I am a Ravens fan, but I have to acknowledge greatness.
What is incredible about Mahomes' run this season:
The Chiefs did not have a 1000 yard receiver/tight end.
The Chiefs did not have a 1000 yard running back.
The Chiefs' offensive line lead the league in penalties. The right tackle, Jaawan Taylor, led the league in penalties.
The Chiefs' wide receivers led the league in drops.
The Chiefs went 5-5 in their last ten regular season games.
Mahomes beat the number 1 and 2 seeds on the road to get to the Super Bowl.
Mahomes beat the NFC's 1 seed in the Super Bowl.
The Bills, Ravens, and 49ers were all ranked in the top 10 in defense and offense this year.
Mahomes faced 4 players who finished top 5 in the MVP voting, including the winner.
Mahomes became the first player to in NFL history to have 3 double digits deficits in the Super Bowl and win.
He threw a game winning touchdown in overtime to win; Brady is the only other player in league history to do that.
Mahomes won his 3rd Super Bowl MVP by the age of 28, becoming the first player to do that.
Mahomes is now 15-3 in the playoffs after 6 years, only trailing Montana and Brady in playoff wins.
Mahomes is now 1 in playoff history in completion percentage, winning percentage, qb rating, and total yards per game; 8-2 when trailing by 7 or more in the playoffs.
He isn't the Goat yet, but he is doing crazy stuff.

And yet no one wants to see this. Or what the message Colin is trying to get across. With afcs stacked qbs (mahomes, Lamar j, j Allen, stroud, herbert), being good will only take you so far. And the crazy fact these teams are only getting better. 49ers may not look the same system may change if owners are fed up. It's bad because all the players have to learn a new system, historically first year or two are so so. Nfc is kinda open for teams to take it. 49ers of course, j hurts (eagles need a center now), j love, and Goff stand out to me. This was the year to take it from the cheifs, mahomes was hungry and sounds like his focused. His the man to beat. My raiders can't wait till he retires 😂😂😂😂

No, he's the GOAT. He's the GOAT already. Brady was an expert at one thing: neutralizing defenses by being so quick on the release. The guy read the field in lightning speed and released w/o hesitation - that's also why he had a fk-ton of interceptions (because he lacked hesitation).
Mahomes has that AND he can run, AND he can improvise, AND he can throw bombs that drop right in the bucket. Brady's arm was nothing like Mahomes. Comparatively, Brady didn't even have legs.
He's the GOAT - only thing missing is 10+ years. That's it.

49ers didn't match up as well in their bigger packages, because KC's base was pretty dominant. You've got the corners who're winning, outside, and you bring in Leo Chenal, who was wreaking havoc. I understand what Sanchez is saying about the 49ers going with big personnel in tight instead of spread out to minimize the effectiveness of KC's elite corners, the issue they ran into is that this makes it way too easy for Spagnuolo to disguise blitzes. And to make matters worse, the blitzers are much closer to the quarterback because they too can be clustered in towards the middle of the field. I think that's why you didn't see the 49ers use formations like that as much later in the game.

I feel like the game really swung when Mahomes threw the pick and then the Niners proceeded to go 3-and-out. That was their moment to put their foot on KC's neck and they blew it. They had the Chiefs on the ropes the entire first half and did not capitlize once. People are going to look at Brock and put plenty of blame on him but he played a pretty good game, he played the type of game that would've changed the narrative around him had the Niners won. However, much like SB LIV, I think there should be plenty of blame for Shanahan. Again, he showed that he cannot adjust and the Super Bowl is too big for him. He's the common denominator in all of his 3 of his Super Bowl losses.

Shanahan is way to predictable in his play calling , and he (1) called too many lateral throws, never once called a sprint out or a screen, or a QB draw/ run...and should have gone on 4th down at least twice....its the fkn Superbowl!!! You gotta grab momentum, nobody's going to give it to you.

You just can't let them hang around in a game like that. If the Chiefs were down by 4 on that last drive they would have scored a TD not a FG, and no OT. The 49ers made a lot of plays BUT for every one more play they might have made, that Chiefs team would have made 2 more plays.

    The inconsistency is annoying...
They talk about taking the ball in OT "gives Mahomes and extra down so he's leathal"
BUT if they had the XP and KC needed a TD...all the sudden thats worse, not just a "extra down for Mahomes"

      @davis267 9 месяцев назад +1

I mean, both are true: being up 4 at the end of regulation is always going to be better and knowing what you need in OT is a psychological advantage. Going second in OT is an advantage precisely because both offenses are operating in the same situation but the second team has a flexibility to adapt to situational football that the first one doesn't simply by definition

This year does it without a 1000 yard receiver or 1000 yard rusher and the most drops in the league. Pat has no blemishes on his career he’s been impossibly great.
