Nice video. I have a K2. I’ve had 9 bikes in my 20 years of riding and I think this may be my favorite. Like you I’ll never let her go. She a keeper until the day I die. I bought her with 79000km on the clock. We’re at 84km now. I hope she runs forever. And yes, they are crazy loud on startup and it doesn’t sound healthy at all.
Yeah still looks awesome for 20 years old bike. Honestly I don’t need more than 160hp 😂. Only thing which is cool on new machines is traction control and quick shifter with auto blipper. This would be nice to have on the track so I don’t high-side as I don’t ride that regular on the track and this is nice safety feature to have.
@@monsteralex3098 Yes you're right, for the Street 160hp is enough but in my oppinion you can't have to much Power on the Racetrack. Earlier I had the gsxr 1000 K5 and actually the K7 and spacially on Racetrack I don't miss any Electrical Support.
@@firstfist2351 For racetrack definitely there is no to much power. But I usually ride in small super moto/motard tracks and there you don’t need that much power. Even in bigger racetracks you need to have long straits to use all the power. I thing you feel those 200hp especially in speeds higher than 200km/h. Bellow that it would be for me as an amateur not big difference. already my k1 makes 0-200km/h in 7.2 seconds and I am not sure if new sport bikes are faster. If yes mainly due to lunch control and quick shifter.
@@monsteralex3098 I'm usually in Hockenheim and it's just that imprecise drivers like me need more power. I think you learn a lot more on such small Super Moto circuits.
@@firstfist2351 I mainly ride in autodrom Sosnova near Ceska Lipa and sometimes in bigger racetrack Most. Yes I learned much faster in small track in Sosnova. If I would go without previous experience to Most I would for sure crash. So now I have GSXR for big tracks and Monster 1100 for super Moto tracks and backroads near Karlshtein castle. Both cool bikes, don’t even thing about upgrade. Most of new production machines are quite ugly honestly. Don’t like MT 09, superscalpel 890…..even if they ride nicely.
Nice bike….about 23-years ago. Had the exact same spec with Penske/ Akro Ti exhaust etc. Blue & white is the best colors for GSXR. You can make these a lot bigger in size; but the +17 are even bigger. Like 10mm billet stroker crankshaft and +5mm big-bore pistons with nitrous.
I was thinking to make +2mm or +3mm big bore kit (1040cc or 1070). But it a lot of money to spent, probably will stay for now with stock bike an try to make it lighter with magnesium wheels if I find good deal. 160hp is still plenty.
@@Tenorihuttunen nice. Yeah with headwork, and race pistons or overbore kit 1043 or 1072cc it is very easy to get those figures! Make a video about it and let me know!
nice bike ! still have mine , bought it new back in the day , has past 100 000 kms and still runs strong compared to modern bikes with all the crappy electronics going on wich i hate. i take her out for a spin on weekends and for daily use i ride a little 600 gsr , have fun ! gexx for life
Thanks man! Oh that’s awesome! 100 000 km is some serious number! Everything stock on the engine? Did you try those new super bikes with over 200hp? I am just curious if it makes a difference for street riding to have 160hp vs 210hp?
@@monsteralex3098 yeah engine stock , just a slipon yoshi on it. have not tried the new bikes , i'm too oldschool for those , don't like all the crappy technology like i said
I'm really interested in this kind of bike. Currently ride a SV1000s which to me is almost the ultimate streetbike. I wonder tho, because of the long gearing, how do you ride around town or on any other roads than highway? constantly in first gear? with my bike you can go through the gears often but on your machine it would seem way more dull riding on non-highway roads. What is your opinion on that?
Yeah sometimes it is boring with those long gears as you can’t use all the power of the engine otherwise you go triple digits speeds. But the beauty of this four cylinder engine is that you can easily ride around town in higher gears as it has torque everywhere but still around town and in backroads I prefer my second motorcycle Ducati Monster 1100. It has very short gears and it is a lot of fun as you have to work with gears constantly.
I have a K2. Actually feels better to go 100km/h in 6th because it gives me less urge to do something stupid, at the same time it can do over 150km/h in 1st. It's kinda messed up, I feel like I'm always on the edge of losing my self control when I'm down in 1st to 3rd.
Sounds like it needs a service. Thr engine runs very unsteady. I would change spark plugs, air filter and then synchronise the throttle valve. Would be interesting to hear the result with the nice exhaust
Service was done recently when I changed cranked engine head for new one. The engine was just cold and gsxr especially this k1-k4 are quite noisy and mechanical sounding. Nothing wrong with machine

I have a gsxr 1000 k3. Fast bike but if you know what you doing perfeckt for the road and autobahn

Hey nice bike, i have a 600 k1... did u cut the plate holder? cuz mine is original, but it is too long, cant find a proper one that fits the blinkers.
I didn’t cut it, but probably previous owner did it.
Im looking for the original plate holder for mine, let me buy it, and buy the aftermarket undertail.
@@t16205 the original plate holder is the entire undertail base of the tail, thats why ppl had to cut it to instal the undertail kits for these bikes.

Totally agree!
It's called a fast idle lever
Thanks
How is the bike up to 40km/h while driving in town carlines, does it stutter or goes restless in low rpm?
It is smooth in low speeds, no problem in town and traffic jams.
