@@rick-the-anglo-saxon I understand what you’re saying but who’s to say that Western technology is the right technology? We will never know because self-determination or mana motuhake was taken away from our people, and with it, any potential. I know that the “technology” used by First Nations people in Australia is far superior to western technology in terms of environmental management. So that’s not a question that can be easily answered. Left to our own devices, who knows what could have been? It’s not about romanticising Māori ethnicity and culture, it’s about the union between Maori and the Crown turning from what should have been a fruitful partnership, into oppressive ethnocentrism.
I honestly don't see what's wrong with everyone in one country having equal access to opportunity. That is called democracy and fairness. I think Maori are blowing this way out of proportion. They should open up the doors to new beginnings and allow fresh new blessings so many of them are not working. We have tenants who are maori they do absolutely nothing every single day blast their music cause chaos in the neighborhood and live off taxpayer dollar. They are not allowing themselves to get uncomfortable to thrive. Very complicated situation especially for the children.
@matakitaki1 i never said I'm a landlord. Another reason why we should all be under one government. Maori are so uneducated they run off big assumptions and make the loudest noise about it.
There is a lot of misinformation circulating and has been for decades. The treaty it self was between the crown (queen) and Maori. In the treaty it says Māori have equal rights to New Zealand citizens. I’m questioning why this notion of special rights keeps repeating over and over. Only special thing is the small amount of land that is still in Māori possession. The 150 to 100 year leases on Maori land that were signed in the 1800 by settler farmers are soon ending could also be a reason why there is a push.
@@jasmine-tf2fb Allow me to raise a discussion in that the term New Zealanders stated in the treaty refers to Maori, of which certain rights are "extended to" as if they were British subjects. So sure those rights no more or no less then British subjects but that is only in theory as has never been practiced even to this day. You are probably bang on regarding perpetual leases or any resources under Indigenous guardianship of which we could all be responsible for under Te Tiriti.
You dont even understand what the bill is about, it will help maori, how about read, listen and discuss things instead of just shouting and screaming propaganda nonsense
Let me guess? Did you get the vaccine? If you did and obeyed Maori won't need to worry about weather your racist or not. Your own have cut you down you just don't know it yet.
You trust a system the lives by the sword. It's cruel . It's time is over one way or another.
White human history you mean, Indigenous management of environmental ecosystems is actually far superior than anything white people have created. Because indigenous do it with harmony, respect and revitalisation. White people just want wealth, hello climate change
And this is just fear mongering, you don’t want to allow Māori to be recognised because it could take something from you. When actually, all it would do is give to all of NZ! Substantial gains because money wouldn’t be wasted on preventable disease, justice system, restitution, mental health. You can’t just skip a step (Māori) and expect these things to happen. Stop being so afraid
can New Zealand be a repulblic basesd on the treaty of Waitangi 1840 and the New Zealand Declaration of Indepences 1835 documents
Hell yeah, this rules
I honestly don't see what's wrong with everyone in one country having equal access to opportunity. That is called democracy and fairness. I think Maori are blowing this way out of proportion. They should open up the doors to new beginnings and allow fresh new blessings so many of them are not working. We have tenants who are maori they do absolutely nothing every single day blast their music cause chaos in the neighborhood and live off taxpayer dollar. They are not allowing themselves to get uncomfortable to thrive. Very complicated situation especially for the children.
Ok landlord spoken like a true thief, living off the payments of tenants upon land that once belonged to the tenants you take off.
@@matakitaki1 agreed 👍
Toitu te Tiriti tangata tiriti.

You dont even understand what the bill is about, it will help maori, how about read, listen and discuss things instead of just shouting and screaming propaganda nonsense
Let me guess? You're one of those lot that like to spread misinformation and are only thinking of what is written and not of what is in the belief and understanding of what the bill represents and for who? It's not about all people of Aotearoa, you sound ignorant and stupid, you're "Momoana Poaka Tutai" in my eyes, go back to sleep
the seabed & foreshore is still there, its not gone, anyone can go anytime. is it about selling the sand & fish oil, kicking people off the water? the navy ports etc everyone uses the waterways.
