, like others are saying, this video is extremely well done, blending the science, your knowledge and personal experience in easily digestible language. Thanks!
Getting abs is a great achievement in life as its not just about the look, but also the will power and discipline achieved. Like you said going everyday no matter what.
Actually men store more fat in their belly area. Whereas women store more fat in their legs and ass. It's more difficult for women to gain alot of size(muscles) because they lack testosterone. But women can still easily lean out and show their abs if they just diet and exercise.
I'm glad that you put that it worked for you. Being so tall I can only do exercises that don't require to bend my spine too much as I periodically have lower back issues. I'll continue to work on everything else until I figure it out. This belly has to go.
Gail Smith but Stephanie does mention that you have to have a lean body so she's right when she says that abs are made in the kitchen. Eat a whole foods plant based diet, with no oils cut out processed foods, lose the fat then the abs will show through. Work then then they will show themselves more. Too many people think of eating healthy to lose fat/weight but change your mindset to eat healthy to be healthy and the weight will fall off. Look up Jeff Novic's you tube video in calorie density.
@@donwetherell8738 yea but not everyone is lookin 2 lose weight! Im NOT overweight AT ALL, i jus want a flat stomach..not even a six pack, i care nothin bout tht..jus FLAT!
@@mrkanobe I've never heard anything so dumb. Carbs don't make you fat, fat doesn't make you fat, a high calorie surplus over a long period of time makes you fat. However there are literally hundreds of studies that show that low carb diets increase the risk of diseases and even mortality. If you like that way of eating keep doing it, but stop recommending it to others

The fact that you lay it out at the outset...six months.. is fantastic.. people expect "infomercial" results and that's just not realistic. Everything explained and demonstrated in a complete manner. .. only way it possibly could have been better would have been a subject with slack/weaker abs doing the workout and progressing into abs .. You were in great shape to begin with. Totally agree with the diet, and shedding weight points as well... abs won't show beneath even a thin layer of fluff
A Fascia Blaster Mini 2 or Paddle would be great for ab definition, it works amazing. I did it on my man who is heavily into bodybuilding and weight training, and after a single blast the results were amazing. It works for men, or women. Especially men, simply because they have the natural muscle mass that testosterone provides.
first do cardio atleast 40mins, Then do the abs work out. 2:22 40 times and 4:17 80-90 times. 3-4 times a week. You will see results atleast in 6 months.

Finally. A video on building abs that actually is beneficial and doesn’t require so much lol. Thanks for this! I already do the ab machine but i don’t train abs everyday and my belly is honestly the last part of my body that’s been stubborn in my journey. I’ll incorporate leg raises EVERYDAY alongside the ab machine.
Doing a single exercise seems like a more practical and easier way for beginners (who has a really inactive lifestyle aka me) to actually get my ass off of my couch and workout.
Love this and watched it a few times now. I've been incorporating this idea to my workout routine, along with the stomach vacuuming. EDIT: it’s been three months since I posted this, and I actually now have visible abs! Not quite as visible as Stephanie’s is in the video, but better than I ever have had! Of course I’m doing other workouts and am eating a high protein gluten free diet while watching calories too. This and stomach vacuuming really works!
Realized that I could either lay on my bed and finish watching the video, OR get in 3 sets of 20 leg raises before the video was over. Now have a daily reminder set in my phone. Lets do this! Thanks for being so inspirational!

Clau Dia Yes, your core get really strong. Women comment that my stomach is really flat,
@@famimosquera Look up and understand how to do a stomach vacuum properly.
Hahaha that old guy doing crunches as the gym next to u is my grandpa😂
Omg😂
a lot of fitness youtubers just give out generalized claims that may be well-intending, but actually can be misleading/detrimental for the health of viewers. i love how steph actually uses SCIENCE and statistical data to back up her research, because fitness IS a science!!
It's also good to do lower back exercises along with abs training.
Real boxing Fan1 Yeah u can, they just wont appear unless you lean down
@Real boxing Fan1 Enough already with the caloric balance myth. There's no such thing as caloric deficit, it's all depends on the person's organism
Who is this blockhead talking to?
nvmffs ikr
i've been waiting for this for so long!! Hopefully next video is a bit longer. You are amazing on making those things!
Wow this is such a good idea. Training everyday isn’t technically the best way to get abs.. but if it means you commit then it’s great!
I feel like Stephanie is the realest fitness model ever, like she doesn’t act all perfect and she has cheat days and shows us how much she loves food and she also works out rlly hard and gets a breathtakingly hot body. She’s always just giving off such positive vibes. Even her relationship the way she acts to Jeff and the way he acts to her is honestly so adorable and sweet. Love this Chanel, I don’t even workout at all but watching rlly sweet people calms me down, god bless 💞💞
lea hall damn bro calm down, I know how many people act fake behind a camera I’m not stupid. But I can tell she doesn’t she’s genuinely a positive and motivated person, plus it’s my opinion I never asked for urs or ur hate
lea hall and u don’t know her personally either so who tf are u to judge???
Real boxing Fan1 ya but bro, who said she didn’t diet and work hard?
@lea hall relax.
@lea hall RIGGGHT??!!! She's a BITCH in REAL LIFE. I HATE THIS DUMB GIRL. SHE PROMOTES EATING DISORDERS.
Jeff is a lucky guy...
LOL
Everyone in bed at midnight doing leg raises hit me 😂
I do my abs at night when the kids are asleep. 100 reps most days (approx 4-5 days) and I have tighter abs
@aditi basu no you need sturdy surface & pull the bellybutton in so your pelvis is not tilted
@aditi basu leg raises are amazing, reverse crunches, side heel touches with head slightly raises....I do nothing that pulls or strains my neck as I have had spinal surgery so anything to engages my core I’m fine with 👍🏻
Watching this in 2020 and gosh, you’re so much healthier now! ♥️
YOU inspire me soo much 😍
AMen!
You're not only inspiring us with your body & consistency. It's also a work out habit.
Wow that’s some dedication. This definitely changes my mind on the whole “abs a made in the kitchen” 🙏🔥.
@@AstheaTV Yes! If you want to have a small waist you HAVE TO eat healthy girlll, that's true. I'm the best example of it
She was a lot leaner at the end compared to the beginning.
I think the better saying is : “abs are made in the gym, revealed in the kitchen”
What a coincidence! Im on month 3 of every day abs. Im seeing great results. It works!
Love her energy and the way she laughs a little when she speaks. Very inspiring.
**lays down on the floor and does 3 x 20 crunches**
merlzomazing me too! 😬😂
I clicked so fast, love you Stephanie!! You’re such an inspiration! ❤️
YOURE SAD
I really appreciate the bar graph you inserted in the middle of the video which breaks down the 12 different ab exercises and which ones are most effective for the upper, lower and obliques. Also thanks for referencing your source, now I can check it out myself! Also, like others are saying, this video is extremely well done, blending the science, your knowledge and personal experience in easily digestible language. Thanks!
I’m happy that you are happy with these results but I want you to know that you were absolutely perfect before lots of love💛💛💛💛
I love how much work you put into making this video!
That is the most logical and well thought abs routine/training EVER. LITERALLY
Awesome Stephanie!! Love progress videos like this!!
Insane results steph!! Seriously mind blowing
I really enjoyed that you showed the real you in different clips, makes your video and advice authentic. Great work.
Getting abs is a great achievement in life as its not just about the look, but also the will power and discipline achieved. Like you said going everyday no matter what.
It's hard enough for most men, for a lady to achieve this is incredible, legendary
Actually men store more fat in their belly area. Whereas women store more fat in their legs and ass. It's more difficult for women to gain alot of size(muscles) because they lack testosterone.
But women can still easily lean out and show their abs if they just diet and exercise.
@@Mr.Reality women need a higher bf% though
You are so pretty 🥰
This video was really helpful I hope I can see close results on a mommy tummy 🙏🏼
I'm glad that you put that it worked for you. Being so tall I can only do exercises that don't require to bend my spine too much as I periodically have lower back issues. I'll continue to work on everything else until I figure it out. This belly has to go.
Thank you so much for being inspiring and showing compassion for yourself and for others' journey.
disclaimer: one has to already have a fit body to start.
Gail Smith 😭😭 damn...
@@mrkanobe Drivel.
You are SUCH AN INSPIRATION!! I am a microbiology and chem undergrad who really needed the assurance this was the right way to go. And you make it look so easy! But I am 100% COMMITTED now. You are so awesome!
And I never comment on anything haha
Thank you Stephanie!
I will do thissss🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 btw u look so pretty today&everyday💙
It’s Mar I’m trying today too 😭 so inspiring
@Hit the Woah if i can do it, you can do it! Never give up 👌🏼
Dimitra Manouseli You can do HIIT instead which has proven to be better than long cardio sessions, these are short but intense :)
Dimitra Manouseli Oh great :) haha , It’s so much better than long cardio sessions , i like to do Malova Elena Skipping routines , and Blogilates Pop hiit routines :) check those out
Wow! Great job! Dedication and discipline are key. Congratulations on your accomplishments.
Curious how you’re doing now?
Realized that I could either lay on my bed and finish watching the video, OR get in 3 sets of 20 leg raises before the video was over. Now have a daily reminder set in my phone. Lets do this! Thanks for being so inspirational!
your amazing personality truly shines in this video, beauty inside and out
Youre so smart,beautiful,healthy,seem fun,basically everything.
Such an inspiration! I am nowhere as fit as you are but with this guide and commitment, I shall get there! Thank you so much for sharing this to the world, Stephanie!
INSPIRED! Thanks, girl! I used to do 100 crunches a day as a teen. I stopped, and yes my definition went away. Back to it!
Ew, you're gross
Wow that's rude. You go girl!! How do u do so many crunches without ur neck killing??
Yee Yee University why is that gross
Bout to start working out my abs for 1 month straight everyday.
I love the honing in on time, reps and target area. Like this is very attainable. That chart was so bomb lol. Definitely might screenshot it!
I love core workouts, so this will be nice to consider in how to incorporate some daily movements that CAN give me progress with consistency!
YOU ARE MOTIVATION❤️
Thumbs up if you’re inspired too!!😍😍💯
Thank you for this video girl!! I am so so inspired and can’t wait to start doing this! I’m going to record my journey as well!
You are so wonderfully not annoying for a workout person. Thank you.
I don’t know if you did this in other videos but I think it woulda been nice to see progress photos. Especially since you changed up your regimen every couple months.
In other news.... dayum girl.
hipnhappenin she did include them...
Alli Burgess can you timestamp please? It seems like she just shows the end product but in different parts of the video
Literally sitting in front of the computer and waiting for your video, yayyyy
I’ve been having trouble being committed to doing abs everyday but after seeing your results, I am most definitely going to do abs every single day! Thanks for the inspiration!!
This kind of lit a fire in me. I need better abs for my next competition lol
I really feel like I can benefit from this video, I think the way you trained yourself was smart and could work for me.
I LOVE tou videos Steph. I LOVE how u explain in details how to do a certain workout and how you include results of how it works scientifically also please keep it up for every part of the body!👍🏻
Im triying this now
Were in you a calorie deficit as well? What did your diet look like?
she does MAJOR cheat days once a month....around 8-10K cals...and does not starve herself. check out her older vids. she's known for how much food she can slam down. Her metabolism is peak.
@@yellowbmblbee its proven that there is no such thing as a fast/slow metabolism. it all comes down to calories in & out. making up for the cheat days requires a lot of movement and/or calorie restriction.
@@yellowbmblbee She is obviously much leaner at the end of this. She was obviously doing a cut but wanted to appeal to her audience and make them think they can get the same results by doing crunches everyday and eating fast food at the same time.
I like she said 'let me do me and you do you' RESPECT!
U r right
Soooo where the makeup tutorials at 😬💅🏼
Hey peeps I thought hey this does not take much time to do so I will try it right now I just finish day two and thought I would comment updates on were I am with it🙃
Day 1: It as easy for the first two reps then that it was harder for the third fourth rep . . . My core felt like IT WAS ON FIRE
Day 2: I did three reps and there third one seemed a little easier only did three because I am tired from staying up writing a extra credit paper for class that I stink at so going to fail that class. At least I will hopeful have abs by then though😭
Day 3: I did three reps they when good other then the fact that I accidentally injure me left leg it would pop ever single one I did and hurt bu that’s not because of the leg lifts
Day 4: it was just like yesterday my leg still hurts
Day 5ish: ok so I caught the flu yea not so I didn’t work out for a few day but I am now healthy and back at it today I did two reps of leg lift and one rep of crunches feeling pretty good and it spreed it out more over my core
hey goodd going
Nice and thanks for updating! Do you have day 7? And I hope you recover from the flu soon.
Thank you thank you thank you for this!!!! I work full time and so busy with kiddos that this quick ab routine is exactly what i needed! I love love love that you had to work up to using the machines! My hubby would tell me to use the machines but they always hurt my back and they were very difficult for me...probably because I had just had a baby! Thanks again! Love the videos. I can't believe how much you are able to train when going to school so many hours and study..dedicated to fitness!
Appreciate your honesty and to be honest even without the full abs you are gorgeous. Your a captain marvels Brie Larson x1000 because of your personality and energy.
Seeing this after the All in journey just seems bunkers
Good for you girl, I am obsessed with my abdominal, it's the weakest part of my body, but I am 94 percent to were I want to be, I am doing almost everything right, and that's the key, and I am told that in time it will come, and boy I can't wait,💪
Do the abs show only when u flex or all the time?
With good genetics and if you're super lean they will show all the time but they won't look like they "pop-out" just slightly raised square ridges if that makes sense. If you're picturing abs from movies then they are flexed.
what kind of question if that? no, you do not need to flex, to show you abs, if you have a low body fat, just walking you abs will pop up

Thank you for posting this AND HOW you did it. I needed this guide. Good point. She doesn't have any built abs, and nobody can do that in 1 exercise 3 min per day.
