Elderly citizens, most of whom worked and paid taxes most of their lives, pay for their Meals on Wheels, Monday to Friday only - no weekend meals and no meals are supplied on public holidays. This Xmas falls on a Wednesday, so the elderly wont get meals on Xmas day or Boxing Day, but I bet crims will be well fed and looked after. But a thief, rapist, murderer, etc, will get 3 meals a day, every day, hot showers, warmth, shelter, clean sheets, security, entertainment etc etc. Who said 'crime doesnt pay?' :(

People will start committing crime just to be able to get free room and board and meals. It is truly a kick in the face to taxpayers struggling to feed their families and pay rent/mortgage on the daily. wtf is this government thinking? 💩🤡 get me off this planet...

Prison will always be full of people who didn't mean "to do it". Prison needs to be a place you don't want to go back to. Sure, help where you can, but no luxuries. Absolute believer in hard labor. Prisoners generally take away other people's rights, they should have theirs taken away, equals accountability.

As a NZ taxpayer, I suggest that the air force use their new transports to fly our prisoners to Rwanda, and contract the Rwandan government to 'accommodate' them. When ( if ) they complete their holiday, they can organize their own travel back to NZ, at their own expense.
