Jimmy overthrew his receiver and Kyle just didn't know how to manage the clock. Sherman and the 9ers took a nose dive in the 4th giving up 2 tds in less than 10min but it would've been recoverable if the offense could've gotten that last touchdown to make it 27 and run out the clock. Mistakes all around, but mainly the offensive side.

      The Herd with Colin Cowherd
Dude, there was still 1:30 at least on the clock when G over threw that 3rd and 10. There was absolutely no guarantee that Mahomes wouldn’t have drove them back down the field and scored.

The 49ers offense and Kyle Shanahan.....blew it. The game was there for the taking, or should I say the close! Two interceptions and the 49ers did nothing with it. NO RETURN ON INVESTMENT.

I was 10 years old the last time the Chiefs went to the Super Bowl. Mahomes is clearly a special player, but I really don't think we had one single SB MVP. A dozen guys made big plays in big moments. Jones, Clark, Breeland, and Fuller all made plays on defense. Watkins, Kelce, Hill, Williams, and Mahomes all made plays on offense. Pringle made plays on special teams. It was truly a team effort.
We have to re-sign Jones. He and Clark together are the Disruptive Duo.

On this day, Rocketman (that is Patrick Mahomes), truly became a legend. He beat the dreaded Madden Curse; he saved Andy Reid from himself; and he broke the suffocating continuum of misery for KC fans. Amazingly, he accomplished this by recording the greatest postseason ever by a QB, mounting consecutive double digit comebacks in 3 separate games.
And with his latest victory in the Superbowl, Patrick Mahomes, in just 2 short years, not only became an all-time great, but he has also done the unthinkable, in making QBs like Aaron Rodgers, athletically irrelevant. Indeed, by the will of his own prodigy, this guy's talent may know no bounds. He has, in all candor, completely shattered the mold, and single-handedly turned the game of football as we know it, inside out.

The Chiefs ran 75 offensive plays to 54 for the 49'ers and the Chiefs really ran for 144 yards on 26 carries(5.5). Mahomes to run out the clock at the end of the game took three consecutive snaps and took a knee, losing 15 yards in the process. Not exactly in the run of play.
Also, as we all know, it's how many points you score, not how many yards your offense runs up.
    Defense
The Chiefs were 7th in points allowed the 49'ers 8th.
The Chiefs also played a much tougher schedule
Record of opponents, AT THE TIME THE GAME WAS PLAYED
    Chiefs - .634
    49'ers - .485

It's frightening because if the Chiefs continue to improve on both sides of the ball along with their explosiveness then the sky is the limit. The largest margin that the Chiefs have lost their nine games over the last two seasons has been by no more than 7 points in any given game. They have never been blown out in a game since Mahomes has been their starter.

In terms of "team uniqueness," the Chiefs are like 2014&2015 KC Royals.
There has never been a Back2Back Pennant winner/World Series Champion like 14,15 KC Royals.
By far the weakest lineup/starting rotation to ever win a World Series. But what did Royals have? Arguably THE BEST bullpen in MLB history to go along with shutdown defense and lighting speed on base paths. When you gave a great bullpen to come out of pen to either hold a lead, keep a game tied or keep a deficit within 1-3runs? Its HUGE. You dont need great hitting lineup or great starting pitching. Just timely hitting.

Through 53 minutes, Mahomes was playing the worst game of his career. He won super bowl MVP. All the credit in the world to him, but the real story last night was the Chiefs D. I believed last night was a final exam for the Chiefs defense: Good enough or still a failure? They allowed 0 4th quarter points and the 49ers ran just 17 plays in their last 4 drives. After Mahomes 2nd interception, I said if the 49ers do not score again in the final 9 minutes, they would lose. The Kansas City defense put them over the top in the 2nd half of the season, and allowed their 24 year-old future HOF Quarterback an opportunity to make magic. This team is very scary, and barring injury, Mahomes is a lock to be a 3 time champion.
